Endgame PVE

jasonkorea03b14_ESO
I was curious what the endgame for ESO is. Very new to this game and the series to be honest. Is there raids? (how many in the raid). Group dungeons (different difficulties?) Seems like a long tract to the endgame and wanted to see what is there waiting.

Thanks

Trials are the pinnacle of end game PvE. Dungeons fall into place after trials. Ofc, vet dlc dungeons are more worthy than non dlc.

Edit: trials are 12 person groups.

There are trials, which can be ran on normal or veteran. Normal is not that difficult, and is actually easier than most 4 person vet dungeons. Vet trials can vary, depending on your group, and level of skill.

The trials in the game, followed by their locations:

    Hel Ra Citadel-Craglorn
    Aetherian Archive-Craglorn
    Sanctum Ophidia-Craglorn
    Maw of Lorkhaj-Reapers March
    Halls of Fabrication-Morrowind
    Asylum Sanctorium- Clockwork City
    Cloudrest-Summerset
    Sunspire-Northern Elsweyr

Hel Ra and Aetherian Archive would be two of the easier vet trials, and can be completed without too much trouble for somewhat seasoned players. Halls of Fabrication or Cloudrest would be two of the harder ones, and need experienced players, especially highly coordinated tanks and healers.

Trial time completion can range anywhere from under 30 minutes to multiple hours, depending on the trial and your group. Some trials for less experienced players can cause groups to attempt progression at them for days or weeks.

Yes. They're called "trials". Designed for 12-person groups. Each trial can be done on normal (accessible to everyone) and veteran (a lot more difficult). Newer trials are harder than older trials. On veteran, there is also the option of activating hard mode for an additional challenge, and generally speaking veteran hard mode of the most recent DLC trial is fairly hardcore in difficulty and is targeted at the 1%.
    Group dungeons (different difficulties?)
4-person content. Similar to trials, they have normal and veteran difficulties, with optional hard mode on veteran for an extra challenge. Older dungeons (base game) tend to be pretty easy even on vet HM. The dungeons from the past couple of years have a pretty substantial difficulty gap from vet to vet HM and are fairly hardcore.

In general, trials are a little harder than dungeons, but that only applies if you compare content of similar age. For example, MoL (12-man trial from 2016) on vet HM is much easier than Maarselok (4-man dungeon from 2019) on vet HM.

In any case, there is a lot to do in the endgame PvE.

    Fashion, fishing and frolicking!

Beyond that, there are numerous trials, these are 12 people large dungeons which generally offer some of the best gear in game. Trials are normal or veteran difficulty, but some can also be done in different modes such as Cloud Rest, which can involve taking on different bosses at a time or more than one at a time for different difficulties.

Dungeons are even more numerous, are for 4 people and have normal and vet difficult. DLC dungeons are generally a lot harder than base game dungeons, in some cases a normal DLC dungeon can be more difficult than a vet base game dungeon. Dungeons also generally have a "hard mode" activated for the final boss.

Note that its a generalisation to say 12 people trials are end game, many would consider that its the speed runs, no death runs, hard mode runs and score runs that are end game. Lots of average folks undertake trials successfully, but the top tier players are doing what some would consider the real end game.
