If they are competent at fixing the game, they’d already done so wouldn’t they. That improvement plan kinda a marketing lie for the lack of contents out, and it’s a lie it won’t be fixed.

Nope. I was anticipating it, actually. I uninstalled the game yesterday to make room on my PS4 for The Outer Worlds — fun, quirky little space RPG. Best gaming-related decision I’ve made in a while.

Face it, guys. ESO is on life support. Your money is better spent on games that actually work.

I am not surprised. Remember, after their first "fix" of the GF we informed Zos countless time that the GF was still not fixed. Then Rich stated last December that they had thought it was fixed which means they outright ignored our threads or to all intents and purposes that statement was not very true.

Considering Rich clearly stated.
we will not hold another in-game event that requires the Activity Finder until we are 100% confident that the tool can support it. Stay tuned for details on that.

Clearly they failed to hold up to that statement. I would hope Rich or Matt will step up to the plate and maybe and own this while giving us an actual road map to fixing this issue once and for all. Maybe they need to set the bar a little lower than an absolute statement this time.

For those who want to read Rich's statement from last December I will link it below.

I don't think they lie, but given the continued performance issues, and absolute predictability of the current fiasco, you'd think someone in upper management would seriously question competence. This is just getting silly. If I were responsible for the ongoing development I would be hiding in a closet right now.

But the people responsible are on record saying their people are "killing it." So why would they be embarrassed if they think nothing is actually wrong? They're probably in a meeting right now getting 'good jobs' and 'atta peoples' as we speak. So as long as the status quo is acceptable, and even praised.... then we have no business expecting things to get better.

Using the same definition by which the Undaunted Event technically doesn't require Groupfinder, we can say that ZOS has technically held to the letter of that promise.

The spirit of that promise, well...not so much.

Theres no way they weren't aware, long before this recent downturn in performance, that there was a top-end to what their game-engine and hardware could handle. They knew all along that as they increased in player population and the peak hours saw more and more active players, eventually it would get to be unmanageable. They didn't do enough to get out in front of this and even now as event after event shows they can not maintain this level of activity they continue to roll these events out instead of fast-tracking the fixes. Which tells you a whole lot about where their priorities lie.

Honestly I'm not surprised at all. This is par for the course with this company. Sounds a lot like ZOS and ESO needs new leadership.

Derivatives don't have to follow the capitalization of their origins. "Borked" is a state of being, not someone's name—that'd be Bork—so no need to capitalize it. See also: you can refer to someone as a caesar rather than as a Caesar, despite that originally being a name as well.

Having spent close to 30 years of my career in software architecture and design I'm willing to bet it is middle and upper management that's the problem. They hold the purse strings for software development and the hardware the game runs on.

Proper nouns usually don't retain their capitalization when they become common words. For another example, Mentor (a character in the Odyssey - sort of) gives us "mentor," both noun and verb. The word "odyssey" is from a form of Odysseus. The title Caesar (from the family name) became kaiser and czar/tsar, though those are admittedly less straightforward as analogies due to passing through other languages first.

In your case, it would be this:

The only thing you want to be careful about is that Imgur will convert .gifs into .gifv or .mp4s, so you may need to check the suffix, and might need to convert it over. Also, if you're converting an mp4 or gifv, make sure you use the preview function, sometimes they do not play when converted. (It's a file size limitations on the forums.)

That way you can just post:

I was very confident this would be a disaster yes. Anyone that plays on PC EU at peak times and heavily uses a variety of server reliant systems knows how unresponsive the game becomes. So anything like this type of event creates a tipping point.

Poor performing systems during peak period are many and varied: a few examples are:

-Activity finder
-Porting between instances/zones
-Trade kiosks
-Guild bank
-Guild roster changes
-Guild history

Things are so bad and their corrective actions appear to be having little, to no positive effect I wonder if they are considering splitting EU into 'two less than mega servers'.

nope. knew it was coming, and was surprised it even lasted this long. I've been calling this since April, considering that ZOS' strategy is so predictable.

1. do literally nothing
2. act surprised when the finder breaks
3. "fix it" by once again doing exactly nothing
4. act surprised again when it breaks again for the same reasons as before
5. rinse, lather, repeat indefinitely.
Shortly after the formation of the Ebonheart Pact, a Nord woman was given a tour of the Tribunal Temple. When later asked about the experience, she seemed upset. Suffice to say, the Dunmer were not pleased to hear this, and thus they inquired further.
"Well," the Nord frowned, "the priests were very angry and unwelcoming. They kept shouting things at me like "you can't drink that mead in here!" and "somebody stop her, she's running naked!" and "we can't catch her; she's covered in grease!""
