MagDK is struggling, big time (Patch 5.2.3)

MagDK is this patch is still without a doubt, the worst class in term of sustain (and even on live server). Their dps is below average (since you can't do much with such limited amount of sustain power), and their only selling point is 10% bonus flame damage, which ironically, can't even help themselves, a full on flame DOTs class. The stat below is with 3 arcane trait jewelries and absorb magicka enchantment on backbar.

The "new" Combustion does very little to help, since the passive would only proc when the fire status effect is apply, not everytime the fire status ticks, and the time fire status apply is wildly based on RNG.

Here's my suggestion: Either reduce the cost of fire-base skills, or buff the dps of certain skills, such as Eruption and Fiery Breath (yes, both morphs), or increase the bonus of World in Ruin passive from 6 to roughly 10-15%. Cause right now, magDK have way too many things against them. They have a very hard to master rotation (compare to others), weak sustain, average dps and can only provide 10% bonus flame damage as a unique group feature, which only effect certain classes.

    Slot Mystic Orb. It avoided all nerfs this patch making it the absolutely strongest AoE dot with the lowest cost.

    And for magDK situation, I've suggested removing 10% cap on Engulfing Flames. That would solve a lot.

    I guess U23 was brightest hour for magDK with that bug about searing passive granting +10% to everything in ardent flame. Tbh, I saw that molten whip and FOO tooltips are a little bit too good in comparison to weapon abilities, but I didn't realize what's the reason and I thought it is my build that good :D

    Now back to ashes, it is clear that even buffed DK dots, even if they are best dots in the game, they are still much weaker then they were in Elsweyr.

    What are you comparing this to? Pts 5.2.3 has been up for only half a day now and nobody tested anything.

    Looks like a comparison to live and being surprised it doesn't catch up.

    We did it guys! DK's identity is back!!!
    Worst sustain ever!!
    Now build for sustain (switch to breton if it's not already the case) and survivability and enjoy dealing no damage with healing unchanged.
    Well done ZoS!! it looks like pre elsweyr (or pre murkmire) if I'm not mistaken.

    I actually have just posted my parse with stamDK, and it's much much easier to pull off, with better sustain and dps overall. I was comparing magDK with stamDK (probably not the best example)

    We have not seen a lot of testing on any other classes, so let's not jump into conclusion yet (though I'd not be surprised if magDK is going to their corner again).

    3k between stamina and magicka is not even a difference. It would have been like 10k on live now. It would be a buff if anything, but everyting should be properly tested before even making an assumption (waits patiently for some pro Asian pts work).

    Your regen food isnt comparible in both stam and mag dk parses... try ghastly eye bowl on the mag dk and revert back bar to wep/ spell damage infused. You should also be able to run infused or bt jewellery. Not that bt would be helpful on a 3 mil. TBH you are better of parsing on a 6mil to get a better judge for sustain...

    This test was actually done with 3 arcane instead bloodthirsty. And I purposely used witch potent to mimic how it should be in vet dungeons content (sustain isn't a big issue in vet trial anyway, since you can use Spell Symmetry when in doubt).

    I do wanna go for another round of testing though, with 6M and Iron dummy, but only when I have time to spare.
