What was your favorite moment during the IC event?

Now that the IC event is all but over, what was your favorite moment?

For me, it was when I snuck into EP sewer territory hoping to grab the skyshard closest to the center, and ended up getting chased by one of the Coldharbour bosses. I tried to run away, but try as I might, I just couldn't shake him. Each time I thought I had gotten out of sight while running through the twisty corridors, I tried to go into sneak mode but my clannfear kept giving me away-- and I needed to keep calling on his healing ability to stay alive.

The worst thing was, I'd just found the room with the skyshard right when I ran into the boss, and when I tried to run away I kept finding myself back in that same room again and again because I was unintentionally running around in a big circle, when I was actually hoping to make it back to the doorway to the central section. I would have tried to look at my map, but I was too busy trying to stay one step ahead of the boss and didn't want to risk it.

I even ran into a few EP players, who tried to attack me, but then the boss came running up after me and in the confusion I managed to get away. Unfortunately, the EP players must not have engaged the boss, because he kept coming after me. After about 5 minutes or more of running in circles, the boss finally killed me. I wasn't too happy about all the Tel Var I lost, but it was such a fun Three Stooges moment that I just laughed about the whole thing.

So after I released, I went back and tried again, and eventually managed to grab the skyshard.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!

I grabbed the IC DLC when they put it up for free, but I haven't been there yet.
I'm not quite ready (good enough, to my own satisfaction) yet, to go there.

Also, I was seeing too many complaints from everyone (PvP and PvE) which dissuaded me from venturing in there during the event.
But I grabbed it while it was free because I will try it out one day.

Gankers. Gotta be the banana gankers.

One of them came in chasing a mid-20s lowbie, and I nuked 'em while they came into the room. Then they backed up into my caltrops, and melted under acid spray and poison injection.

One came into a room where four of us where in stealth, saw one player mucking around in his inventory and caltropsed the guy. Instant melt.

Another 3v2, where they saw a lowbie moving through the sewers alone, and came into the room where I was waiting for a boss to respawn.

There was another time waiting on a boss, where three players started playing music using the emotes. That was a nice moment. But, it was the players who I snuffed that stick with me.

    I died.

I got my tickets in the early morning, so there werent too many players on. That morning, there were about ten or so other EP waiting with me around Wadracki our nearest sewer boss. I was in stealth on my Stam Warden, but the other EP were very active, tossing AOEs down where Wadracki is going to spawn.

I comment to a guildie, "We're prime targets here, I ought to tell them to stealth up."

No sooner had I begun to type that warning in /say chat than we got bombed by 3 AD.

They missed me in the first attack since I was tucked in a corner in stealth. I think, "Okay, 3 of them. If I heal the other EP, we can take them."

I pop my Warden trees ultimate to heal my allies, pop out of stealth...and the other EP are dead. I died a few seconds later, laughing my head off at the irony of the timing.

See, it was a well-played, but rather predictable bombing attempt on group of players who handily outnumbered the attackers if only we'd been paying attention to our surroundings instead of impatiently waiting for the boss spawn.

The best part was several days later when I was back for more tickets. There were about 4 other EP around, with only one not stealthing out. An AD ganker attacks the one EP who's not in stealth...and the other 4 of us pop out to attack the AD. We drove the AD off, the ganker tried again, and got mashed by more EP players waiting in stealth.

And thats why, if you have to wait in the PVP area, you stealth out or hold block and buff up, and/or use detect skills or potions. :)

I can understand why it wasn't for everybody. After my first few trips to Cyrodiil and the Imperial City a couple of years ago, I was in no hurry to ever go back except to do treasure maps and master writs.

But this year the Cyrodiil event and IC event have been my favorite ones, although I didn't start to really get into them until they were each about halfway over.

Fortunately, one doesn't need an event as an excuse to go there, and in some ways the events are the worst times to go there (although in other ways they're the best times to go there). My recommendation is to just go, and not be worried that you'll get killed-- because you will definitely get killed, but since you can't really die in this game (that is, die for good), there's no reason to let that stop you from going there.

Me coming across a lone AD player standing on a flag in IC. Of course I couldnt allow that and went charging in. As soon as I engaged in a fight with the lone AD, 20 others popped out of stealth and instantly destroyed me.Well played AD. I should of known better.

I'm not sure that I could narrow it down to a single moment. I halfheartedly joked about looting chests on Betnikh instead, but I went everyday.

I did the quest during the event. That was a blast.

Some of the more gratifying moments were killing spawn campers. One of them dropped several thousand telvar.

The most memorable death was a group of us had taken control of a district, then killed the boss, as we ran up to loot a bomber showed up with a well timed attack and had a huge pay day.

    1) My spontaneous sewers tour with another player (which ended with me zipping around a corner and barging headlong into a double-bannered boss).
    2) Taking the wrong exit from upper IC and ending up as a lone Blueberry in a sea of Bananas. I briefly thought of tiptoeing away, then I rejected this thought because pretty much all 15 of them had seen me already. Well, I barged headlong into the group screaming 'Chaaarge!!!' and went out in a blaze of glory xD.

