Have some cute stories myself from last run, first two was an guild run, we had an policy not to kill solo questers so the guy sneaking right trough our group probably felt like an B2 bomber. Standard was to throw some aoe or LA but he was so funny.
Or the lady going AFK next to a quest giver in an town and coming back to be surrounded by 8-12 enemies, attacking us was not an good idea but I guess she panicked.

Got trolled by one going solo, it was an AD owned overflow campaign, ran into an enemy who looked like he was struggling killing an npc so I let him be and he killed me :)

    ...like me.
And yeah, I get MDK'd a lot while just questing. its annoying, but its how things are.
Half the time I don't even bother much fighting back (when I am in my PvE outfit, only when my characters are in "pact uniform" I make an -usually futile- effort)

And strangely... they always seem to try and kill you when you are on your way to speak to the quest giver to turn in your last questing or somesuch. But as soon as I was done questing and moved towards the long way home... did anyone come and give me a bloodport? Nah, I had to ride all the way home... :p;)

But basically... stop worrying and learn how to live with the gank!

When ganked, don't get worked up, simply respawn and quest in some other corner, coming back to where you got taken out tomorrow, or in a couple hours, or whatever; when the gankers have moved on.

And if you like the gank... go visit Imperial City, there is so much worse... ;)

If I *know* someone is questing, I don´t attack them. And I´ve apologized and sent stuff once, when I killed someone that I realised before the kill that they were questing. Because I know how annoying it can be.

But if not, and especially if I´m cranky, you´re getting the hot end of a magick stick. I´ve had it done to me, and now I´m propagating the vicious circle. I probably shouldn´t though, so I´ll try to be nicer from now on. K?

I don't get the 'behind doors ' town quest issue. I play AD. The towns I get quests from, the NPC is out in the open.

I just check the transitus when I get in and see if my towns are available. if not, I come back at another time.

Being a dedicated PvP'er requires certain mindset, which not everybody possesses. It's coming from your archicortex, so those of us who have our lizard brains suppressed by more civilised wrinkly parts prefer rather to cooperate than bully. I would visit Cyrodil more often if I could find some real glorious battles - less seal clubbing, ganking and zergs, more coordinated keep sieges and tactics. PvP in ESO is mindbogglingly boring and crude. And camping quest spots is the lowest of the low.

Or you find someone but they’re too polite to attack, heh. Sometimes doing the play dead emote in front of them works. If all else fails, I just go to IC then come back, particularly if I’m on a slow mount.

It's nice for once to feel a lot less like a red rag to a bull when seeing other alliance players.
Fishing in Cyro does that sometimes, town-missions during this festival, and a few instances during witching hours: friendly duels with onlookers.

I've seen some really persevering players doing their town missions, despite being constantly being chased off and being killed. Whispered one that I hoped he would get his missions done despite of it, and he replied "ahwell, that's life".

What I look forward to each Mayhem as well is those players that (re)kindle their taste for PvP
The influx of new (and veteran) blood is the true seed of Cyro.

As a player who mainly PvE and have clean Cyro quest/location, if you go in this area, you should be prepare to be eventually attacked/killed.
    So, not really a problem.
Also I had some fun "duel" where I find a guy ad bad as me who attack me and we end-up to laugh cuz both of us was healer and literally can't die or kill xD
After a little "Hello" emote we just stop and go on our side.
    Very funny moment ^^

Its a given I will die in any PvP fight. It does not even bother me that much anymore. These are the reasons I no longer worry about dying:

    1. My latency is nearly constantly 450-999+ Half the time I do not even know I am dead yet
    2. I just don't have the energy or desire to respect my gear + build + CP for PvP when i am not going to be PvPing all that much
    3. Its a chore not a passion - with such poor performance I have 0% incentive to even try get better.

Most fights I just wait to die really ... :p ... my skills don't even trigger + rubber banding really make standing still the only available option to prevent a disconnect. I cannot set foot in a large group or face a 999+ deadzone of latency, and if I go near a Keep fight I am disconnected.

