Rezzing this old thread I created because I couldn’t help but notice how much MORE negative the forums have become even since creating this thread. It is really demoralizing to see. ZOS has lost its way and I hope they can find it again. The constant bugs and performance issues is poison.
When I first started playing ESO two years ago, I was really happy about how positive the community is, in-game and on these forums. I was also pleasantly surprised about the extent of communication between the Devs and the community. It felt like the Devs were listening and communicating actively. Maybe I had low standards from the MMO that I played before ESO, which had poor Dev communication and a very toxic community. Lately though it seems that the relationship between the Devs and the community has soured. I wouldn’t say it’s toxic, but its not as up-beat. I think the performance issues have taken a toll on a lot of people, and it doesn’t help that the Dev’s are radio silent about it, which only exasterbates the community’s frustration. The game’s outlook does not seem as positive as it once was. Am I accurate in this assessment our just out of touch? Share your thoughts.

Everyone on the forum is horrible and its all ZOS' fault.
Kay.

Makes sense that you stuck around then...
"Civilized men are more discourteous than savages because they know they can be impolite without having their skulls split, as a general thing.”
― Robert E. Howard
Communication is a huge issue.
Case and point: They put out an update for a major bug last night that required a patch, and they didn't even tell us with a message on the top of the forum that it was coming.
Communication is a huge issue....although, any adult that spends time on these forums find the self appointed trolls insufferable. So not communicating with the community is, at least to a certain extent, totally understandable.

Absolutely dead on. Have been here since beta as well. I remember the uproar over the API at launch. Entitled, toxic people that post completely hostile and insulting rants directed at the developers and then wonder why responses are limited !

You realize that as a customer of a product, such as ESO; you are allowed to be entitled? I mean, this is how this whole services industry/consumer process works. I fail to understand your gripe against the customer.
Not to minimize the issues expressed in the forums, but I don't think the forums are representative of the community. It's a pretty skewed bunch. Not many come here to express their pleasure with chasing motifs, picking flowers, dressing up toons, getting free stuff, decorating homes, and hanging with guild mates.
That being said, if I were to read these forums as they currently are before purchasing the game, I'd probably give it a pass. It makes things seem a lot worse than they are. Again, that doesn't mean there aren't some real issues causing the negativity. If you're mainly into combat, things like the latest round of nerfs, can drive you to feel like quitting at times. If you're just into crafting, you don't really care and aren't here protesting.

As somebody who worked as a retail manager for twenty years for a company that hung its hat on customer service I feel like I’m pretty qualified to say that you guys expect an awful lot for twenty bucks!
I play the game since Beta and almost subscribed all the time.
Yes, they added perfect contents to the game. Such as BG, MSA, Dueling, New Trials, Housing, New Classes, etc...
But while doing that they destroy the game performance. Yes, many new contents but you cant play it in harmony, without bugs, game crashes, lags, or unbalanced classes.
They need to fix the game first. It should be all playable for everybody. I have 1 gig internet with rtx2080 and I suffer from lags and high pings. What!!! I need to have a computer that NASA has to be able to play this game. Of course not. And the other worst thing is that they are not communicating with their community here. They act like they listen and then nothing. There was even one guy who started the zos a few months ago. He wrote that every time I will be here to communicate with you and that was his first and last time communicating with us:)))

You click on a thread thinking it might be about something else, but nope, it's just another complaint thread related to pvp preformance.
Are we though? Does purchasing a product give one the right to degrade and insult the manufacturer? (Not saying you personally but anyone in general.) People are entitled to get what they pay for, sure, but toxic and insulting posts will not get anyone anywhere. These are just people trying to do a job. If everyone was a bit more sympathetic of this fact we might actually get a bit more communication. I’m sure they are not sitting back trying to degrade performance, and figure out how best to upset the community.Rain_Greyraven wrote: »Ummmmm been here since beta, this community has always been a toxic hellhole of trolls and crybabies.

lol what? They've been following the same balancing schedule for the past couple of years, how is it "increasing in frequency?"
Maybe the scale of the changes is increasing (each patch has gotten more and more drastic in terms of attempting to normalize things), but the frequency has remained the same.
