Please help. I was scammed by [snip]. I traded him 15k and he immediately logs out. Then he logs back on will not respond to any of my messages. Please refund my 15k. Thanks!

Screen shots attached of the transaction.

Wait. You want ZOS to refund your gold because you got shafted by another player? I don't know whether to laugh or cry... The entitlement generation... wow.

And by the way, they really don't like when you call out and name people on the forums. There's an in game function to report players (if it was actually a reportable offense, that is)

Why would Zeminax need to refund your gold? They had nothing to do with you giving away money to people. It's not even a game bug. You did it voluntarily.

If you don't want this to happen to you - don't give money to strangers. Even if they say they need it to process your Nigerian Prince inheritance.

Players simply shouldnt be able to bite others. This would avoid so many troubles: grieving, scamming, all that kind of rage because of it.
I wouldnt pay anything for something like this though and i didnt.

Good luck with that, in future remember don't give large sums of money to total strangers, even if it is virtual money.I doubt they will give you your money back, but they might ban him, or they might not.

This one might add that is is also against the rules to post screenshots with other peoples names in public forum. This should be done in game only. Shark might get banned for violating forum rules.

Well, be fair. Everybody starts out stupid - you only learn by making mistakes.

It's now highly unlikely that the OP will become one of those people who get scammed out of their entire life savings age 76 by a door-to-door trader.

It's not real money so it could have been a lot worse. (I bitterly remember being cheated out of sixpence by a kid I met in Cleethorpe sometime around 1955. - now I'm pretty comfortable)

    Lesson learned, eh kid?

Posters like you make me sick, you help make this community toxic.

ZOS will take action, a ZOS poster said so yesterday in reply to a question about scamming.

Is there one? Or is it whatever you can get away with like in EVE?

Say you offer vamp bite for 20k, collect the gold, then walk away. Will ESO punish people for scamming or is it legit?

Edit to add: I searched support and forums, but didn't see an answer.
Scamming violates our terms of service and we will address it accordingly.

So, care to offer an apology for your ERROR, not to mention condescending tone?

This thread is utterly hilarious to anyone who has ever played EVE Online for any period of time. You don't go about trusting other creatures! You simply don't.

You were scammed by willingly believing that another player was trustworthy. The cake is on YOUR face.

I concur that this thread indeed delivers. How I love CCP's stance on scamming. :')

People literally make billions of in-game currency by screwing people over in EVE, it's just a means to earn money. Wouldn't surprise me all those Werewolf/Vampire scammers were indeed EVE players, hah.

Regardless of whether or not you were scammed, it is against the rules to post personal information on the forums. You should remove the screenshots and edit your posts so that they no longer contain any information of the accused player.

Then, report it through the proper channels (submit a ticket).

Or people could stop being so damn trusting all the time, and learn a little thing called "If a deal sounds too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true". Much better, and I do believe Zeni has FAR more pressing issues to deal with than silly muppets that has gone about trusting others.

    1. This thread is hilarious.

    2. Don't trust anyone online when it comes to large sums of cash.

    3. Naming and shaming on the forums is a bannable offence, so there is a big chance you will be the one banned and not him.

This does not sound good, in fact it is way overpriced and stupid to pay for it.
See above for Zenimax quote that scamming is indeed violating the TOS.

And it is understandable, in EVE, UO et.al. i have the option to retaliate if i get scammed.

Here's a question for you all. Once thieves and crime are introduced into this game, would scamming still be considered illegal, or just part of the game. I mean, seriously, if I'm a member of the thieves guild and I steal or scam someone of their money, wouldn't that be part of the game?

Yo OP, mate contact me in game @srele or if i am offline just poke me at jovanamilosevic330 facebook or at my enjin profile which you can find at teso-rp, war on wings amazonia or at the-elder-coven enjin.com and i will bite you for free, no strings attached, i just feel doing good stuff from time to time. For example i was so freaking dumb and i couldn't finish one puzzle quest in bangkorai with some light colors bla,bla,bla..... Point is that some french guy who did it stayed with me for about 30 min helping me to do it, (he failed other guy led me through it in the end) but i gave epic belt to french guy simply because he wasted time helping me not expecting any kind of reward. I am a member of a Vampire-Werewolf guild so infecting others aint a problem as long as they are good people, besides you already payed to that guy for a bite so its only fair that you get it^.^

I don't know if it's an actual offense or not. But to the OP, you're what...35 years old and you let yourself be taken by a scam? And then you throw a public tantrum rather than go through the official player reporting system, like one would expect a 7 year old kid on the forums to do?

It sounds like you needed this life lesson. Be thankful it was in game and not IRL.

Note: Age based on OP's forum name + being in the OTG (which I believe requires a person to be 30+ years old to join)

    I have even better idea
How about a "sting" type operation with playing stupid easy to scam sheep, and then report and BAN THEM ALL?
What is 60k for pleasure of baning 4 scamming scums?
That teach them ESO is not EVE for sure.
And thread with QQ here on forum will be epic >:)
