I think WoI already touched on this, but the cost increase is the equivalent of switching a spell damage enchant to a cost reduction enchant (or 2) which in turn negates the extra damage vs juli and hunds

    the set is fine

Probably going to get nerfed because it's a high skill cap set. If a player manage to sustain resources without sacrificing damage, this suddenly become the best damage set of the game, but if the next player have to sacrifice damage by slotting Reduce Cost Glyphs or Recovery Glyphs, this set become a total disaster because julianos or hunding would be better options in that situation.

Basically is a set for those who can sustain their rotation without any waste of resources. So it fall in the category of "things" that will make good players better and bad players worse.

That's why it's going to get nerfed, because it isn't casual friendly...

Also the Nerf is going to be to the damage portion of the set, not to the sustain portion. Because even if they raise the increase cost to 10%, good players will always find a way to manage their resources using this set without sacrificing any damage, so increasing the cost will only hurt the casual players who still learning their rotation.

Basically increasing the cost to 10%, 15% or even something crazy like 20% will only hurt casual players even more...

They have to nerf the dmg to maybe 400 or 350, to put a limit to the good players.

Why would Hunding's be better/ NMA be a total disaster?

    HR: 299 wpn dmg + 1096 stam (10,5:1 ratio = 104 dmg) = 403 weapon dmg.
    NMA gives 481 + 129 = 601 set dmg - 174 (swapped out non-infused jewel glyph) = 436 weapon dmg.

Not taking into consideration that only 299 dmg of hunding's get's touched by weapon dmg multipliers (minor/ major brutality, medium armor passives).

Only if you swap from dmg glyph to recovery/ cost reduction on an infused jewels (278 instead of 174) it (e: hunding) becomes somewhat better. Also the penetration is pretty neat outside of organised pve trials groups.

But anyway, I fear it will note make it to live like it is.

Yep. Sad to see cool set that is not even on live, but already we can see call for nerfs lol.
Besides - it is not a min-max set imho. DPS would not run it. And in PvP I would chose Schacklebreaker over this new set.
It is a cool set for hybrid dps, and we all know how "awesome" hybrids are in eso.
Also I like the idea of "kiss - curse" (strong at something but giving a penalty to something else).

Oh ffs... Proc sets? OP! Stat sets? OP! WTF is wrong with you people... This set has drawbacks in terms of sustain and max stats. 5% on all active abilities is quite a lot. Maybe test it before actually whining for nerfs?
I'm done with this game because of ZOS pushing us into Vengeance, because they don't know how to fix Cyrodiil.

I can't speak for pve content and usage of the set.
Pvp wise I for one won't be looking forward to mageblade's having the damage potential of a full fury stack while maintaining all the pen from a light armor build, combined with spinners I can easily see assassin's will crits in the 14k+ range against high resist targets.

We finally get a decent crafted set that isn't a proc gimmick like Sloads, and you want to nerf it before we even get to enjoy it for one day?

    Why?

If you think it's a stronger set that whatever you have now, all you have to do is make a set for yourself. What's the problem?

I don't get the itemization of this set at all.

481 with no conditions; 5% cost increase
498 with conditions: 20% cost increase (kena)

This set will get nerfed in PTS cycle, mark my words.

NOBODY uses Kena, so what is your point? You want this new set to be nerfed until it is as useless as Kena?

Or, you know, he's simply comparing new sets to old ones and see how big the difference is? Not everyone get's blindly enthusiastic when they see big tooltips.

E: Before you take this the wrong way. I'm not pro nerfing NMA. At least not before severe testing. But alone from the first look I'd say: buff kena if NMA is the new standard.

It'll get nerfed right after everyone switches to it. :D Give it 2, maybe 3 months. (The OP necromancers didn't even last that long before the nerfs came.)

All those crying for the set to be OP and needs to be DIALED BACK A BIT, let me tell you what will happen.
You keep crying about the set, ZOS will say ok let's tune it and if you haven't learned so far how their TUNING works, then no point me telling you. They will make the set go so deep into Oblivion, no one will even think of using it.
It's a crafted set ffs. Every one and their mothers have access to it. Stam and Mag alike. You cant complain that this set makes Mag classes or Stam classes OP to each other. Every class can use it.

SO FFS LET IT BE AND ATLEAST MAKE IT TO LIVE.

I actually like it being a good crafted set. Tune it down a little, increase cost to 10%, minimally reduced damage. Keep it competitive and give it more downside. The kiss/curse mechanic is fun.

I do think for the damage it provides it should be more than what is negated by alteration/acrobat + imperial or just seducer.

    There's few arguments against it:
    1) Power creep, which leads to skill nerfs. People were doing 100k dps and burning through content, so we ended up with patch notes like 5.2 where everything gets nerfed to oblivion.
    2) Hurts diversity. Like Mechanical Acuity back in the day. Every DPS build was running it.
    3) Devalues other sets and content. Why farm other dungeon sets when a crafted set is superior. Scathing Mage, Automaton, Briarheart, Silks of the Sun, Tzogvin, Netch, Leviathan, Spell Strategist, Burning Spellweave... no point in all of those really.

I mean you can disagree, but they are not bad arguments.

I mean you can disagree, but they are not bad arguments.

Majority of sets you mentioned, can be used on one bar. This set requires 2 bars, which means you won't be able to use arena weapons or monster helm, which is major drawback. 5% cost to everything is not something to be ignored, 8% cost decrease from FG is very noticeable! Just compare 129 SD + 1k mag + 8% cost reduction + extra resources on killed mobs... vs 481 SD and 5% cost increase. So in comparison to FG, you will have 258 more base damage with ~13% increased cost. So it looks even weaker then Kena if put in such scenario. And FG is considered easy to use set, with Siroria more powerful if handled properly.

So until extensive testing is done no point to cry about nerfing it. It maybe an interesting option to some builds, but to tell that it outclasses all other sets... no. In PVP it might look neat, but PVP is even more tight from sustain point of view, and 5% cost increase will hit you hard.

I'm pretty sure the new set that offers a flat 20% movement speed increase on a 5 piece just for casting a shield, will eventually be an equally controversial topic.

There's going to be lots of fast Wizards running around lol!

Good. COnsidering that kitying is Sorcerer's identity, I think that they should have it. However considering how that would drastically decrease ward strenght I don't see this becoming as dominant as you might imagine.

I really like the fact that this set allows sustain races to effectively trade some of their sustain to get more damage. I would love to see more sets that give extra bonuses but also give a penalty. A set that gives extra damage at the cost of max health could really help close the DPS gap between tank and damage races.

That said, I don't see NMA becoming BiS, at least for PvE. It could have a place, but sets like Relequen, Lokkestiiz, and False God are just too good to pass up in most situations.
