Really? Cloak is already borderline garbage as it is in my opinion. Don't get me wrong: it seemed seriously OP AF when I first started, but the more I play & the higher the MMR of the BGs I'm in, the more useless it becomes.

I don't see NBs as much as I used to, but when I do they're almost all super easy kills. Just pop a potion & their defenses are gone for 15 seconds (which is about 3x as long as I need to end them.) The real kicker is, they don't even realize their cloak is gone at first because there's no visual or audio cue that they can be seen.

I still get hate whispers on my magblade every now and then about how I must be running "exploits" because they can't seem to pull me out of cloak, but lately it seems like it doesn't work more often than it does. BGs are basically wall-to-wall AOE anymore, so much of the time cloak pretty much just feels like a wasted slot on my bar.

I'm toying with Dark Cloak now, and if I can make it work I'm just going to ditch Shadowy Disguise. It's not nearly as fun, but at least the game isn't loaded with skills, AOE, & potions that can completely turn it off.

Depends on your opponent. Cloak exists in two forms: overpowered and useless.

If I were to change it I would make it so AoEs no longer break it, but if your opponent uses a light or heavy attack you'll get hit and it'll break cloak as long as you were within LOS. This way Cloak isn't mindlessly broken, but intentional.

This is basically the point I was making, I was just being a bit more specific. When I was new & inexperienced, cloak seemed like one of the most OP skills in the game. When I got better with experience, it became less and less powerful to the point that I actually like playing against cloaking NBs because most of the time they're absurdly easy to kill. The strength of cloak is basically just an illusion. (Kind of fitting, actually.)

Not only is the skill not OP to me at all anymore, it's a liability for NBs in most cases at the level I'm at now. Pretty much every class in the game has a hard counter to cloak in their toolkit, and if yours doesn't there are three skills available to all classes that defeat it. And if that still isn't enough, you can just carry potions with you to pop any time you run into a cloakblade. Is there another skill in the game that is so easily defeated? As far as I know the answer to that is no, meaning that anyone getting beaten by it is getting beaten because they are inexperienced or just not very skilled yet.

According to Kill Counter, I kill NBs more than any other class, which is way out of proportion because I don't come across nearly as many of them as I do other classes anymore. In higher MMR BGs, it's almost all DKs/Templars/Sorcs/Wardens. On the flip side, the only class that kills me less than NBs are Necromancers. (Which is due in large part to both them being a new class and seeing them much less frequently.)

So, every class in the game is able to hard counter NBs. Are NBs a hard counter to anyone? So far, my experience has told me no, which is why I was kind of surprised you said you want cloak nerfed. Based on other posts of yours I've seen, it looks like you play as a nightblade and I would think you'd be more acutely aware of it's limitations than most.

When I first messaged the guy I was a little irate, but then he turned out to be really nice & it defused the situation. He's probably one of the five or so best magsorcs I've seen, and if you play in higher MMR BGs I'm sure you'd recognize his name.

The fact that you automatically assume I'm lying because you don't like the content of the post says a lot more about you than it does about me — and I'm fairly certain your pal Sigmund would agree.

Wow, where to begin?
1. Um, no kidding.

2a. What's "pretentious" about not liking that the bar of entry for your class is so low that any scrub can come in spamming Mages Wrath and get kills? That didn't strike me as pretension, it struck me as annoyance that his class currently lacks prestige — I'd be annoyed too if I were him. (However I am annoyed for the complete opposite reason.)
2b. I wasn't irate because I was "new to PVP," I was irate because I was on a magblade and Streak/Curse/Frags/Wrath in even semi-competent hands is a death sentence to the class in a BG — in skilled hands it's unstoppable.

3a. There's no magblade build in the game that can overcome the inherent superiority of the magsorc toolkit right now. A magsorc vs a magblade of equal skill will destroy the magblade — full stop. If you don't understand that, then I'm not the one that needs help from the community.
3b. Been there, done that, didn't appeal to me. (Magsorc was the second class I rolled after stamblade actually.) If I wanted to play a class where everything is basically done for me, I might have enjoyed it more. (Curse/Frags/Wrath are all literally 1-button autopilot skills.) I'm sure it's right up your alley though.

4. What exactly is it that you've written that you think I haven't read? You haven't really said much of anything, to be honest.

You don't have to continue proving my point that many [most?] sorcs can't be honest about how strong their class is, but if you feel like you need to do so feel free to go right ahead.
