TOP TEN - Crowd Pleasing Fixes (we'd love to see)

Top of my list would have been a fix to customer service so that they actually read, comprehended and acted upon the contents of support tickets, with proper oversight to ensure that if an issue has to be passed from one department to another that a single person is taking accountability for it being resolved.

Even on the internet, clear communication is important; it can be the difference between "helping your Uncle Jack off a horse" and "helping your uncle jack off a horse"; the difference between "knowing your s***" and "knowing you're s***".

    1. Agree.

    2. Agree.

    3. Agree.

    4. They've already taken action on this and I've noticed a noticeable drop. I assume its a continuing effort so I'm not at all worried about it.

    5. Bots are another problem we know they are aware of and working on. Haven't really noticed a reduction yet....but I disagree that their proposed change is a bad one. Even real players shouldn't be able to camp and farm dungeon bosses.

    6. Definitely not something that requires action from ZOS. There's nothing illegitimate about it (only rude) and its actually kinda an interesting opportunity for community evolution. You want to stop them? Give away bites for free. Start a Pay it Forward system. The bugs should obviously be fixed in the skill lines though.

    7. The guild store is fine as a concept. The interface sucks. The search sucks. It sucks that you can't set up a store anywhere but Cyrodiil. If they put searchable store front in the first zone of each faction (basically like an Auction House but more like a Market Place, because it's still divided by Guild Store) I'll be happy.

    8. No. Just no. They want limited inventory space. Its part of controlling the economy of the game. Its part of slowing you down so you don't speed through all the content (forces you to make trips back to town.) If anything they need solutions to stop people like you from exploiting alts.

    9. The UI debate is old and dead. The immersive and minimalistic UI is a key part of their game design and integral to their combat system. If you'd prefer a more traditional UI, use add ons.

    10. Would be nice to be able to turn that dialogue off I guess, but not at all a big deal imo.

They want the game to be micromanagey rather than fun?

Well, fair enough, but I don't anticipate long term success.

Have tried upgrading your bank and inventory space? Feeding oats to your horse?

    That's called a gold sink.

You need to invest time and money into growing your inventory. Systems like that are vital to long term success because it gives you something to work towards.

Only crappy F2P MMOs can get away with giving you everything at the beginning (for real money of course.)

The inventory really isn't that bad at all. If you're focusing on more than one craft maybe, but then you're doing it wrong. They likely don't want that either. If everyone can craft all their own gear, its bad for the game's economy.

I've had no issues at all managing my inventory. Every several quests/dungeons I run back to town. I vendor all my junk and white gear. I equip my upgrade gear. I put everything good that I'm not using in my Guild Bank for my guildies. What's left over I sometimes sell to other players. I put all of my enchanting Mats in my bank. All other mats go in the Guild Bank.

    Done.

I'd like a per character bank as well as the account one. I'm surprised this wasn't standard and us sitting here asking for account wide as well, but at least it's new.

I don't need nametags and am getting kind of tired of them being asked for. It's easy to mouseover.

I don't want the npc's silenced, it would make things feel dead and cold. Maybe if the ai had more to say it would help those annoyed. I guess an option wouldn't hurt.

I do get annoyed at the npcs you can hear miles away though..Please don't allow npcs to be heard outside a certain realistic distance from the player..please.

I would prefer they do none of that.
    1. If it's optional as in all other games I can think of you'll not be affected so have no reason to object.
    2. If you don't want to use such a feature you'd not have to and you won't be affected, so have no reason to object.
    3. see 2.
    4. See 1.
    5. Your objection to this would be?

The "I don't want it so even though you having it wouldn't affect me I object to it" argument is what you're saying at least for 1-4.

    1. Bank bug fix
    2. Cyrodiil loading screens
    3. Fixing all the broken skill lines (broken skills/passives)

Imo these three should be the top priority. They should definitely fix these before rolling out new content (even Craglorn).

agree with all of the points.
you could add to the inventory/bank point that it would be great to have seperate storage for pets and disguises.

I like to collect theese kind of things and think there will be a lot of nice disguises to add some variety to a char but right now I have to destroy them because "hell! where should I store it?"

And for the pets, I don't know if there are more than the monkey and the guar thingy + mudcrab. but I don't understand why I have to waste a precious bank or inventory slot for a thing that does nothing than following me around.

I'm totally in agreement with all of these 10 proposals, especially 7 and 8.

For me, the inventory juggling nightmare and lack of a convenient and reliable way to trade with other players are the two most likely reasons I won't subscribe after my 30 days are up. They really are spoiling my enjoyment of the game that much. I'm spending more time in the inventory management sub game than actually out adventuring. I like to craft and get involved in the game economy, but this game makes it very tedious to try and trade. For me these two things are a total design fail.

The gold spam is also a big issue currently, but I'm sure they'll eventually get on top of it it. Same with all the bugs. But the basic design flaws like the inventory and trading issues I'm worried about whether they'll ever be changed, they seem down to design arrogance on the developers part (play our way, like it or lump it).

