Hi all, for those who haven't seen it, the community team posted an update here on the dungeon explorer costume. It's only temporarily disabled. You'll be able to wear it once fixed.

That’s not good enough though. ZoS should have automatically refunded the crowns and removed the costumes from peoples inventories.

I disagree. How would that work for those who bought it with gold via gifting? And some people may really like the costume and would rather know for sure they have it when it works as versus taking the chance they may be unavailable when it is up for sale again. Having the option to be refunded your Crowns if it is indeed in your collection, seems the best solution that I can see. It doesn’t help those who did buy it for gold, but I don’t know what ZOS could do there. Obvious the best solution would have been for the hot fix to actually fix the problem, but hopefully it will be soon.

Of course not, especially on a digital item. If they bought Crowns with gold they get Crowns back, too. Simple. It was in The Crown Store. We are not curing cancer here, after all.

Once fixed. WHEN? One month, two months, six months, 1 year?

If I'd bought it, I'd definitely request a refund. Imagine buying a new TV only to be told you couldn't actually use it until some unspecified time in the future.

They would have to honour refunds as the product purchased is not working as advertised.

The costume being removed "temporarily" is not the point. The point that seems to be getting ignored by ZO$ is that they gleefully took almost $20 worth of Clowns from people then removed the costume. What should have automatically happened is a refund should have been given to the customers since ZO$ removed the item! Once ZO$ fixes (snicker) what was broken, they could then reoffer the costume and people could then choose to buy it again if they wished. This is not some in-game earned item, this was something that took cash to buy and then was quickly removed due to some exploit for PVP.

Your examples fall flat. People don’t have houses, automobiles, etc. snatched out of their possession to be refunded. The item may be recalled but the person who bought the item then seeks a refund. Perhaps think before posting.

People who may have bought the costume with gold don’t buy Crowns directly, but pay someone to gift the item to them. Maybe you can think of reasons why ZOS wouldn’t want to just drop Crowns into their account? 🙄 More to the point, just because it is what you want, doesn’t mean it’s what everyone wants, not that I expect you to care about that. If some would prefer to keep the costume to be able to use once ZOS fixes it, they should be able to do so.

Evidently, it made people invisible and have a small or non-existent hit box when equipped with one-hand and shield in PvP.

I have worked in the repossession industry for years, again you're wrong. They sure do.

Most sane people replying think it fair for people to get refunds and to have the option to re-purchase the costume at a later date, of course is there for those that wish to.

Agree those that bought it should be compensated for not being able to use what they paid for.

While it would be nice for those who purchased the costume to know when the fix will go out there is no reason for those players to be compensated since we should be able to use the costumes once the issue is resolved. So they will be able to use what they paid for.

I personally don't Care about the costume as I never bought it ir wanted it. But I can understand those who did buy it wanting some kind of refund or compensation because when you buy something you expect to be able to use it.

If you went to a restaurant and ordered a meal, then within moments of the dish being served rushed back up your table and snatched the food away, telling you your meal will return back to you sometime in the future, would you expect some kind of money back or compo? That's just an example, could say the same for most purchase.

People generally don't like their purchased goods being taken from them. It's not that completely out there to expect some kind of good will gesture to keep the customer happy.

If yer gonna use an example, you have include ALL parts of the equation. You don't get to just pick and choose parts to try and make the subject look worse. Your example does not give any explanation to the eaters as to WHY their meal was grabbed and taken back. The diners would not have any problem about the food being taken back when the manager tells the Why they needed to replace it. Zos HAS made a statement as to Why the item in question was shut down.

As intended, the costume made your shield invisible when weapons were sheathed.

As not intended, sheathing your one hand and shield made the player themselves invisible and effectively invulnerable as long as they kept their weapons sheathed. Pretty broken in PVP.

So ZOS was keeping track of people exploiting, but removing access to the costume until it can be fixed was a good step given that it's involved in an active exploit. ZOS seems to have learned something from vAS, which they left running for players to exploit even when they knew it was going on.

Restaurants give you a replacement within 15-20 minutes when eating in there. Or you can exit the restaurant with a credit for next time....

As for the game - The problem is they dont give a time frame for customers who paid for it. The issue isnt waiting for it to be fixed, its rather not giving a time frame. The customers are owed that much.
