as a healer main, i'm devastated by the PVE healing changes, but everything has been said numerous times and there's nothing to be discussed until the next pts patchnotes show up. probably not even then, because I don't think they change things in the last PTS week...

Plus there's WoW classic coming up. I loved WoW in 2005 (and hate BFA), I am definitely going to play a PROPER MMO with PROPER outworld PvP.

I am a mainly raiding and PvP player... but only good PvP in ESO has been in 2014. Then performance tanked, classes became even more unbalanced, devs started killing class uniqueness (unlike the other MMOs, where devs "just" rebalance classes without neutering uniqueness).

PvE: similar. In 2014 it was awesome. You had to play carefully, no more than 2 NPCs at a time or you'd die. Even public dungeon bosses were challenging. Quest bosses were challenging and I had a VERY fun time when killing Mannimarco and Molag Bal in their true, original version.

Since then, PvE turned to the crapper like PvP. Now I can pull a whole dungeon, including 4 men instances and can kill them with no effort, no sweat. It's pointless, no challenge nothing.

At least, the Elseweyr has got a fun trial. The second fun trial in ESO after vMOL. All the rest is garbage, especially copy-paste vCR and vAS.

Long story short, it works like this:
    - New update, wave of nerfs: Adapts and moves on.
    - New update, new wave of nerfs: Adapts and moves on.
    - New update, another wave of nerfs: somehow manages to adapt.
    - New update, yet another wave of nerfs: barely adapts.
    - New update and yet semehow there is aonther wave of nerfs: failds or refuses to adapt as progresion is being taken away by nerfs, bit by bit. Feels cheted and slowly stops carring about stuff.

I think it's more a community that's killing our game then it is ZOS all we ever try to do is put down another class instead of trying to help fix our own99.9% OF NURFS ARE BECAUSE AN OUT CRY TO SOMETHING ELSE GETTING BUFFED !!!!!!!
And without all the need Nerf and buff Nerf and buff Nerf and buff they probably could have fixed performance as well as make quality-of-life issues better but no it's always back and forth with Nerf this and Nerf that buff this buff that

I think that's a silly excuse. I see it on forums all the time, across games, and it kind of infuriates me -- because if it's correct, if "the community cried for nerf buff nerf buff nerf so we're stuck in this endless cycle and it's all our fault" ... then the devs should be ashamed of themselves. There should be a point way before "stuck in endless cycle" point where the devs simply say how about no to requests made against the best interest of the game.

I'm not sure which is the better reality, though -- devs having their own horrible, nonsensical vision for the game ... or devs who are incapable of standing up to their vocal minority.

This past winter’s race changes basically made me not really care anymore. A ton of feed back and zos just did not care.

So now I feel like I am just treading water until something of interest shows up so I can move on. Outer Worlds, Cyberpunk, they cannot get here fast enough.

The most important stuff has been said. All we can do is wait to see if ZOS will actually listen. I think the other factor is that the lack of communication regarding the direction ZOS is trying to take with these changes is making the community feel pretty pessimistic.

    Agreed.

I mean even the other day with all of the issues necros have someone posted about their ults being too strong and the need to nerf them... lol.. like really? How about we fix the things that don't work right first and then maybe see how those ults are.

I wish there was an option of "over the talk, show results". The same idle talk comes out over and over, the servers still are bad, the balancing is still on a 0-100 level(either OP or *** and constant buff/nerf) and the performance improvements are the only thin I am looking forward to at this point.

In my opinion it's really hard to balance a game, especially when an overhaul is needed in so many areas. In the past it seemed to me like ZOS was just creating a more complicated game (when it comes to calculations and what counts as what etc.) So when they decided to go in another direction and change who lead what, started streamlining things and making things easier to understand it's almost like they started another game.

So when this "new" ESO is finished it'll be better and make some more sense, less lag etc. But until we are all on the same page it's almost like we are playing two separate games. One by the old rules and one by the new ones. I think the old ways were just too complex for the sake of being complex and strained things a bit. Having all abilities fit into certain rules: AoE's do this, mag single target does that etc. makes sense and puts less strain on things. I don't know if that makes sense to others but it makes sense in my head.

I am pretty optimistic about this update even though my new main is a necromancer, I am disappointed by some things and happy about others. In the end it's just a game and about having fun and adapting. I always approach DLCs the same way, I just say to myself: If I just picked up this game and started playing, having no knowledge of any past changes, how would I feel about things.

Maybe people are starting realize that these changes really are a minor incremental change in the overall scheme of things.

everything has been said. Cast times on ults, the destruction of class identity are really bad..... i dunno, might just go back to Morrowind or finally get around to playing Daggerfall/Battlespire as the only thing this update seems to offer is boring gameplay.

    EDIT: and..... Nothing, great.

Maybe devs can explain their vision and direction? as for now it looks like a lot of sporadic changes to nerf any effective abilities/combos and buff of something else to compensate and then nerf to just buffed abilities, cause new effective combo emerged. And now aftermath of 1.5.4 is that absolutely everything with exception of dummy parsing is nerfed. Well, I guess templars have some nice options, but other then that it all looks just like "ruination". We may only hope this all will come out to something good and balanced eventually.

So when do you think we'll see the end result? Next year? The year after? Point is, we'll have to deal with this new state of combat for months. I wager that it's not enlightenment setting in, but resignation.

They explained the overall direction they were headed at E3 I believe it was or maybe even before that. Honestly it just comes down to: with Wheeler now lead of Combat he seems to trying to streamline/make everything smoother/undo old things that didn't make sense or were contributing to some issues. I found these, I am sure you read them but I am just saying... they have told us the vision/direction.

    Completely agree.

"Combat balance" is extremely difficult in games like WoW/EQ and other games in which focuses mainly on their PvE aspects.

"Combat balance" with PvP is a never ending battle....

In terms of quality of life changes, we’ve heard your feedback about cast times being difficult to incorporate into fluid combat/rotation, and have made adjustments to many abilities with cast times to make them easier to weave and be more reliable. In most of these cases, we have adjusted the damage as well in coordination with cast time adjustments to retain the DPS you’re used to in U21

Guess that went out the window pretty fast xD

Balance is ever elusive, sure, but this audit of theirs has to end sometime. We're two major patches in and even if they rework passives next, I don't see that creating diverse and fun playstyles for classes. Whatever steps they have planned, we're in for a long, long ride.

i stopped playing and deleted teso when i saw zos made cast times on ultimates, now i'm playing attila tw for wre , cuz teso finally came to an end, i dont want to waste time on this "game" no more. after that step cast times will be on every ultimates and every skills , cuz many ppl so dumb and lazy that they dont want to learn to heal themself after taking the damage. cast time is never a good option, so bb, it was good game
