How I would give a single target stun back to Necromancer.

I was having a casual chat with some people about necromancer and the issue regarding the lack of stun options they now face. We talked about how skeletal mage was an interesting idea but that nothing too much was really done with the arcanist or archer. my thought process was that Nightblade's shadow image is a 1 bar pet that has an ability, so maybe I could fix the stun to the skeletal mage via a "re-activate ability".

The tool-tips would read something like this:

Note: I tried to improve the usability of the Skeletal Mage by making it continue to attack the target, regardless of if they were the closest enemy or not.

    I'm trying to suggest a change to help the class in an area it needs help in. I recognise that it is annoying in other areas and that those issues should be addressed. But that is not what this is about.

    Have you ever tried to solo with a magicka necromancer? Why comment on stuff you are not invested in, while playing classes that have both - escape and (unblockable) stun?

    I already experienced the, "Lets hold back and/or outright nerf a magicka build because the stamina counterpart is actually good" for a long time with my Warden, and now people ask for the same thing with Necromancer.

    Magicka Necromancer is hands down the jankiest and most annoying thing for me to play in the game right now - by an enormous margin. And people celebrate the removal of the only viable offense-oriented stun the class has, and steadfastly argue against giving them a replacement...cause, you know, Stam Necro is strong.

    Magblades are there to. Elder Stamina Online still on the tracks.
    I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

    I’m still praying and waiting they will give Magnecro a decent ranged hard stun.

    I also really think that they should change how shocking siphon works in terms of placement, but not restoring tether. The link to a corpse is really weird on the damage ability and just doesn't work too well in PvP. I think it should be placed on an enemy. not a corpse. where perhaps it and restoring tether break after 2 seconds of not being in direct sightlines of the caster. for Nightblades using cloak against the DoT, i'd probably recommend that when the target is invisible, the tether soft-breaks, where it stops showing the animation or dealing damage, but reconnects if the target leaves cloak within the tether's sightlines.

    It's poor in that situation because it's good in others. Can't just buff something blindly.
    Crown Crates are a trap. Don't fall for the gamble! Balance? What Balance? Balance, smellance.
    Necro for them RP feels.

    Reviving this thread, since giving necro mage a stun + target control is a really cool idea.

    Right now mage isn't worth using in PvP at all - people even slot mage light instead (lol)

    some additional arguments for giving the mage a stun:
    - stun can (must) be added only to the magicka morph, which is complete garbage in PvP anyway, to avoid overbuffing stam necro.
    - mage stun will allow magnecros to continue using shock destro (build diversity)
    - will help magnecros with crit chance on execute and additional sustain
    - allowing to control mage will be a nice QOL change for PvErs too
    - dot + stun skill is interesting, but not over-performing combination (like stun on hard-hitting skills, which ZoS tries to avoid).
    - finally, necros will use more class skills, which is always good

    Overall this change will make magnecro much more competitive, not affecting stamnecros and PvE players (which is always great).

    Obviously the idea isn't perfect. It shouldn't have a proc noise as you'd get the noise every time you highlighted an enemy. But it might be a good idea to make it turn into the stun ability for 1 sucessful cast. So if it misses your target, you'd have to recast the skeleton. But then I'd make only the stun cost resources. As casting the pet over and over would be really damaging. Might help with sustain too.
