The campaign was low pop for all alliances at all hours of the day, people took advantage of it as a 7-day campaign to push emperor and nothing else really went on in there.
They replaced it with another 30-day, non-faction-locked campaign to appeal to the "masses", however that is still dead. To be fair, however, this campaign was opened up in the middle of Kaal's campaign so I'm sure people didn't want to abandon it. I truly think it will pick up once this current Kaal campaign ends, and if it doesn't everyone who was massively complaining about faction locked campaigns are clowns.
I for one love the idea, but I still remain in Kaal because it is still dead. I really do hope it picks up though.5 -

It's way harder to push and maintain Emp in a 30-day then it is for a 7-day. A 7-day is still a lot of playing but in the 30-day you are basically putting your life on hold.1 -

It's way harder to push and maintain Emp in a 30-day then it is for a 7-day. A 7-day is still a lot of playing but in the 30-day you are basically putting your life on hold.

As for why?
They didnt exactly say.
If you kept tabs on the forum threads, there are a couple likely reasons.
Players wanted a no faction lock campaign, but they didnt want the 7-day. For one, the 7 day just plain suffered from low pop and low competition on a number of servers.
Also, the 7 day doesn't attract as many transmute farmers because it takes more work on a weekly basis in order to get less end of campaign rewards.
It's harder to emp swap between different players on the 30 day because the leaderboard doesn't reset every week.
So whether or not the new 30 day campaign gains in regular population after the Kaal campaign ends (and who at ZOS thought offsetting the campaigns was a good idea?), one group that the new 30 day will help is players who just want to farm transmute stones on all their characters. Woot?1 -

✭✭✭✭✭Really I think it's just to shut up anti-faction lock crowd. Their reason to not go there before was 7 day rewards vs 30. Now it is that it's not listed first on the list and people who PVP somehow cant afford 100k AP to rehome. Maybe they'll next.put it at the top of the list, but then it will be too many people logged in already in the faction locked server.
Real reason is most players dont care either way so long as they are in the "main" /busy campaign which is really what everyone is admitting when they blame it on not being listed first. I mean; no CP isnt listed first, and while it's not pop locking, it certainly gets more life than the no faction lock campaigns, because people care to play without CP.5 -

It's for pretending to respond to the people annoyed at faction lock, without addressing the issue that there simply aren't enough people still willing to put up with the pvp performance issues to fill a second campaign.

Well when it was 7 days, you could go gangbusters for a week and get EMP. The next week someone else could and they could flip back and forth. they still do map flipping there now but things are pretty serious a week in and everyone probably has tier 1 on all their alts for transmutes at the end of the month.
Game has deep issues in promoting healthy play it fails to even attempt in either locked or unlocked campaigns.0 -

✭✭The hope is that once the current Kaal campaign is the guilds will migrate to the new unlocked campaign where presumably unincorporated players will follow.
What really works against this is the way the campaign was introduced — with the vast majority of players still homed in Kaal mid-campaign. That gives Kaal a lot of gravity that may be impossible to break. Because if a migration doesn’t happen in two weeks then the unlocked campaign may never get off the ground.- PC/NA

✭✭New unlocked will be Shor 2.0. If people were wanting to play unlocked they'd have played the 7 Day. What was the reasoning that the multi faction players didnt play there?
If you dont get a significant amount of the players to move there it wont get off the ground. Then you'll get everybody jumping to the dominant faction like it always happens in unlocked.
Rarely do the faction hoppers go to the weakest faction like the claim to do.2 -

The new 30days is empty atm because players from other 30days campaign didnt switched atm, for many reasons like maybe because the campaign did not ended yet, or maybe because they know the campaign is empty etc.
But, be smart
