You hate voice acting? The only good modern game I can think of without it is Journey and that game is so old!
The question is: "Would you like to be able to silence bards and/or other ambient chatter from NPCs?"
My answer is: No, I love the bards and the chatter doesn't annoy me in the least. I personally would not like to silence them and if the option was there I wouldn't use it. Also, there are a fair amount of QoL improvements that I'd put higher on the list, such as an armor-swapping feature like Dressing Room or fixing the Guild Bank slowness and stacking issues.
However, based on the reactions to comments in the poll, I feel like the question really is: "Would you support a new feature where we could optionally silence bards and/or other ambient chatter from NPCS?"
In which case my answer would be: Sure, I have no issue with this feature if others are interested in it, and if it was implemented it wouldn't bother me. That said, were I ranking QoL suggestions this would not be at the top of my list.

Oh, there once was a hero named Ragnar the Red
Who came riding to Whiterun from old Rorikstead
And the braggart did swagger and brandish his blade
As he told of bold battles and gold he had made
But then he went quiet, did Ragnar the Red
When he met the shieldmaiden, Matilda, who said:
"Oh you talk, and you lie, and you drink all our mead
Now I think it's high time that you lie down and bleed"
And so then came clashing and slashing of steel
As the brave lass Matilda charged in full of zeal
And the braggart named Ragnar was boastful no more
When his ugly red head rolled around on the floor

Eh.... not nearly as good as The Highwayman. I made his acquaintance at the ripe old age of 8 or so.... seriously not sanitized, and my mother would have had pink and purple kittens had she known what I was reading (but since she simply didn't want to be bothered with me, it never arose).

The imagery is wonderful. And Alfred Noyes had a sure sense of pacing and meter. The truly funny part is that this is a poem included in a set of books meant for very young people.... the Childcraft series. From Childcraft I graduated to Burton's translation of The 1000 Nights and One Night, among other things.
Of course, those are not "TES lore". But sometimes, lore isn't as good as RL literature.
In any case, every time I hear the "ragnar" music, I roll my eyes and leave.
not voting for the reasons discussed on the front page. Yikes.

What do people think this is going to accomplish? And why do they insist on mentioning this? Rofl.
Get over yourselves and get a sense of humor. I put "other" there, for Sheogorath's sake. Y'all are embarrassing me as a gaming community. Lol
You clearly don't need any help embarrassing yourself.
Why is this all of a sudden about one single NPC, overdose on TESO-forum much? Maybe some people should read precisely what is being written also. And as far as bias and supposed immaturity goes: So much fuss around options for audio settings, which wouldn't even have an impact on the experience of those, who prefer all audio channels kept active. Oh well... as if you would say: "I don't want the option for multi item crafting, because it destroys immersion!"
Makes sense.
Wouldn't mind the bards so much if the ones singing about Ayrenn in DC and EP taverns got booed, hissed and murdalized as they should rightfully be.

So I’d much rather see other things implemented, such as an ability to hide shoulder pieces and tassets, but I certainly have no objection to others having the option to mute NPCs, bards or anything else for that matter.

Yes, I thought about that too. This can be expanded even further perhaps, war and all...
@spartaxoxo Wasn't it you that wanted this poll shut up, because it is biased in your opinion?
