Not an issue for me, changed 2 days ago. I was concerned, but the change propagated everywhere.

Not true. @jamesharv2005ub17_ESO, this was before you joined in February. My first beta was in June last year (my profile says November, but they had to start a new account for me then because of an authenticator bug). There was no such thing then.

Ready for a magic trick? Your forum ID likely matches your original user ID. ub17 means you joined in the beta during the January-March phases (likely the later ones) as that was the 0.17 test stage. Going to go out on a limb and say your email address is jameshav2005 at whatever email provider you use. Safest bets are live, yahoo, hotmail, and gmail.
So how's that security working for you?
Working very well. What diff does it make if you know what the first part of my email address is? You will not be able to login my account unless you live at my house or have access to said email address. Again this is a non-issue.

Remember that little video with Gold sellers talking? Remember when he said "don't underestimate Chinese hackers." This is what "underestimating Chinese hackers" looks like, folks.
I don't want to hear about how you got your account stolen. Please change your user id.
You clearly have gone into a defensive mode and are no longer objectively listening to what anyone is saying.
He had someone he knew for 6 years have their account compromised. Trust was already long ago established. How are you supposed to prevent that?
What is a guild leader supposed to do? Make people tell him their private info so he can verify that it is good enough to be trusted before promoting that person with more bank privlages?
When you pointed out to my post that you agreed the userid and login creds should be different you should have stopped there and let your statement stand. However, you insist on continuing in this defensive mode which is not adding to the OP's discussion.

Who is this in response to?

Is there a way to change Your login credentials?
I'd like to know as well. To me it's a privacy and security violation and clearly a bad idea. You should be allowed to select an account handle that is used for the public interactions while keeping your login credentials fully private.
Me i just used my Online gaming name and im known as dreadmyst in almost every online game i play so to me people knowing that doesnt bug me as my password isnt exactly easy to crack
ZOS has done many things that other MMO havnt done and because they are doing things differant there are going tobe haters and complainers it does somewhat amuse some people to read. no matter how exited you are you should always read the white "bubbles" that appear when entering data as they generally contain important information about what that field is for and what it does. I shall close this comment with one of my favorite quotes "Haste MAKES Waste"
This is of course is something everyone should always do. However, that still does not address the concern here regarding our userid, in-game nickname, and part of our login credentials being the same.liquid_wolf wrote: »http://xkcd.com/936/

For those of you who want to be as secure as possible.
