StamNB: not fit even for questing?

I returned to the game recently after 6 or so months absence. I decided to level up my Khajiit StamNB during the event. He is lvl 40 now, 650+ CPs invested properly, blue gear: Night Mother's Gaze and Hunding Rage. Purple glyphs on all pieces. Blue jewellery. Purple food. Skill lines maxed: Assasination, Medium Armor. Dual Wield 40+. All possible passives are active, including Fighter's Guild (it is lvl 7).

Now, the outcome. I tried front bar for now, daggers. And 3 crocodiles in Shadowfen killed me. I tried to fighta single bandit on Vvardenfell, and I had to use all the skills to kill him. It seems to be a sick joke.

Is there any sence to keep leveling him? I pay for Skyreach runs, and it seems to be a waste of money. My Khajiit is not good even for killing 3 crocodiles. I didn't maxed the bow yet - maybe the bow will change the situation? Anyway, I don't want to mess with 2 bars rotation to kill ONE bandit...

What level is your gear, if its very low like level 10 this can explain it.
You should have zero issues overland with sets even spamming something like spin to win

Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

You must be doing somethign wrong. Endgame groups aside, my cat StamNB chews through overland content as easily as before. Just make sure you have some defensive CCs at hand and use it when in bad situation.

There's something wrong there, it should be much easier. Maybe your gear is under-leveled. You need a heal, go grab vigor from battlegrounds or cyro. Rank 5 is not hard to achieve.

Khajiit is level 40, so I crafted a level 40 gear. Divine traits on gear, infused and precise on daggers

40-50 is a bad bracket. You slowly loose the One Tamriel buff, armor scales weird and you are not CP160 yet. Basically 45 to 50@160 is the time to "grow up" .

Even just by rolling and heavy attacking you shouldn't have died.

Sorry, going to have to call this for what it is: a hard attempt to ask for a buff. Just no.

I don't care for buffs, nerfes and so on. I just want comfortable questing experience. I don't do dungeons, so you're wrong.

Comfortable questing experience, yet talks about rotations and CPs.

Can anyone find the doubt button? I think it needs to be pressed, and fast!

If you can't spam Steel Tornado to kill 3 overland crocs, before they kill you there's something very broken about your build. Even without Steel Tornado, they should die very quickly. I write Steel Tornado out of habit; you might prefer Whirling Blades now. If you post a screenshot of your stats, someone might be able to give some advice.

The Silver Shards morph of the Fighters Guild ability Silver Bolts is also an effective ability for overland content. It melts groups of mobs and can be used as a spammable with any weapon. With gear within 10 levels of your level and stats allocated properly, it would kill those crocs before they could reach you.

The only issue I can imagine, even with a subpar build, might be healing. Really, for overland content, Leeching Strikes should be all you need. You can also use the Dark Cloak morph of Shadow Cloak, the Bloodthirst morph of Flurry and the Blood Craze morph of Twin Slashes.

There is also Vigor of course, but that would require pvp.

From my experience 40th level is almost the worst (from 35 to 49 actually). You have almost no buffs for low level character and you have not good enough skills (especially when selecting not the optimal skills but the last opened skills). I have finished levelling my StamNB with the bow in October (to the 50th level, not all skills are maxed still). It was not a ride in the park with just shadow and bow. Things became much easier when I put Strife from Siphoning to the skill bar. Siphoning Strikes were added later and levelling became even easier. I mostly used Silver Shards from FG for damage.

When questing you should only have a risk of dying when ignoring red on some bosses. For the rest it should be a walkover.
Are you using the heal morphs of the dual wield skills? It used to be a crutch for me way back when.

If you look at my other posts here, your doubts will be off. I don't do dungeons. I play ESO just for the lore. But this doesn't mean that I can't use CPs or rotation. On my petsorc I used to kill some mobs with 2 skills used. I'm not sure he is that good now. But I want to play a Khajiit character in Elsweyr, that's why I ask about StamNB. If StamNB is not good, I will just create another Khajiit of other class.

I'm levelling a char (at lv44 or so now) and while it gets bit rather slow to kill an easy WB solo, world greens, dolmen jevelry and whatever drops weapon feel still fine. And I can toss that gear any time cause moar drops all the time.

Survival first, then damage. Slow but sure.

ROFL..Did i ever tell you the story about how I had my bro lvl me up to lvl 50 on my NB?

Well I told him "don't worry i got the CP and GEAR to do it all"

When I got all that, I tried to fight and found out I didn't know how to play an NB... So I went to go do some regular quests to actually LEARN the class.

Now I have no problem... and NB is far easier to use than my main TEMPLAR...

Moral of the story it's 100% an L2P issue... dude I beat mobs and world bosses with simple light and heavy attacks...

    AKA

    Gladiator with bloodmoon...

all purples .. was trying to make a viable light and heavy attack build only...

With properly invested CP 650+ you don't need any gear until you hit 50. It seems you don't have proper build or/and don't use your skill properly.

Check your build. Don't use Alcast ones - they are for trial where you have a healer. Make sure you have on main bar one single target, one AoE, one "O, ***" skill. Think of any kind of small self-heals which will be keeping you up, even magicka based for now. Start making your leveling build from this point, it should be enough for any overland content. Add to it new skills/second bar when you are comfortable with setup you have.

Get training dummy or join social guild with dummy in guildhall and check your DPS.

Have you tried pressing any buttons?

Nightblade is the only class with a spammable ''let me survive'' button.

PS: My honest advice to you is to either get help from an experienced player, or watch a tutorial of some sort.

If you're really struggling you could also use the defensive class ultimates from the Shadow or Siphoning line. They are easier to unlock than the weapon ultimates.

Op something is off with what you're describing. There have been changes to the game but nothing that would be that drastic for you to be dying to 3 crocodiles. This is 100% an issue on the players end that can be easily fixed.

You should post your stats, the food that you are using, skills on both bars, your basic rotation, your Cp allocation, potions you are using, mundus, etc....

It is hard for anyone to help you without that information.

Again, it is certainly a number of things not going right on your end that could get simply fixed.

If you don't wish to do that on the forums, there are people in your guilds to give you friendly build guidance, as well. Good luck :)

I'm surprised. My Khajiit Stamina Nightblade is my favourite character for questing. I haven't tried soloing public dungeons and I generally hang around at world bosses until someone turns up to help but she can handle all other solo stuff and is a joy to play.

Not sure if any of this will be useful but... she has Level 26 purple gear (from the Dragonthing Russian Doll reward box, which I opened on the 'wrong' character), is about Level 42-ish I think, but has Level 50 Bow and Dual Wield.

I must admit, I haven't gone heavy on the class abilities (just Impale and the siphon health thing), focusing instead on race, weapons and armor. I realise this is more Khajiit than Nightblade, and I'll get around to doing more Nightblade things later on, but my catgirl's meant to be my main thief so she's a bit more generic atm.

I am on Xbox but that wouldn't make any difference, would it?

This is very... awkward. My low level chars don't struggle with overland content.

    Which skills have you slotted?

My NB has this skills slotted:
Front - Barbed Trap, Soul Splitting Trap, Surprise Attack, Killer’s Blade, Relentless Focus and Incapacitating Strike.
Back: Arrow Barrage, Dark Shades, Poison Injection, Leeching Strikes, Resolving Vigor and Flawless Dawnbreaker.

You say CP was invested properly... This is subjective... So, what's your CP allocation? (even if your char is level 40)

Stam NB is perfectly effective against overland content.

If you are finding it hard, you may want to slot some non-aggressive skills such as a self heal and/or a shield

    Good luck and have fun