As for the NPCs, why do devs think we want to hear regularly used NPCs say the same canned line over and over and over every time we access them? Don't they play their own games? If they did then I'm sure they'd realise how irritating these lines become. However, Amussa's "reformed robber of banks" line does have some dark irony to it given recent problems.

This may not be everyone's list, but based on recent threads, and some personal bias, I've compiled a top ten patch list that I think would be real crowd pleasers. Feel free to post your top ten if you disagree!

Banking is up on the #1 spot for me and the lady in daggerfall needs to STFU.

If there was 10 random lines they said, it would go a long way to stop my ear from bleeding.

    Dueling. No....
    Buying a house. No.....
Playing a mostly bug free game. No....
Using a real auction house. No.....
Being able to reply in the mail. No.....
Having the option to move around my GUI. No....
Being able to stay in first person mode while mounted or fishing or gathering. No....
Being able to tell what my specific resists are and how they really affect me. No.....
Being able to list items in my inventory by level or style or type. No....
    Adventure Zones. No....

    It's a good list.
I'd be careful with the inventory space "fixes" too (item #8 on your list), but I do agree that some filters or different tabs would be nice. I think one of the advantages of vast item varieties and uses is that people like fiddling with the storage management. Sorting, categorizing, introducing order to the chaos and so on.
Anyway, I also like your style. The list is sort of statistically solid, since you put a lot of time into reading threads and combining them (usually that's what mods want to do). You focus on what can be fixed, and you give suggestions even though you know you're not the professional.
I'd like to see you keep doing this throughout the next couple of months - and that ZOS sees your posts.
And let us remember: The game is young, and as you can see on other threads, comparing it to other MMO's that have been out for years (and therefore, have been patched and fixed for years) isn't always relevant. With the initial quality of this game (it keeps surprising me how much I like running around picking flowers...), the developer sure deserves some months of constructive feedback. And let's see how they take the feedback in the long run. I have my hopes.
Have a good day everyone c",)

Oh, and by the way, the dreadful bank lady in Daggerfall is called "Angier Stower" or something. I showed her to some of my friends and since then it's been a standing joke about the NPC's. It makes it a bit hard to enjoy the already-difficult-inventory-management. But at least I appreciate the other bank ladies a lot when I compare them.
It's a silly issue, but for such a small issue the frustration is completely off the charts.

Group Leader Chevron I thought I wanted nameplates, but I've realized ZOS was right -- no nameplates is more immersive. However, large group activities in particular are difficult to organize when you can't tell who the leader is. Just give them a different shape overhead chevron.

I fully agree with everything on the original post, too.

I disagree with all of these. 1,2 and 5 are standard in most MMO's, and I *thought* I wanted those when I first started playing this one. I now like the design decision in TESO with regard to them all.

It's swell that it works out so well for you.
But there are other people playing who aren't you, and want to play or try playing with a different approach.
Either the game devs recognize that there are other people using other styles of game play, or the game is going to be full of people who only play your way, and other people will be less satisfied until they move on.

My point is that the game either recognizes other types of play that doesn't impact other people, or it loses people who don't want to be herded.
The problem with society these days is that no one drinks from the skulls of their enemies anymore.

I'll let you know. I've upgraded my bank/inventory one level so far. Am saving for a horse, so no further. I didn't elect to spend lots of extra $'s for a horse to have the extra inventory space.
I've had no issues at all managing my inventory. Every several quests/dungeons I run back to town. I vendor all my junk and white gear. I equip my upgrade gear. I'm happy for you. I prefer to have to only sort things and return to town once per session (2-3 hours for me) personally in a game. We all have different preferences.

Personally I'm only keeping (some) stuff I want to research, one buff food/drink type, one potion for each base stat, basic resources for current craft tier, rarer enchanting materials (no point in keeping weapon/jewelry buff ones), style materials for the ones I like (ie 2), trait materials, treasure maps (mostly in containers) and trophies. Will probably junk the trophies like I did the reward pets as there isn't space. I head out with <20 in inventory, and around 10 free in 'bank' for swapping between characters. Rest goes to guild (if they are using it, our guild bank is pretty close to full, and it's not fair to expect guild leader to sort it), or vendor sell/destroy.

I expect to spend around 15-25% of game time managing inventory here, I'd like that to be 5-10% at most, like other games I've played.

I actually agree with you. In part, that is. I've invested quite a lot of gold in expanding the bags and horses in 2 of my characters, and also upgrading the bank. I lost 2 bank upgrades, which had given me 80 slots, and only re-purchased the first upgrade before reading the warnings not to do so until the bug is fixed. If this weren't the case, I would now hopefully be up to 100+ bank slots, which for me would be quite enough, even though I'm levelling every single crafting profession across 4 characters.

For people who want immersion, accessing every character's inventory from the bank is like a bad "deus ex machina" plot solution in a movie. It's a lazy move. But please PLEASE fix the bank bug already.

I also hate it when a door is near an NPC that many players use all the time (like the bank in the Pact's starter area). All you can hear is a door opening and closing 3 times per second...
