Magicka Necromancer is hands down the jankiest and most annoying thing for me to play in the game right now - by an enormous margin. And people celebrate the removal of the only viable offense-oriented stun the class has, and steadfastly argue against giving them a replacement...cause, you know, Stam Necro is strong.

I'm trying to suggest a change to help the class in an area it needs help in. I recognise that it is annoying in other areas and that those issues should be addressed. But that is not what this is about.

It's poor in that situation because it's good in others. Can't just buff something blindly.
Reviving this thread, since giving necro mage a stun + target control is a really cool idea.
Right now mage isn't worth using in PvP at all - people even slot mage light instead (lol)
some additional arguments for giving the mage a stun:
- stun can (must) be added only to the magicka morph, which is complete garbage in PvP anyway, to avoid overbuffing stam necro.
- mage stun will allow magnecros to continue using shock destro (build diversity)
- will help magnecros with crit chance on execute and additional sustain
- allowing to control mage will be a nice QOL change for PvErs too
- dot + stun skill is interesting, but not over-performing combination (like stun on hard-hitting skills, which ZoS tries to avoid).
- finally, necros will use more class skills, which is always good
Overall this change will make magnecro much more competitive, not affecting stamnecros and PvE players (which is always great).
