Suggestion for devs: "Major addition" Armory system

Hi there, a while ago I was playing another MMORPG in addition to TESO and this one had a great armory system that should be essential to any MMORPG game it's the armory system.

This would allow players to record the appearance of our character, builds, spellbars and our complete equipment, to name this armory, for example, Armory DPS mono, DPS multi, tank etc (free choice of name) as well as to be able to assign an icon such as role icons for example and see others that allow you to see the latter when you switch and most importantly the championship points.

So, I can already see the addons pros coming: "there are already addons for that", except that, the addons are only for PC, so, forget that, I'm aiming at that as an addition, which I would like to qualify as a "major addition" for the game, taking the usual statements of the developers :p. Of course the armories would have to be bought and have a free one after a limited number of 4 or 6, I don't know which limit could be right (to be studied).

Question, restriction, the swtich would not be available when engaged in a fight, or if we can make it have a bad time, to prevent to do it again. Of course the registered equipment will not be present in the inventory or even available for scrapping once registered on the armory, it will have to be removed if necessary to perform one of its steps.

I think that such an addition would be more than welcome in Elder Scrolls Online, it would not be the same occasion a small wink to what we find in the solo TES, at the limit, it would even be possible to add armories that can be used only as decoration, but it will have to be seen as another armor system of this subject.

I hope to get some feedback from the community and also the devs :)

sorry if my english is not good, if need be, I post the original text (french text) above as a spoil :

We are still trying to get Text Search in the Guild Store, Known and Unknown Store Searches and Account Wide Inventory.

Gear buildout swaps have been asked for since launch.

It is not a bad idea, we just have lowered our expectations of what ZOS will give us.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Sorry but as a theory crafter who doesn't like sharing builds with casual players who can't even comprehend how to animation cancel or weave; ide rather prefer it if they couldn't figure out how I out preformed them at a click of a button via an armory and bastardize my hard-earned min-maxing for themselves or judge me for not following the alcast sheep meta. Its one of the main reasons I prefer ESO to WoW is because people can be diverse and not have to reveal it to the world.

it's not armory what u want, it's build loadouts. Armory means a public database where u can see a player's build, and nobody of the salty elites wants that.

the goal of the idea is to be able to record a stuff according to our use, I don't think it has to be necessarily visible by others, at least I didn't see this idea to go in this direction, but rather for a practical side not to bother anymore to change x set or modify the champion points for such a situation.

So like the Dressing Room addon for PC? But you'd like to see the functionality added into the game itself so consoles can get it also?

From a fundamental stand-point, you're not wrong - every game would be fundamentally better with...you know...more. More features. More customizability. etc...

But every game development company has to stop adding things at some point for...reasons. So, in comes the mod community. The mod community takes their own time and effort and adds things that OF COURSE would be good for the game - cuz it's MOAR!!

Yes - there is an addon (probably several) that do EXACTLY what you describe. And YES, it would be great if the game included that as standard for everyone. It would ALSO be great if the game included being able to climb terrain, and swim underwater, and fly on dragons and And AND...

Of COURSE it would be great if the game had MOAR! And it will - and if we're very lucky, they'll add multiple skill/equipment build trackers into the game, along with dlc-exclusion to the group finder and solo-dungeons for RP and account-wide outfit purchases and viable hybrid builds and separate pvp-vs-pve skill balancing and and AND...

I'm not sure what my point was. I'm just...it's not a revolutionary idea. Of course we'd like more. More would be good. Which more we get first, and which ones we have to wait for, and which ones we can reasonably expect when we're not single-handedly bank-rolling the company - that's a much harder evaluation to make

You want MMOS on consoles to have the same versatility and customizability that PC users have access to? That's cool - I'm all behind it. Of course, it means that consoles will have to become more expensive, or modern day game companies will have to accept a much smaller margin of profit, and/or they'll have to monetize their games more aggressively, or technology will have to drop in price, or, Or, OR...

The way things currently are - the prices the consumers expect, the content consumers expect, the convenience consumers expect, the profits companies expect, the operating costs companies have to deal with, the man-power limitations companies have to deal with, and on and on it goes...all determine that at some point, you have to say - we've included everything we can reasonably afford to include while still producing a game at the cost our consumers expect with the features they need to be satisfied - of course we'd like more. But would we be willing to pay more? More for our consoles? More for the games? Wait longer for better product? Pay more for better product with more content? I've been subbed to ESO since launch - I shudder to imagine how much money I've sunk into the game (although I still haven't paid a fraction as much as the crown crate whales). I've paid my dues, and I get...what "I" feel, is a reasonable amount of content. Of course, I'm playing on a PC. A rather expensive PC. And because of that, I get performance and access to mods that improve my experience (from a personal point of view, of course) compared to playing on a console. I pay more - I feel like I get more. I'm okay with that. I'd LOVE to GET MORE FOR LESS!!! HELL YA!!...I'm just not sure it's a reasonable expectation is all

this was mostly a personal rant - not really a criticism - stream of consciousness triggered by your post. Feel free to ignore if it you like.

There are so so so many addons that Zos could make themselves and ship out. It’s sad.
On top of a “load out” or armory they could implement Forward Camp preview in literally a day. It’s so small and yet the most intuitive “duh” add on I’ve ever seen. Why don’t they hold a competition and then implement the most popular ones in base game?
Their buff tracker was elementary. Their multi craft was confusing. Add on authors can’t create without the information already being there so really Zos has a lot of untapped potential.

The best development was their API, which allowed for all these add-ons to be created in the first place. You are right....so much untapped potential.

While this Loadout Editor is a good idea, I feel like ZoS has their sights on more lucrative projects (i.e. new content like DLCs and chapters).

Yeah, well after that there's a debate about that, because yes, we'd like to have that in the game, but we can turn it the other way around too, the devs want to have that in the game or have it go the other way around, whereas it's not necessarily the case for the community, which I think is a more common case (I think, but I could be wrong ^^).
Otherwise I'm not sure that this proposal has as strong an impact as you seem to perceive, it does exist in other games that are also on console and PC, so I don't see how it could be an exception on TESO except for the vision of devs diverging with the players, after the impact is likely to come on the way to play the game, yes it's quite possible and there again I proposed a "restriction/penalty" principle, but it can be more thorough if needed.
Because to tell you all I've seen this system through another game so maybe I don't see it very well compared to what TESO is, but at this level I think the devs will be better than me ^^.

Ah, so you're on PC and still want these changes? Nice. The comment you were referencing had made the assumption you weren't (and seemed like they were trying to jest).

On a totally different note, the addon I use that does this (assuming I understood the OP correctly) is AlphaGear 2. I love this addon, and it does most of what you described (not sure about the champion point recording). I know there are at least a couple of others like it (or maybe it is like them - I really don't care at this point - I found the one I like)
