It's called lag, tons of posts on the "recent" forum posts in regards to it. People getting hit by NPC mobs they can't see etc.

My advice to you is to play whatever you were playing before you decided to return to ESO. There is a performance fix timeline that was announced recently; ZOS plans to fix performance by the second quarter of 2020. I don’t think any of us are getting our hopes up.

Damn that’s scary. Before Elsweyr the game was running just fine for me on PS4. That’s very discouraging to read all of those. I just resubbed last night too. Bummer.

Me too, outside of Cyrodiil. It’s like ZOS didn’t even bother to test Elsweyr on console before launch. I was more forgiving at first, because I assumed the performance issues were related to increased server load secondary to the influx of players returning for the new chapter. It’s very apparent now that the numbers have dwindled that it’s a problem with the game code itself. It’s basically unplayable.

Also, I don’t know if you PVP or not, but if you do, steer clear of Cyrodiil. The Necromancers ultimate, Pummeling Goliath Bash, is extremely broken. PC got a quick fix, but console is only getting the patch with the next DLC. The skill has single-handedly destroyed PVP in Cyro on console, and more long-term players are quitting over it every day. ZOS could have rapid patched it, as that option exists for both PS4 and XB1, but nope. Console players are increasingly treated like second class citizens.
