More choice when it comes to gendered options please!

I would find this weird if they didn’t allow you to wear female costumes on male character already so it’s not as if it’s programed to be gender locked, there could easily be an option similar to hide helmet for toggling style gender types or something. Doable? Absolutely.

Your link needs to point to the actual picture file, not an Imgur page *containing* the picture:

    xvNu66I_d.jpg

EDIT: To clarify, you use the [ img ] tag and put the link to the image file inside it, as follows but without the spaces inside the [ ]

    [ img ]https://i.imgur.com/xvNu66I_d.jpg[ /img ]

Notice the link ends with a .jpg file extension as it's pointing to the actual image file. Your link simply points to an Imgur page, the image is somewhere inside but you're not actually linking to it.

I would really love the ability to choose between the male/female versions when there are gendered titles/costumes/etc.

For example, the male and female versions are drastically different. I love the male version, but hate the female version. I would love to be able to choose which of the costumes my character can wear, but because my character is female I'm stuck with the option I very much dislike.

More ability to choose would be great!

No offense but armor is meant for protection, not to look good. What use is a chainmail bikini when it exposes so many weak points (like the belly area for example) to be instantly killed by a sword.

The baker costume is an especially good example of this. The male version looks great. The female version looks like a nun wearing an apron. Its terrible :(

I doubt anyone is really asking for topless female characters.

    Speak for yourself.

I think this is a reasonable thing to ask because a lot of the outfit styles do differ between the genders and I would love to have characters look androgynous (hell I've pulled a lot of those "I am no man" stunts to people with the skinchanger outfit so I want more of that.)

But I also feel that ESO is pretty reasonable when it comes to female outfits looking functional and distinct and not sexualized. But you can also make more revealing outfits for your character too if you want, you aren't forced to but you got the option. I also appreciate the wide variety of dresses and outfits that don't change with gender because it's great for everyone (I can wear a suit AND a fancy dress! Most MMOs would force me in one) so credit to ESO for this! I'd just argue that we need more sexy outfits for men.

P.S. Re: that person who called Sai Sahan's top on women a bikini, it's not bikini it's more like a sports bra :p

Nerd fact: medieval breastplates were effectively unisex anyway. It's not always easy to see but combat breastplates are never flat, they always bulge out a little over the chest and stomach. This rounded shape made them more resistant to frontal thrusts as well as helping to deflect blows. Quilted padding was typically worn under the breastplate and this would have been sufficiently thick across the chest to fill up the gap. But that gap between the chest and the breastplate also meant most women could conceivably wear that type of armour with little or no modification.

ESO is waaay better than other MMO’s, including GW2, in that regard! Want to look like a badass assassin? Too bad, if you’re female you’re stuck with leather lingerie! :unamused: Actually, I can’t even think of any costumes in ESO that differ based on gender unless what you’re wanting is to have your female characters completely topless.

Off the top of my head, Werewolf Lord has pants if you're male, and a dress if you're female.

The Nord Hero costume has some structural differences in the armor.

Elven Hero has an open back on female characters.

Narayu's armor has a bit of an open jacket look on males.

The Baker/Chef outfit changes based on gender.

Of course, Sai's outfit, Dark Shaman, and Arena Gladiator all have wraps on female characters for two obvious reasons.

Mazzitun and Fang Lair may be different. I think Argonian is as well.

I feel like I'm forgetting some.

uuum are you asking for slootier female clothing? not gonna lie while that might not bother me one bit hint, hint but I can see where it would um I dont know alienate like 51% of the population and I actually have to admit the armor designs for most of the female versions are kind of respectable considering how they appear in other games compared to eso even if cleavage in an armor chest piece would be dangerous irl watch a "shadiversity vid" for what i mean or "epic npc man" for the old female armor in games gags.

Or are you being realistic and saying that the male version without the form fitting shape that some armors female version have should be an option for female toons? Well problem is they have 2 different skeletons and the last time they mistakenly applied the male pattern on a female piece of armor it was an utter disaster I think it was the dc armor cuirass i could be wrong about the specific one I just remember there was one there would have to be a redesign on all female armor options for all existing armors and I don't see that happening.

I do wish we could get the robe legs as seperate styles from the robes chest styles meaning the dress portion over the legs separate for the exisitng styles so we could put cuirass chests over all the styles robes for the battle mage look there are only 4-5 stlyes with dresses for legs out of all styles outside of robes

There are a few skirts. Daedric light, Sapiarch, and Psijic all come to mind immediately, but this isn't an exhaustive list.

Females also can't use male hairstyles and males can't use female hairstyles. I don't think anyone could argue that would be breaking tos

Actually you can, not while creating character, but trough outfit system/hairstyles.

Actually, you can't. Some you might be able to but even if you buy the Cosmetic Pack: Hair Styles; some are still gender-locked. Females can't use the Bruma Burr Cut or Center-Part Long or Ponytail with Braidlocks, for some examples.

More than that, you wouldn't want pronounced, "boob plate," because if it contours to the breast, it will create natural weak points, and draw non-leathal strikes towards them, as they deflect across the plate.

What I'm saying is that the Breton motif heavy armor is a deathtrap for women.

    Because it looks cool? o:)

:) Sorry, I grew up with the fantasy novel & game art of the 60s-70s-80s. Buff dudes in loincloths, buff ladies in chainmail bikinis, and sorceresses in Yandy lingerie just feels "fantasy adventure" to me. And since it's a videogame (or tabletop game, or miniatures game, etc), it's perfectly possible. Since "medieval simulation realism" isn't necessary.
Of course, having everything be "in style" for your game is necessary, if you want to keep a consistent atmosphere. ESO's armors & costumes haven't really diverged too far (until people dye them hot pink & lime green, of course. :D ), so it works. Unless, of course, you're one of the people who objects to non-armor Costumes being worn in combat. Then, you're out of luck.

(but seriously - no matter what artistic style a game goes for, "looking good" is the most important part. As they say over on the Star Trek Online forums - "Space Barbie is Endgame" :D )

Golden Saint looks great on my male characters and I hate it on my female characters. Given that it's a reward and undeletable (I would torch Dark Seducer if possible since I loathe that one even on other people's characters), I'd really like good options for both male and female characters.
