Hmmm i didnt think about it but you have a good point: im soloing the whole game thanks to campers (bots or players, who knows?).
It was a stroke of genius to use a "hit once, you get credit" approach. It makes the need to team up to avoid overfarming mobs for quests unessary (not that there are any long kill quests to begin with; SWTOR had some bonus quests that resulted in 25 people trying to get 35 kills each. With a "first hit, only credit" appraoch if not grouped; you can guess the results...).
It also means you are more enticed to help other player (you might get loot chance and nobody can assault you for "atempted kill stealing" when saving thier life.

Without that one rule bots might be an actuall problem worthy of half the "bot invasion" threads that float around.
But the rule is there so they are not nearly the problem some people try to argue them up too.

Like Trolls, Bot's have been arond since the time of MUD's. And they will continue to be there, no mater how much the developers do.

Sure they can be annoying. Zenimax is working on getting them out. If there even are numbers and things like peole claim (I have seen next to no bots on the EU servers, or at least nothing that might not just be human farmers) they will be reduced.
Asking that they vanish is just plain ludicrous. So if we can't get totally rid of them, we might as well use the fact that someone else is helping in fights.

Hey, this is actually a better response than your first one.

The problem is, it's NOT one hit/credit, it's "proportion of HP in damage"/credit. I say this as there were a plenty of times I tagged a boss once and only once and got no credit. *shrug*
What do you gain by criticizing a CSR complaint?

Why should i bother to read what you type?
You have obviously not read anything in this thread.

    Just please stop.
The PRO-bot sentiment is getting old.

I once went and tested the "need min damage to get credit" claim. I attacked a boss unarmed, light attack, once - then let the farmers finish him/her off.
I did 78 damage vs more then 2k HP. That is less 4% of HP. My archievemt progressed without a hitch.

I just figured out that as a healer all I have to do is place my hot on those killing the boss and every hit while under my hot counts as if I also had damage the boss for that ammount.
I can get credit and full loot just by firing the 1st Resto Staff heal into the area and let others do the work for me. Talk about healer friendly looting system.

I think argument that bots are "ok" becasue they are not a problem, becasue they just kill things you would kill things is, well, how to put it...

It's a nonsense of a caliber that makes Family Guy look like a Sir David Attenborough documentary.

If I, my dear sponge-brained friend, would like someone bloody else to play a game for me, I would surely not pay for it. I don't even mention effects of bots like creating game economy inflation, messing up qoods rarity system, breaking immersion et cetera.

Sad world where people defend gold buyers and botters, to get things faster - and can't realise, they just have pixels not the memories of fun while gaining them.

Zenimax should release their own bot for an extra $15 a month. Farming nodes is a waste of time and boring. They already took a step towards this with the hirelings who send you free stuff.

I need 100 alchemy mats to make potions for one day. I dont want to handpick 100 nodes. At least these bots sell their illicit goods to real players for cheap.

Except that is not what I said. I said "you can easily work around them, give Zenimax the time to deal with them".
And if you expected this game to be bot free - sorry, but write way to coherent posts to be that stupid or naive.

I have know there would be bots since I first heard of this game existing/being planned. It some of the things you know like "you need to breath to live".
Nobody forced you to buy the game when it came out. And it's equally obvious that every game at launch will have birth pains. You knew what you were getting yourself into when singing up for this.

Bombarding the Forum with every little development in bot technology or bashing the Developers is not going to change one bit.
All you are getting is banned for verbally assaulting the staff and drowing usefulls stuff out with 1024th discussion about "there are bots in this game".

I think no one understands your logic.

So other people cheating has worked in your favor? and that makes it ok?
I assume you don't report bots.

It's disgusting how you consider reporting bots via the customer support forum is considered bashing, no-one is getting banned for reporting them, and apprently the bots being reported aren't getting banned either.

People are frustrated and post about them sure, and the DEV's can understand this, they don't take it personal, unlike your crusade to save the bots.

I recorded the bots doing new stuff, to show the dev's that putting a timer on boss loot in pub dungeons won't fix the bot problem.
And YES THE BOTS ARE A PROBLEM.

So you wanna dismount from that abnormally tall horse and go make your own thread and stop whiteknighting everyone else's threads?

Are you saying that reporting bots won't matter?
As in.. ZOS won't do anything about them?

You get questloot and kill credited (for archievemetns and quest progress) as long as you damage them once.

So basically the bots are helping you get the kills, by doing the actuall fighting for you.
Like they already help you getting the archviements for the dungeons.
I find that very usefull and can live with them making my life easier a little longer, Zenimax can fix it in thier own time.
Yes let's ignore the fact the game is broken.