ESO is in a league of its own I must say. Its the only game that hosts PvP that can bring out the constant "FFS!" in me. No other game in 22 years has managed to do this. The culprits = bunny hopping and ♫ ring-a-ring-a-rock....♫

Midyear Mayhem ruins my game performance like shooting fish in a barrel.. basically I either spend 2 weeks looking at a login screen or read a book.

Last night I got stuck in IC for 3 hours just trying to leave! After every disconnect my game complained of a broken manifest file and I have to reinstall the launcher files!!

Was doing a quest got killed (did not have time to fight back) the dude then sees it fit to message me a bunch of insults going as far as to tell me to kill my self. So I returned to where I died and the same guy jumps me, this time I was ready and curbed stomped him. My only reply was "sit down child"

I wouldn't feel too bad, a lot of those PVE'ers go full bloodthirsty in Cyro attacking even when you try to leave them alone. That's not a bad instinct in a PVP zone, but it's not like you automatically know they are just getting boxes. If they try to hide I usually just pretend I didn't see them while keeping my head on a swivel.

I mean, if they go at you guns blazing of course theyre fair game. I just always extend an "Olive Block" first.

Great term. It rarely seems to work, alas.

If new chums want to come and actually PVP that's great.

OP, I hear you. I try not to kill people who are not PvPing. A few weeks back, I was obtaining skyshards in delves in Cyrodiil, and accidentally contributed to another's death... my sorc pets went after their sorc pets and I think they got splash damage from me and died before I realized there was another player there. :(

Point is, I think it is nice to try and fight with honor but hopefully anyone in the PvP zone understands that accidents happen, and not everyone who contributes to their death has the "too bad for you" attitude. :p

I mean, i attacked some people in pvp, he went into block and just stood there. I assumed he means no harm. Then i stopped attacking. Another guy proceeds to attack them. I try to signal h to stop by following him with block. 3 more red come, the kill him, then they kill me. I came back and killed two of them. Ungrateful reds.

You really shouldn't feel bad, OP (even though I find it nice that you do). If we PvE people go into Cyro we fully expect to be ganked at some point. I sure know I do and I wouldn't be upset, I mean, that's the nature of Cyro. I've been lucky so far during the event, but I'm pretty sure at some point, someone will kill me - and that's okay, PvP in ESO only gets two events per year while PvE gets... I don't know, 10 or so? I actually find it to be a bit of a thrill, trying to stay unnoticed while fulfilling my objectives. But I probably haven't and people have just been nice as well, because they could see I'm a quester :D

I finally figured out a way to "control" my clannfear. If you're playing on PC click and hold Y, click the right mouse button while walking/running away from the aggro radius. I don't know how to do it on consoles, sorry.

I had to do it a few times yesterday and it worked quite well.

Edited: I'd also like to apologize to the player who was entering one of the quest houses when my clannfear attacked. Sorry, I didn't see you in time to step away. I hope my pet didn't do much damage and that it didn't sour your experience that day.

To the person who stepped on my AoEs as soon as I engaged the boss in a delve: Dude, I really, really, really didn't want to harm you, but my AoEs were already on the ground when you came barging in. I'm glad you didn't die, but you should have waited for me to finish the boss since he was already aggro'ed and if I stopped, it would attack me. Sorry you took damage from that fight.

Yes, there are a lot of lesser skilled PvP players even when there is not an event on. If it was a player just doing a quest they should realize it is best to stay away from an area where there is combat until it settles. Maybe they learned as much.

I don't see there's any skill required except for gear and mashing two buttons simultaneously
Bad players would be either pve or high latency ones there isn't any type of skill involved in this game

Experience IS definitely a part of the game. I’ve encountered a bunch of people in the event who just didn’t know what they were doing as far a positioning and got dropped.

They were mashing all the right buttons, block, Fire a skill, RUN. Didn’t work.

Skill is involved in this game. Some people are better at it than others.

I primarily PvE in this game. That being said, I've played a few games where PvP was just a fact of life and you could get killed just trying to do some questing. I'm not bothered when I go into a PvP area and get killed a few times. Obviously, it's going to happen. However, I think there is a clear line between PvPing and griefing a player who is clearly there just to get a few quests in.
