    It's just at the point where veterans hideaway and do their own thing away from new players. Happens in every mmo eventually. Look in to the crown trade places, eso is booming like crazy, just people prefer to keep to the groups they have fun in

    Completely normal. Humans rarely go out of their way to purposely find those who would challenge their worldviews and ideologies. In an MMO it's no different.

    Just come play WoW Classic.

    I always laughed about wow and trash talked it. Then one friend of my former raid team on ESO convinced me to at least try it.
    We both uninstalled ESO and play classic now. It is actually great. No damn cash shop in your face. No stupid changes every few weeks, Barely any bugs. Your class skills actually work. "Overland" is actually hard and you can die pretty easily.
    No *** random cash grab loot boxes at all.
    Its great.
    Combat might be a little slow. But it will get better the more you level. Still, a good trade off for a game that actually works. And where Cheaters and bots actually get banned.
    And you can spice it up playing on a pvp server if that is your thing. For some open world pvp battles to break up the questing.

    And the community at least in classic is fairly friendy. Havnt seen many "wow Kiddies" yet. And I play it for a little over 3 weeks.

    It is not dying, there is just no direction(that we can see) as to what the final end product of these combat changes are going to be. The swings from one end of the spectrum to the other are too great and the performance isn't fixed. If we ever get an actual combat roadmap and the performance roadmap actually follows what they say I think the veterans of the game will be much happier.

    I mean, the game won't be here in 20 years. MMOs aren't like (most) single player games, where if the software survives you can recreate the experience for future generations. When an MMO disappears, there's no way to recreate the experience, because it's as much (or, sometimes, more) about the community as the content.

    I found a citation from a reddit forum from a year ago that states around 3 million monthly, I would be looking for something more up to date but can't find much.
