Inventory hell - not coming back, ever (?)

They really do need to cull some of the mats.

    Enchanting:
Upgrade Ta to Green - Daily writs
Remove Jejota - Serves no purpose other than the rare furniture
Denata - Furniture / Leveling alt enchant
    Rekuta - Leveling alt enchant
    Kuta - BIS

Cull half the potency runes, half never get used more than once due to the CP system being a one time deal.

    WW / Clothing / BS:
In a similar fashion to Jewelry, only have 5 base mats.

Merge Iron and Steel into Iron (1-24)
Merge Orc and Dwarven into Steel (26-50)
Merge Ebony and Calcinium into Orc (CP10 - CP70)
Merge Galatite and Quicksilver into Dwarven (CP80 - CP140)
Merge Void and Rubedite into Ebony (CP150 - CP160)

Follow the same pattern for Clothing and Woodworking.

The problem would be, that you would only need 5 skill slots per equipment craft. Solution would be to remove the double farm speed CP perk and introduce it into the skill tree.

    Skill 1 - Craft iron
    Skill 2 - Harvest iron x2
    Skill 3 - Craft steel
    Skill 4 - Harvest steel x2
etc etc up to Skill 10 Harvest ebony x2.

The trait items, and their requirement in crafting should just be removed from the game for Clothing / BS / WW save for Nirnhoned traits. They are very low value and very common, they are simply clutter. I'd also say the 3 common traits (Arcane, Healthy, Robust) of Jewelry crafting should also be removed as a trait item, and the player should simply be able to craft them upon research knowledge.

    ---

As for items, they should introduce an armory for unique weapons / armors / jewelry. Like a collectible tab. If you find a uniquely named item, you unlock that item with no level req for all your characters (assuming they meet the requirement, ie completed the quest that rewards that item or completes the dungeon that item is found in). This would mean that pieces of a set can permanently stored in a collectible tab helping players overcome the dilema of decon'ing older sets for newer ones, it is less of hurdle if a few pieces of that set are stored in a collection, making the prospect of, if they have to refarm it in the future, less of a chore. It would also mean unique items would get more use and have some sort of value to alts.

TL/DR: inventory hell kills the fun (at least for me)! :s

This week I decided to give ESO another try after several months...
But a maxed inventory (bank + storage furniture, backpack + riding lessons on 10/10 chars) that's almost full, or even above max (my bank, I had eso+ in the past), made ESO straight out unplayable for me!

I checked AlcastHQ for the "flavor of the month" Sets, and spent some hours deconstructing/selling a lot of things. But it's still a total mess, and I finally lost hope and gave up.

ESO has too many things to collect (gear, consumables, crafting materials/ingredients, ...), but offers no help to effectively manage all that stuff.
AddOns might help, but I'm on PS4.
ESO+ might help, but I didn't want to spend money right away.

Maybe they'll come around one day and offer tools, bigger space, a free crafting bag, or some other means to make it less of a nightmare, or even enjoyable to collect (and keep!) all these things.
Or maybe I'll come around one day and just scrap everything, and deconstruct, sell or destroy all my shiny things and start over. :'(

I hate to say it but that's working as intended, the inventory issues are meant to make you want to get ESO+

They won't relax the inventory restrictions because it works, if not for the craft bag and double bank/furniture space I probably would not subscribe at this point.

inventory insight addon is essential imo.

Karthrag is right, Inventory Insight is a bliss, it requires a one time login on every single character you have, but after that you can easily track duplicates, decons / sellables on all your chars.

My advise would be to use your bank as your 'ESO crafting bag', and for all those things you use on different chars often.
From overland sets I only keep purple / gold quality rings and sets I often use for my character.
Hard- to get dungeon and monster sets I keep as well, with a preference for the jewelry. I allso made a few expensive sacrifices, but things I hardly/never use only crowd my inventory, if my interest is rekindled I will need to go farming those again.

Hope you'll find the spirit to reorganize again.

ZOS strategy in regard of inventory structure design is to sell chests in the store instead f symply add a "grid" to sort/hide stuff. Absolute half assed job done there.

You can buy the chests from Achievement Mediator, Faustina Curio as well. It just will cost you the necessary in-game work. Not sure which anymore, already got them via my crafter.

    Hi,

I could give you so many tips and advices, but I will focus on the most important issue - the crafting bag.
I cancelt eso+ a while ago (because of the problems eso has) and it cost me 2-4 days of cleaning up the mess.
But at the end it felt much better then before :)

I'm not sure if the free-test-eso+ week is available on PS4 too?
If so - the next one is coming soon - they come ~ 3 month.
During the eso+ test/trial week I buy all the mats which I regulary and even sometimes need in much much bigger amounts then I think I will ever need them.
I overfill my bag in that week, that I can get everything I need in the next 3 month from it.

After the eso+ week is over, I sell all new mats which are < CP160 and not LvL1.
I dont collect (or sell if I get some) all mats from inbetween.
If I really get problems to store the rest, I sell parts of the new collected mats a bit cheaper then I buy them in the next eso+-trial-week.

