We noticed this during a run a few days ago; boss took a really long time to come down the first time, despite us following mechanics. We were beginning to wonder if the fight was bugged, but he did come down eventually, and the rest of the phases continued normally.
On a different note, we wanted to run by the adds between bosses to make it faster to the last boss, so we wiped to them or let them de-aggro and moved ahead, but when we made it to the summit, we couldn't go through the portal. We figured that we had to deal with the adds and do the cleansing route, but the portal was still closed. Eventually we killed all adds that we had left behind, but we still couldn't enter the final boss area. Just a small side note, so that others don't repeat our mistake

@Jaimeh I think that the long grounding times is the result of a design problem and not necessarily a bug; see the link in my post above for why I think that this is the case. If you see in your logs that you are losing stacks of the "Spider at Top" buff and can correlate those losses with spider deaths, then it would appear that you were just very unfortunate.

The gate to the final boss doesn't open if someone has the seed and hasn't cleansed.
