The green provisioning recipe - more than just something to fill the guild bank with

Have you ever wondered what was the point of learning to cook that level 25 recipe for Pink Elven Mudcrab Goulash? The one you will never actually cook? Or brewing Finest Alik’r Cactus Gin when you will never drink it?

Well this one she has a suggestion.

What if it were possible to turn these green recipes into a furnishing recipe and craft these items for your home instead - either converting the existing recipes at will or having the furnishing versions drop from the same sorts of places as the original.

Instant usefulness restored to the humble and forgotten green provisioning recipe!

Of course this one appreciates it would not be possible to add alternative furnishing recipes for every green recipe out there all at once no. Perhaps though it might be possible to add perhaps ten with every future update?

Travellers always welcome a greater variety of food items for the home so why not base these on the recipes we already have?

I have a feeling that all of those features will be added as the crown store features only, like some kind of transmutation currency or stones.
This is not a topic but similar, I was thinking to suggest introducing team/raid provisioning recipes that could buff a raid or team for 60-120 minutes, you know what I mean:

It would be a bit harder to cook as it would require a bit more resources, but it would help guild runs to buff the team or to buff new players, but then I remembered that there is a Crown fortifying meal for 400, so I just scrap the idea as it is in direct confrontation with business model.
That CS is so handicapping to game sometimes, I mean I always look in a way to keep the player engaged in a playing the game as I do believe it is better on the long run for the game and acquiring new players instead of "lets put all in a store".

Ah well.. sigh..

Also, OP idea is good, I support it.

Neat idea. And you wouldn't even have to convert the recipes. The meals themselves could serve as components in food-oriented furnishing (the same way you need real fruit to make fake furnishing fruit).

Although a cool idea, it implies that every one of those recipes will require a unique model. Otherwise what is the point of having 50 versions of a bowl with some slop in it?

This might be quite a task to implement.

This was my dream since I started playing ESO. No craftable furniture or player homes were in game at that time - but I was dreaming to see this recipes as food and drinks in NPC homes, castles, taverns... The idea of food and drinks recipes to be furniture is awesome.

Yes I would love to be able to craft more items for my homes.

On a side note, make all recipes scalable so I can give my end game characters Highland Rabbit Stew...

This is a great idea.

The other thing that I think could be fun to complement this thinking is if recipes could be deconstructed for mats or a chance at currency that could help purchase rare recipes or ingredients. Or maybe they could just give you cloth.

I like the idea, but all these plates/bowls and mugs/glasses will be a little boring so use the recipe's descriptor as the item whenever possible instead. So that will be a Pink Elven Mudcrab housepet and a nice succulent cactus in a fancy pot in your two examples.

This one had another thought - perhaps an alchemy or crafting ingredient could be created every time you destroy a worthless recipe?

Crumpled paper or something like that.

Multitude of uses perhaps - lightning fires, mopping up after the orc?

As for the variety of the dishes - these could be infinite - there is literally a world of different bottles and plates and dishes and food out there. Oh if only this one could draw she could show you what she means. Nord foods in carved wooden vessels. Redguard cuisine on brightly coloured ceramics. Orc food in a bucket …

This one knows this is a big idea and has suggested adding in just a few with each update but over time this would become a substantial thing and very much add to the flavour, no pun intended, of our lives in Tamriel.

They should simply make all green recipes and possibly green designs account wide and once read never drops again.

They are useless (recipes at least) and only ever serve the purposes of level'ing alts. They clutter guild banks and guild stores.

I fail to see how even an entry level chef needs a recipe to make toast. Or somebody that can craft a shield also cannot craft a basic table. They should simply become 'starter' recipes that unlock account wide for all characters once read because they are so basic, and so useless.

Think of all junk items that would end up cleared out of guild stores, might actually be able to browse them with some sort of speed again.

It can't help at the very least. So perhaps @richo262 you have a very good point about making green recipe knowledge account wide and then there would be a lot less of these green recipes in both personal and guild bank storage perhaps?

One of the things about the recipes, if I recall correctly, is that we have triple the amount that makes sense because there is one of each type of thing for each level that drops from the three different faction areas. Before One Tamriel it would be rare and expensive to obtain the version of your recipe that was not your faction.

This adds to the clutter now and part of me feels like it might be nice for them to convert the recipes so that a single one allows you to learn how to make it all three ways. Probably not as lore friendly but still... oh the clutter.
