The timing on this patch couldn't be more perfect for me personally.

I'm going to be moving with the wife across the country at the end of the month and will be going dark for at LEAST 60 days while I get everything situated at our new place.

    By then either:

    1) they will have all this foolishness out of their system and get back to making the game fun
    2) My ESO+ will have run out and I can make for the exit door and watch the implosion from the sidelines.

Honestly at this point, I'm good with either one.

Currently I only log on to do a couple of daylies and maybe PvP for an hour or so but I definitely won’t be logging on at all if these proposed changes go through. Too many consecutive bad decisions being made by the combat team.

50% general DPS nerf is not as bad as people think? I don't think that ever happened in any game

Talk about an ignorant comment.... It was 50 for dots, not DPS, and adjust your build... If you stop whining and l2p/adapt, you'll be fine. Actually, go back to your previous build and see you'll be just fine. Stop fear mongering.

    Damn crybabies...

If they are adjusting damage on several skills by 50% or more, the core basis of the game is broken and I'm starting to seriously doubt their desire or ability to fix it.

It's not about fear mongering, or crying as ZonasArch would have you believe. It's about looking at the bigger picture of mismanagement and a flawed development direction - if there even is a set direction because I can't seem to see what that direction is anymore.

With most of my buddies cutting back or leaving altogether I'll be hard-pressed to log on to do anything besides writs/some PvP.

Modern Warfare in October, KH3 DLC in the winter. Plenty of other stuff to take up my time.

People dont get that even if you tank or heal with the general drop in dps of their DDS everything will be so much harder for them too

I don't mind people having to follow mechanics to get through a fight.

Ahhhh but how do you feel about doing a Vet DLC dungeon and wiping 25 times when the boss is at 10% because your DD's can't burn fast enough during the enrage phase?

I feel like my guildies carry me as it is, and I've read tutorials, followed suggested builds, watched clinic vids, changed armor sets umpteen times and learned like 5 new rotations in the last year. Now my DPS is being cut by half in every single skill I was forced to start using after the last change. I'm not young, and I'm just really tired. I don't have the energy to start playing this game over every time they get a wild hair. I'm probably just going to decorate houses.

    I'm incredibly disheartened.

Same. Every time I get close to reaching that ceiling where I might be able to do the harder content, they keep lowering the floor again, and from what I’ve seen from playing on the PTS, they are putting me in the basement. And god forbid they would think about lowering the ceiling a bit. Not really sure what I’m going to do after the next patch. I’ve been wanting to go back and play a few single player games that I haven’t touched in ages like Witcher 3, so perhaps this will be my excuse. ZOS is lucky ES6 isn’t coming out anytime soon. They would have people jumping ship in droves.

Oh, but it is about fear mongering... Every. Single. Updated.

It's always the same story, "oh no, this sucks so baaaad" "I'm leaving" "all my friends left" yada yada... And every. Single. Update. People learn to adapt. Ooooor... If they aren't smart, knowledgeable or creative enough, they'll follow Meta set by some bigger guys that can adapt for them.

Always the same story, always the same outcome. Never changes. Prove to me there was an update where things were actually bad, unadaptable, and I'll shut up. Not even Morrowind sustain nerf was an issue... And that one felt truly apocalyptic to me.

Now... I'll give you this... Doubling damage over time one update, to half the very next, this feels like they didn't have a clue of how to achieve what they wanted to achieve. We're now mostly back to update 22 situation, which is fine in itself, but we just went through adapting twice very pointlessly. That's upsetting and I agree, but saying this nerf is doomsday? No. It isn't, it never will be. For you, for me, for anyone.

I promise you... This dos you're losing on pts, by the time it comes to live, you'll know what to do to get it back, at least for the most part. You'll be fine. We'll all be fine.

Stop crying about changes in dps, stop fear mongering, start complaining about the right things. If you whine and whine and whine, when you have a valid point, no one will lay attention to you. Valid point here being the lack of clear direction from combat team, not the nerfs. The nerfs are fine, they were needed, the direction they went before, that's what's a real mystery.

Probably cancel my sub and take a break and wait to see if they can salvage it back from Nerf Bowl XIV. They will probably revert it back and the ppl on pts with do their job for them again ( yeah right ) and then come back and adjust passive so now when you cast a class ability flowers will come out your butt and mushrooms will grow you can put uselessly in your house.......... See you down the road for the mushrooms suckers ,peace!

I'll both adjust (and probably go back to healing full time since i'm getting bored with the endlessly changing grind to keep my dps relevant in light of Zos's inelegant, sloppy, and heavy-handed approach to combat development), and wait to see what they do next patch. Most of the time, the initial pts patch notes just give me a stomach ache and I approach it thinking "what did they mess up this time?" rather than "what new cool stuff can we look forward to?". It's starting to lose its charm and getting boring.

Drastic changes every 3 months are not good for the health of the game. I mean, yes, I can adapt, but it gets exhausting, and I prefer playing games for fun, not as a second job.

Before at random dungeons (Usually veteran DLC) im 60-70% of the total damage most of the time, but i dont mind carrying them, with this new patch (if i play at all), 50% dps nerf i have no option but to vote kick the bad DPS or leave if it fails.

I'll give them a chance to fix these blatant mistakes before the patch goes live. If they aren't willing to admit their mistake and fix it though, I'm most likely gone. I see no reason to support a publisher that showed such obvious disdain and lack of respect for their own playerbase. And if they do go through with it, I know that ZOS has almost certainly gone past the point of no return, so I might as well get out before it's a complete dumpster fire. These patch notes have left me feeling very little hope that ZOS actually knows what its doing with the game or that they can be trusted to continue delivering a quality product.

I'm a bit disappointed at the changes right now, but I'm willing to wait out the duration of the PTS cycle to see what happens. I dropped my sub as I do not pay to regress, but I'm willing to buy it right back if ZOS can show me they don't want to balance through regression. I took an 8 month break when Morrowind hit live and another break might be refreshing as well. This is still one of the best MMO's out there. Their current balancing direction is just not one that I can personally support, even if it is something that others are on board with. I have total respect for anyone that likes the current direction, but there are enough unhappy players that it is something ZOS should take note of.

Now taking a break, a bit burned out anyway. Going to wait for the update and then for the first fix patch to hit.

When I come back will see how my main plays, see which set combos I like and then do some content.

If I have fun then I'll stay if not then its a longer break. Rinse repeat until I either want to play again or just give up.

No point in rage or hysterics or venting angst either the game is worth my time or not and considering how much I've gotten from it I really hope it is.

Well, guess i won't be coming back anytime soon, but you can man it up, and play a game that is regressing instead of progressing in terms of gameplay.

All because zos refuses to actually solve the few core problems, that really hold back the game.
