    Interview from russian mmo-portal https://www.goha.ru
    Google translate:
Thanks. Since we were talking about the battle, what about the combat system? Will there be a revision and its processing? Not everyone likes the constant dilution of abilities with quick attacks, interruption of animations and other crutches. Looking forward to the best?

Yes. We plan to radically redesign the combat system. On the one hand, our goal is to make the rotation of abilities interesting, without undue simplification, on the other hand, we do not want to depersonalize classes and characters. This is a complex process, but we are working hard and while in closed mode we are testing a new combat system, we think the players will like it.

And what? And now what? I have been training rotation with light attacks for so long, brought them to automatism for so long. And now the combat system will feel like a necromancer?

weird, my google translate says something different

    iKQ8e75.jpg

Yeah, looks different now  They do still mention a new combat system in the other question from your screenshot though. I wonder why they changed the previous one?

Also interesting from this interview - sounds like character models are getting an update!

Okay, thanks, next question. Do you plan to visually update character models, add more variation to hairstyles, etc.?
Yes. The answer is yes. We are already working on it with might and main. There will be no cardinal breaking of old models, because many are accustomed to their style, but we will refresh their appearance, in addition, new hairstyles, jewelry and costumes will be added.

Removing my comments as this article is questionable at best unless Zos says otherwise. I do not think Zos needs to comment on it as it should have been obvious to all of us that a third party secondary media outlet is not likely to get such a scoop directly from Zos.

If they really want to remove animation cancelling from the game, they might as well just shut down the servers now.
That would inevitably ruin what makes ESO unique and good and fun. And ultimately KILL the game.

If you don't like animation cancelling and don't want to learn, I advice you pick a different game or stick to the easy solo content.

A broken gameplay mechanic doesn’t make ESO unique, good and fun.

This might sound crazy, but is there any chance that there could have been a mistranslation with what Rich Lambert had to say? and then corrected the post with the original response? You know since there's a likely hood that Rich Lambert doesn't speak Russian. I know this sounds like a conspiracy.

The text provided by OP has nothing to with the text in Russian. It is not the translation problem - the text is really different. It is about performance, not the new combat system.

It says the same thing. In the original article though you don't have time stamp of its edit, while in forum discussion you have. Also in the post #23 user is talking (without quoting unfortunately) about previous content of the article.

What would be nice is a consistent message, and have all this information when they did thier live stream, instead of spreading all this out all over the place randomly.

This *** isn't cute or mysterious, it's annoying.

Read this interview just today, and I swear there was this part OP wrote, but for some reasons now the Lambert's answer is different. There was nothing about "боевая дорожная карта" (рус. combat roadmap) for sure. It seems guys from goha.ru changed the text a bit.

Almost sounds like they are getting rid of animation canceling.

    we can only hope.
this is Absolutely the Best news this forum has ever Presented.
    this is Awesome News.
thank you for sharing, and i hope this happens Soon.

I'll drop this game in a heartbeat if they eliminate ani-cancel. Might as well be turn-based strategy at that point.

This information is coming from a third party site. Even as bad as Zos is about communicating with us, to which they have admitted multiple times, this would be something they would have informed us via the website, a thread or their own stream first and foremost.

Does anyone have a link to information coming from Zos itself? Until and unless Zos says something on this it should not be considered credible by any measurement.

Even if that was true - I couldn't care less tbh.

So many things got wrecked by "standardisation" and "redundancy removal" it almost does not matter for me. As long as I can log in and do daily crafting quest I will keep doing it. Other content ? Nope. Not anymore. I am past the "adapt, overcome" point.

Ultimately, we will issue a roadmap so that people can see what we are working on and where we are going.

This would already be more than I hoped for. A roadmap for combat updates? Gasp!

And that they didn't forget about spellcrafting. Oh please let this interview be true lol.

This one would really appreciate such a change.

All this weaving and animation cancelling stuff is just a reward system for thoses with best ping. What I associate with the word "skill" is more picking the right skills instead of queueing up button actions within a few milliseconds.

If they remove animation cancelling the tears are going to be deep enough from the "MuH DpS" crowd to snuff out Red Mountain.

that said, just like most other datamined snippets and 3rd party "scoops" it is most likely going to be the pile at the south end of a north travelling camel.

It should be made into a turn based system lol. You use a skill, a mob or PVPer uses a skill wouldn't that be fun?

Have you played during PVP primetime lag? It already does become a turn based system there.

Interview were changed only 3 hours ago, at least last correction were at that time. OP have correct translation or so. I read this interview in russian before, and there were words about redesign maybe not radical, can't remember exactly. I think it were misunderstanding by interviewer and he changed that part.
