It's...interesting. My regular work includes everything from writing what's essentially press releases on scientific research and editing a newsletter to managing disputes between people, giving legal advice and IT support, and I literally never know what I'm going to find myself doing from one day to the next. Only downside is I don't get out in the field as much as I'd like to.BaiterOfZergs wrote: »lmfao- only in MMO Forums do you see Do you want fries with that workers proclaim their...

Wow would you look at that, a wild hater in their natural habitat
Funny thing is it's not even hard to believe everyone's telling the truth...apart from the one who said they're the Queen of England, I'm not sure she'd have the reflexes for ESO. It's not like any of the jobs people have listed are wildly impossible, it's all things which thousands or millions of people around the world do. (Also when you look at what some people spend on this game - with virtual houses that cost over £50 - they have to have well paying jobs.)
A music forum I used to post on had a similar topic, with a similar range of answers. I met quite a few people from that forum in real life (because when you talk all the time and then you're going to the same gigs it seems strange not to meet up) and everyone I got to know in real life was exactly who they said they were, teaching assistant, civil engineer, lawyer, professional musician, dean of students at a university.
I agree. With a few exceptions, I find most of these fields perfectly viable. I really am the general sales manager of a BMW dealership - why would I think anyone else would lie about their professions?
I know, it’s silly. One person I argued with here before stated that I couldn’t possibly be a nurse (can’t remember how it came up) because I wouldn’t have time to post on the forums or play ESO. When I pointed out that we have days off like every other normal working human being, he stated that if I were ACTUALLY a nurse, I’d be “recovering” and “sleeping” on my days off instead of posting on the forums and playing ESO.
Like, having superhuman time management skills and functioning well on less than adequate amounts of sleep is kinda a huge part of my job, my dude...
I work for a valve manufacturing company.
Just an example of some things I build on a daily basis.
https://imgur.com/GAFVj0k
Our valves are used for everything from concrete to Starbucks.
I also love my job!
Wildlife Specialist for county government.
Basically help the public with a variety of natural resource concerns including: dealing with nuisance wildlife, pond/lake management, plant/animal ID questions, etc. and serve as a guest lecturer for K-12 schools and public groups.
Also work in conjunction with our state division of wildlife to conduct surveys for various wildlife species.
Fringe benefit of my job is our office is small enough that I basically set my own itinerary for the week (still have to work 8-4:30) but can squeeze in some “me” time to just get out and walk around fields, woods and creeks to photograph plants and animals for “research.”
Sadly, despite the awesomeness of the job itself, the pay is not so awesome. Just shy of 14 years in this field and I’m making less than 40k/yr. Thankfully my wife is the breadwinner in our household and allows me to do a job I love.

Land of ice and snow.
Trapped inside this prison.
Lost and far from home.
University lecturer and High School teacher, both in the electricity field. I'm in charge the students actually know and comprehend what's electricity, what's energy and why are those topics important.
Delivering knowledge to young people and make them think a lot is where i find the ultimate joy.
currently - my job is to be ridden hard, and, put away wet...
finishing my ninth year in my current role...when I joined the team, we were nine...now there's just two of us...it's like being in an agatha christie novel where folks keep disappearing all the time...
what do I do for work:
more, with less...
I hate riddles.