I'm tempted to agree with you, but thanks to this event I'm no longer afraid of the sewers, and I've had a lot of fun soloing the group bosses-- and trying to help other players take out the Coldharbour bosses and Molag Bal (I'm under no illusions about how much damage-dealing I contributed to those victories).

Even though it's nice to be able to queue directly to the Imperial City, I still kind of miss the days when you had to make your way across Cyrodiil to get to the sewers. And it was fun to head deep into enemy territory for a mission, then head to the nearest sewer entrance because that was the quickest way to get back to base-- enter the sewers, immediately exit them, and you were back and base. That was before I learned about queueing to a different campaign.

Last night I was with my guild on Discord helping PvErs and we ran past the arena. Someone tried to snipe me and failed. So I lead the group to the spot and he tried to snipe me again and failed again. Then we killed him.

C’mon man, pick a different target for that weak carp if it fails the first time.

Snipers and gankers on these forums are always “its takes strategy and skill to pick the right target” Does it though? Does it?

It was fun, I don’t care about tel var so I was running ahead and sneaking around.

That one time I finally got to loot Molag bal and it gave me gold only because I had apparently killed him too many times even though I wasn't able to loot him.

The gankers this morning that almost prevented people from getting their last ticket because easy ganks are more important than other people.

    The entrance campers.

The Bugs with the seige rewards.

The painful amount of times I tried to unload all my damage on a scamp and never being able to fuly kill one.

So yeah I had lots of fun memories!

I was blue, waiting for gati sister boss, and one other blue.

A red turned up, did not fight back when the other blue panicked and attacked him. I put away my staff, the blue was irritated, stopped his attack.

We killed the boss together. In the next chamber, the red was killed by blues, but at least he could add Gati to the list of finished jobs.

Was nice to see that cooperative gameplay still is possible if players decide to do it, despite all the other reds patrolling the sewers that day.

Definitely the sewers. The groups that would run in and camp the platforms. By the end I had enough telvar that I really didn't need to avoid the sewer platform. I zoned in one day and everyone was talking about a group on the platform. I was thinking "there's 20 of you here, at least." I went out and sure enough they were on the platform.

A group of us went out and after a long battle pushed them back. One of them dropped over 3k.

I was excited to get a Molag Bal kill yesterday to get that achieve and dye color, but I think the most entertaining moment was standing with some EP at Wadracki, waiting for him to spawn, when one of the patrolling flag mobs sprinted (likely lured in by someone trying to reach the boss) into the room. The poor thing melted like a snowflake in the desert.

There was also the time when, while trying to reach the center, I donned my sneaking gear, popped one of my invis-speed pots and quick-walked right past an enterprising DC ganker who may not have even known I was there.

I think the best was the salt message I got from a small man group in my home section of the sewers. They were seal clubbing on 3 nightblades and a templar, and every time we pushed out at least one of the nightblades would escape and rez.

I slotted piercing mark and that ended quite quickly. The salt you get when you use mark is absolutely delicious.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. 1) Ran only WGT during the whole event, I haven't even entered the Sewers at all.
    2) Then after my final run, I decided I'd better open the Vault in WGT and cash in all the Key Fragments I picked up.
    3) I enter the IC Sewers, walk outside the AD base, crouch, and sneak towards the WGT entrace (it's only 4 meters away).
    4) I'm so close to the dungeon I can almost touch the door, then I get a 'Detected' eye pop and a DC Nightblade ganks me.

I rezzed and walked outside the base again, only to see the NB get killed by a bunch of AD players who were returning from the Sewer mere 5 seconds after I died. I entered WGT, opened the vault, spent my keys as I wanted to, no big deal.

This was literally 5 minutes before the event ended. After 9 days of sticking to PvE. All in all I spent 2 minutes in the Sewers in total. And still got murdered. Just thought it was hilarious. Plus I had literally 0 Tel Var of course since I hadn't done any IC at all, so that was a comfort too. But at least I got a reminder why I did only PvE during the event.

This isn't even mine, as I haven't yet ventured into IC (and don't intend to for a good while - PvP not my thing). But I was watching my husband play a few days ago, and he was chasing a wandering boss and got himself stuck in a piece of scenery. He was jumping about in every direction possible, switching from 1st to 3rd, and I was cackling at his predicament.

The boss kept coming close enough to get him in the AOE, but never enough to kill him, and at this point my husband is going "Kill me, Just kill me!" And then, two AD players came running through and saw my husband. "Hey, maybe they'll be nice and kill you." I said.

No such luck! My husband is stuck in a rock, leaping about like a man with a ferret up his trousers, firing his bow in every direction he can. The Dominion players stop and look. One of them does a laugh emote, and the other one starts teabagging thin air. Then they both run off to kill the boss. At this point, I remind him that there is a 'get me unstuck' option, which he uses, but we were both howling with laughter by then anyway. It was just such a ridiculous situation.
