Thanks ZOS, now we'll have to put up with all the trolling, alliance hopping, scroll selling and other antics again in No CP. So sad. I know , there are are probably plenty of for this and against it but still, not really looking forward to that crap again. Heck I've witness people intentionally give the hammer to another alliance on more than one occasion since that was introduced even with locks. Won't be nothing to it now that they can just hop on another character.
Please, at least put a decent cooldown on it so they people can't just hop back and forth between alliances at will every 10 minutes

You state yourself that faction lock is not actually preventing things like people intentionally giving hammer to another alliance. Faction lock does not prevent these things and never will. The only thing it prevents is people being able to play together with their friends, and actually use the toons they grinded up over the course of years on different factions.
Having faction lock gone wont bring back more trolling, scroll selling or anything. All this stuff was possible with faction lock aswell. The only thing it will bring back is the possibility for players with friends on multiple factions to play together again. And after all, playing together is what MMOs are all about

You were happy about the no-cp campaign becoming non locked and then stated you were now waiting for CP to be to unlocked. CP has had the option for either locked or unlocked since they reinstituted the lock. I have no idea what your last comment is meant to convey.

Did it completely stop it, no, of course not. Did it severely cut down on the problem, yes, yes it did because people couldn't then switch back to the faction they gave it to and benefit from it. And I'm sorry, whether you want to play with friends or not, the concept of being able to switch sides at will is fundamentally flawed as long as they continue to implement a scoring system based off of factions. It would be like going to a base ball game and having the same player pinch hitting for both teams, it makes no sense.
And anyone who thinks this won't bring a return to all the drama and headaches we had before with faction swapping , spying, ect.., ect.. has obviously never played before faction locks. Not really looking forward to zone chat being filled with accusations of spying once more along with not being able to add pugs to your group because at least one will most likely be a spy.
The non lock people are pretty much totally cool with harassment it seems, all as long as theydont have to wait 30 days to switch campaigns.

Yes because the Logical conclusion of wanting to Play with Friends and/or all of your characters in no cp is that one is totally cool with harassment, wanna reach some more? Maybe everyone against faction locks is also secretly a cheater or exploiter? Could also fit your Agenda. Or Maybe we are all the devil incarnate? Pretty old fashioned way to make People that disagree with you look bad tho so Maybe not do that one.

Are you serious about that? Even players who Main DC can freely wisper their EP friends whats going on in Zone chat or where their zerg is moving. Faction lock wont prevent this. Or players giving the Scrolls to their friends so they can farm with it. I even saw more players do such trolling due to the fact they were upset with the faction lock and did this out of frustration cause they are locked away from their friends. Those players never trolled before.
Even looking at this faction lock from a pure roleplay reason makes even less Sense. My chars are completly different people why are they not allowed to fight in the same war for the faction they identify with?
"Play the way you want" is the Promotion of ESO. But not allowing my Orc EP char to join the war only because my Altmer AD already fought there is not how i want to play. It just limits my freedom in the game. I can even play as a spy in cyro when i want to do this. Spys are part of a war and even two faction working together is part of a war. When there is a dominating faction and the other two decide to concentrate their forces against the stronger enemy its even smart to change the outcome of the Battlefield. Working together only to betray them in the next step is war. War doesnt have rules but you try to force those rules on everyone cause you are mad about this. Those types of action make cyro intresting and fun cause everything can happen.
And to prevent players to get a scroll, give them to their friends you could simply put a cooldown on switching alliances. for example you need to wait 1 hour before you can join with another alliance on the same campaign. By this time a scroll would have already resetted or the zerg you lead into a "trap" has alreay moved on. Sooo many ways to prevent trolling without splitting friends or locking players away from their chars but atm this lock is just a very very lazy way.
Well, prove me wrong, almost every person that wants unlocked factions dismisses the harassment issue completely. " oh its not that bad, dont complain so much " , its a story certain people hear a lot.

Give me proof that every Player (or almost everyone if you will) that is against faction locks completely endorses harrassment.

I am all up for a softlock but 24hours are a bit much. 1-2 hours are fine and will prevent 90% of the trolling.
But this wispering Part shouldnt come cause it wont prevent it. There are other ways to communicate outside of ZOS control and not being able to have a talk with your mates only to prevent potential spying in a video game is.. idk. Childish.
And there we go. That right there is the real goal of the faction lock brigade. To prevent small scalers from playing which each other so they don't die to them.

I don't see how there could be the slightest connection between "harassment" and faction locks. Do locks prevent hate messages? No. That's what the ignore function can take care of tho. Do locks stop players from teabagging? No. Better get a thicker skin if it bothers you so much. Or just don't look at your screen after death. Do locks stop players from killing others. Potentially yes - but if you consider killing other players to be harassment - you choose the wrong game mode.
Removing faction locks from noCP PvP is by far the best change of those patch notes (probably the only good one actually).

Real disappointed with that in the patch notes.
