Class for healer
Hello,
I am a new player. I have stamina templar as a main and I am really enjoying it, but I also love healing in all games. So i found out that the best healers are magicka templars.
There are options like playing only for magicka templar and start new stamina character, but I would rather stick with stamplar. I dont like playing casters like sorcerer (only healers).
So my question is: Is there anyone who has both templars (stamina, magicka)?
1.) Is it playing for magicka templar different than playing stamina templar? I am affraid It might get boring to level up 2 same classes with same skills...
2:) Would a warden be a good replacement instead of magicka templar? For All PVE content + PvP. Or is templar the best by a big margin?

Mag temps don't use sweeps these days, so that is a major difference right there. Other then that, all the skills you would use on a magplar are completely different then what you would use on a Stam temp. They feel very different.. Would a warden be a good replacement instead of magicka templar? For All PVE content + PvP. Or is templar the best by a big margin?
All classes are pretty much competent at all roles now. It is really the players skill with that class and role that makes the biggest difference. Yes wardens make good healers, mostly because of their passive, maturation, 10% more health for those you heal. Tankdens can apply it easy too, magdens and stamdens don't really have a good way to.0 -

crazywolfpusher✭✭✭1. Both can use spear jabs. So if you wanna stay at melee, you can with both. At that point both play styles are very similar.
However Magicka templar have more and better class tools for pve since the best templar skills dont have stamina variations (radiant oppresion, vampires bane, breath of life, spear shards) but all those look very caster type skills.
2. Magicka templar can heal and do damage which is probably with nightblades, the best dps/healer hybrid.
(ignore this for trials though , trials healers are more like priest-clercis instead of templars)
Wardens and Templars are both great healers. I dont have experience for pvp with warden but my magicka templar allow me to play battlegrounds only switching my gear and skill bar. No need to change skills morphs so the transition between content is pretty smooth.0 -

✭Magplar is quite viable in melee with sweeps. So there's that.
Don't know about how it stacks up in endgame content though, I'm not really qualified to discuss that.
In PvP, jabs/sweeps are quite useful when attacking tightly stacked groups - the AoE damage and the resulting heal does wonders for survivability.
Non-endgame content you can effectively heal with any class if you use a suitable magicka build with 1 resto staff.
Between your springs+radiating, and any self-heals the other groupmembers bring to the party, everyone gets healed for as much as >10k per second - and that's not counting any class heals you might be also using!
Unless you are trying to heal clueless stand-in-the-red pugs, in which case, good luck with that...
IMO, Templar and Warden are the 2 best classes for a dedicated healer, because of their excellent class heals. DK and NB can also be decent at healing, and Sorc is by far the worst of the lot. (don't have Elsweyr so can't really rate Necro as healer)0 -

✭✭✭✭✭As others have said: Magicka Templar and Magicka Warden are the 2 best healer classes atm. The difference between these 2 are their playstyles and the support options they bring to the group (Templars increase team offense while Warden increase survivability for instance)
My advice would be to try them both out and see which one you like the most for the job"Stand strong, stay true and shelter all."

Mushrooms that provide minor recovery bonsus to resources via a cone AoE burst heal.
A remote HoT AoE that provides a HoT synergy, activate it again or waiting it out results in an AoE burst heal.
Vines that heal the ally when they receive damage, good for mitigating DoTs. Can also apply lifesteal to attackers for another HoT or a burst heal for when it expires (or reapplied).
A lotus blossom that increases your critical damage/healing, also heals allies for every light and heavy attack you do. Works with Mend Spirit. The heal will automatically target the most injured ally near you.
A grapple pull using Vines that increase your ultimate gain, can be used for a HoT to yourself and the target or as a burst heal. Very fun to chain cast and swing between allies. The ult gain is per ally, so you can stack the HoT moroh of this skill (should you cast it that often).
The ultimate creates a forest that's just another HoT AoE, it's cheap to cast, so can be used frequently. More ult gain when timed on the injured or can be made to persist the heal longer.
A little jelly fish follows, increasing your magic recovery and magic effectiveness. Also can remove negative effects.
Passive that increase healing, resource recovery, and increase friend's max health.0 -

Yes with magplar you cant go wrong as a healer especially if you want to play in melee range.
If you wanna play a more fun and agressive healer, Nightblade is such a great option. There are some fights in the game that are in small maps and then you have some huge ones were Nightblade can provide lot of movility via major expedition while healing. If you consider make a NB healer, then you can stay with your stamina templar..
As for pvp... i believe Warden is probably the best stamina spec alongside with stamina templars, is just his abilities are ugly. who would choice throw at the enemy insects and animals instead of shiny golden spears...

I’d say was. I’m a NB pvp healer and this patch sucks.
Soul Siphon - gets interrupted so I’ve dropped it
Healthy Offering - more dangerous now that burst is up
I’ve adapted but I’d be better if I played one of the two other classes. 1 second interruptible cast time on Soul Siphon is outrageous, Soul Siphon went from the best healing ultimate to unusable.Edited by Iskiab on August 25, 2019 12:30AMLooking for any guildies I used to play with:

✭✭✭✭✭When I only started playing I created 4 characters which look perfect for their roles in my opinion - dunmer nightblade, bosmer dk tank, breton magplar healer and redguard stamden. Later I created Imperial stamsorc (magsorc looked like a pure cheese class, I can't make myself playing broken OP specs. Actually now after latest wave of nerfs I'm thinking to give magsorc a shot)
So far breton magplar/healer is so damn effective and in the same time boring and plain, that he almost makes me to delete the game to avoid death from yawning. I use it only when I in extremely good mood, to tone down myself a little.
So if you want ton of efficiency with minimal effort - go breton magplar, that combo rocks. Simple and very effective.1 -

I missed the soul siphon cast time change. That is bad. But warden's healing ulti is also kind of interuptable as it is ground target.Because I can!0 -

For leveling up you can easily use jabs which his probably a skill you used leveling up your stamplar. The biggest difference is magicka jabs heals you while you do damage and will probably be easiest for solo work. You can also put together a range build if you prefer.

My personally preference between the two classes mentioned for both PvE and PvP is the templar but the Warden is a close second. Mostly I like the solid heal BoL provides and group cleans a templar can provide that also provides a nice ground based AoE heal. For PvE I am speaking in terms of vet trials.1 -

In my opinion, yes, absolutely, but keep in mind that things change every update.
I avoided leveling a stamplar for a long time because my magplar healer is my main, but fwiw when I did finally do it, it felt different to me and not boring. I really like my stamplar! I have leveled two of each class except the necro, of which I only have one.
I have a templar, warden, and necro healer. After these latest patch changes, my personal opinion is that the warden feels the most "fun." I can heal effectively with my templar but not enjoying it as much. I like playstyles where the healer can augment with additional DPS and so far I haven't been able to get my necro to that point, so I'm struggling with the necro atm. Group rez is awesome, though.
I don't PvP nearly as much so I don't have any suggestions from that perspective. My magplar is my only toon with a full PvP setup and I do enjoy healing on her that way.Edited by peacenote on August 25, 2019 2:51PM0 -

The templar has more a traditional priest healing kit, while the warden has a bit more healing over time or druid like kit and spells, so what do you like most?

Also soul siphon (idk if it's interruptable but you can't Ani cancel it anymore) is still very potent
