I still don’t see why those should be stronger than weapon DoTs. Unless they’re planning on normalizing the with the next patch notes. Doesn’t make sense. Entropy being a utility skill and soul trap affecting many enemies. It’s also extremely Magicka biased. Just doesn’t make sense.

stam players use them too. you get entropy soul trap carve poisons and blood craze all from 1 player. only classes that really stand a chance against the cheese dot-meta are templars and nbs.

Are you aware that the higher damage morph of Soul Trap (consuming) only hits a single target? It also has the same damage as Flame Reach, so is already balanced with weapon DoTs. It is not a Magicka-biased skill, since it scales just as well with Stamina and Weapon Damage. It's arguably more powerful on Stamina because it does not require their main resource to cast, making sustain easier.

Degeneration might be slightly overloaded on live, but if the damage is getting cut by 33-50% it should at least keep the sustain benefit and return 100 magicka on light and heavy attacks. Sustain is looking to be very difficult in Dragonhold, and it could be worth slotting a low-damage DoT if it helps sustain.

Consuming may be stronger, but I can still easily get a 24k soul trap and that’s very strong especially on multiple targets. But whatever they’re being adjusted and I don’t really care. I’m still just wondering why Soul Trap and Entropy are receiving lesser nerfs when they have more effects than weapon DoTs, do more damage, and anyone can run them on any bar. It seems to go against the rest of the skill audit where easily accessible skills are tuned down.

Yes, it should. Generic abilities should provide utility and not be a staple in an offensive rotation.

You absolutely need to have them as good as the other dots unless you give other classes a great/better dot in the line.

This is the whole point of their (silly) play the way you want. I want to play with DoTs - then I need dots as good as yours. If I dont have them in my skill tree, then I need them in the general one.

It is the complete opposite of class identity - they need to choose one direction and stick with it.

I've already explained this to you before in other threads, but Stamina-based weapon DOTs are already the strongest DOTs on live (with possible exception to every-second-cast of Fetcher Infection). Essentially every single cast of Entropy that I've ever seen averages out to 900 - 1.1k per tick, while I've seen dual wield DOTs do quite literally double that.

And if Entropy is going to be a "utility skill," it needs to provide utility that's comparable to Rally and Forward Momentum.