All stuff like the racial xxxx for crafting (english is not my language, so I dont know how they are called) or parts for xxx which I have already hundreds or thousends in my bag, will be sold to the NPC.
So I really have not so much stuff for the bag in the 3 month inbetween.
(And I still collect stuff, which I guess I will never use - so there is room for much more space to spare.)

I could do that "forever" like this, but ofc I hope that they get the problems solved so that I can get back to eso+, because its much more convenient.

Edit: Oh one second advice I like to mention - if you still need more space:
All "maybe I need it later" sets which you can buy and sell - get rid of them and buy them again if you really want them to use.
Exception for golden jewelery (and maybe as long as you can, the other golden parts.)

But you need to be ruthless.

I try to have one of everything as well. I will share how I organize items. This is with ESO+, nearly every character slot maxed, max bank space, and all 8 storage chests. If you do not have ESO+ you can use the extra character slots for crafting materials.

Starting top to bottom I use the character login screen and character order to store my gear. Hopefully this helps some of you visualize a way you can be organized in this game. I have 90% or more of the sets that have any relevance in the game. Try to always leave 20 or more bank space for moving items around.

Haha.....I was just talking to my guildies last night about this "storage" issue I have. My bank is just about maxed, my 8 storage chest are maxed, my 18 toons are almost maxed out and now that Dragonhold has dropped, I'm having to make hard decisions with what to decon. Yes, I freely admit that I'm a hoarder but come on ZOS, lets see a few more storage chest...all this new gear is killing me

I have ESO+. I have 15 characters, each of which I play (none are storage mules). I have all the storage chests. But I still have inventory problems. Why? Because gear is sometimes situational, particularly tanking and healing. I get a set that's not my "standard" but may be requested for a trial so it goes in a box. I generally only keep good traits (unless its a pita drop like the mending lightning). I also keep gear that I am collecting but haven't finished a full set yet, thus it's not wearable, like Perfected Lokkestiiz and Perfected Relequen. I'm not gonna decon that stuff because eventually I will have the pieces but I don't yet.

So all my storage chests are used for gear. A healing box and a tanking box and a monster set box (and I rarely keep heads from places like BC or Selene's if I don't have a character ready to wear it because they're easy enough to get), etc. I'm running out of storage for gear in my boxes and it's starting to spill into my bank because we get more sets with each quarter update and inventory hasn't been adjusted to account for them.

Then add on the awful management of things like siege, that don't stack. Runebox/style pages that don't stack and cannot be banked. Fragment pieces which take up to 6 inventory slots each before you might find/buy that last missing fragment.

I don't feel like adding 10 more slots as an additional in-game purchase to the bank (and maybe even character) per chapter is too much to ask for.

What are you keeping in the inventory, exactly? I used to hoard a lot of things and suffered from inventory hell. But than came a revolution. A looked at all things I kept and asked myself: did I ever use any of that? Some things dated back to 2016 when I started playing! They were sitting in my bank, than on my alts, than in home storage... I was tossing them to and fro, hating them, sinking in them. My answer was - no, I have no use for this trash. And I did a major cleaning. Some things deconstructed, other went to guild stores. Now I'm happy and free. All my alts are empty. My bank is empty. My home storage is a materials buffer: I'm not able to pay for ESO+ now. I collect mats, create stacks in my home storage chests and than sell them in a guild store. Just try it.

They keep adding sets and other stuff and never change the inventory slots, makes no sens. The thing is out of all the things they would need to address, this is probably the easiest fix so why not???!!!!!

If you play all aspects of the game (which only makes sense because why would you NOT play everything the game has to offer) you cannot have an empty bank.

I have 16 characters with 200 slots, all the storage and a full 480 slot bank. I could list all the sets I own to explain why my bank is full.

I have pvp, pve, solo pve sets and the very useful crafted sets I own in heavy, medium and light (shackle breaker for example) because some of these sets you can just use on any class of any flavor (mag or stam). To save on space, I've put prismatic glyphs on all pieces of the sets that can be used by stam or mag so I have only 1 set of heavy shackle breaker with tri-stats on to save on space.

I made new Moon acolyte in light heavy and medium now. That's 15 slots used with 1 patch and the list goes on.

Participating in pvp is probably the thing that exploded the number of sets. Youre going to try many different sets before you settle but you just spent 2 hours+ farming a set that is pretty useful but not suiting your current playstyle, are you just going to decon it?

Also, DON'T EVER DECON ANY SETS THAT WERE NERFED WITH A PATCH. Experience should tell you that the set might come back after another series of semi-thought changes.

I have fully golded Julianos, Mechanical Acuity and many other sets but only use perfected false god in pve. Am I going to decon Julianos? Of course not. Of you have the short mindedness of calling this hoarding then I can tell you that you're gonna spend more time than I farming sets.

In short, if you play most/all aspects of the game and don't want to constantly decon and gold out sets, you do not have an empty bank.

The game has clearly out grown the ridiculously small amount of inventory space ESO has ALLOWED us to have. I have ESO +, maxed character space, bank space and even all 8 chests and I'm constantly deconstructing and selling things.

I mean how about all sets are grouped together by name each there on section instead of scrolling all over looking for a set.

You don't have to charge for everything ESO, some things can be just included with your game once in a while.

its free to play at mo so why not make 9 new accounts create a guild and bosh 500 extra bank space
