You're right, it is weird that you didn't have any issues in vSS. Grats on being the outlier these days lol.

It's hard to tell if I'm the outlier, because when you get online you don't really hear too much about it. When I come to the forums though, it's like hell has frozen over. I like to think it's more of a middle ground between the two. Okay performance for the most part, but certain people and areas tend to experience worse while others experience great performance.

Tried running vDSA today. Full of insane lag and weird glitches. We were getting one shot and seeing nothing. Bonfire was still burning but we were getting frozen. You can see I'm dead and somehow taking damage and getting healed, while none of my buttons work and I cant rez myself. We could not clear the second round because of it, and this group has cleared vDSA many, many times. There was literally nothing we could do but die.
Those performance updates CANNOT come fast enough. It's been needed for years.
Damn that recap from non-existent enemiesThat video. Wow.
I've been experiencing more invisible enemies too. While we were being nerfed, enemies got a buff to their 'stealth feature'.
What's really weird is my guildmates saw me as "alive" when in the video you can clearly see me as quite dead.
Hands down the weirdest and most frustrating experience I've ever had in this game.

Same here. Xbox NA, wired connection, gamer nerd speed upgrade internet package, Xbox One X...I've done everything I can do on my end to ensure I'm not potentially contributing to the issue, but I can barely move from point A to point B for 10-15 second increments at a time, every time I try to engage with something in game. The onset of every single add encounter nearly freezes the game for me, and all sounds stop entirely to suddenly flood in all at once after the 10-15 seconds of intense lag spike.
The spikes are happening during overland activities not involving add encounters too (like what you described), and going into populated areas is tantamount to frame rate suicide.
It’s happening on PS4 NA as well. I can’t use skills for several seconds after porting to wayshrines most of the time, and FPS is garbage. Elsweyr broke something. Performance wasn’t great before, but it also wasn’t dumpster fire level. This is dumpster fire level.https://youtu.be/OclGFsm8uRI
Oh my god. Is that what loading screens are like on console? Yikes!
LMAO, yes. I spend most of my time in load screens. It’s even better in Cyrodiil.https://youtu.be/UNZaYa2Ekes
Load screens and blue screens remain the number one killer in Cyrodiil on PS4.
They should focus on consoles here, uniform hardware outside of pro and similar os and software.Donny_Vito wrote: »Weird. We ran vSS two different times last night and didn't really have any issues. Xbox NA.

Holy hell. I'll never whine about loading screens again. I used to think the occasional 20 second screen was intolerable, but damn.
Hope they fix performance for you *fingers crossed*

Also pretty weak systems.
For PC its lots of issues: 1) You configure the game for overland, it run smooth outside of popular towns, for some reasons it don't work well in trials or Cyrodil.
2) you have 8 GB ram and 70 tabs open in Chrome
3) Your printer driver has an conflict with the graphic card, yes stuff like this happens.
Having separate graphic settings for Cyrodil and trials would help a lot. Have an option to activate it for stuff like Alkir dolmen zerg or events.
Play some other games and you quickly realize this games performance is unacceptable.
The degradation should never have been allowed to reach this point. ..
Zos should be ashamed of themselves

Yeah I just returned to LOTRO for the weekend.
Even it has better performance than ESO.

That’s... really sad. I left LOTRO to return to ESO in 2016 because LOTRO’s performance was so bad.

So, we got a little update "patch" on Xbox the other day, and now the game runs even worse than it was before, which was pretty bad. What did you guys do?

So glad I didn't get ESO+. Heck so glad I didn't combat back to Xbox for ESO as well. Imagine stupid me had two ESO+ accounts for Xbox and PC. Once the game poor game play kicked in, I dropped one of the platforms and stuck with the other. Now the other platform is bad.
Was thinking of retrying ESO but it's already uninstalled and don't want to "try" it to see if it has gotten better. Now all I see is lots of people saying poor performance. Such a shame, I wanted to come back and resub. So I tried the PC version and find annoying glitches and bad lag and I don't do multiplayer.
So I won't come back on PC or Xbox now.
Such a shame, that Zenimax just like Bethesda don't respect their customers and fans at all. Shame on you Rich releasing new content in the crown store while the game plays poorly for many.
Oh well, found new games with my ESO money, so I guess there is a good after.

Thanks, I hope so too... losing more hope that the game will ever return to a playable state every day, though.Every update has tanked performance on console just a little bit more. When I first started playing on console, framerates were smooth outside of Cyrodiil and certain trials, and loading screens were not oppressive. Now, you can’t even use a freaking wayshrine without seeing your FPS drop down to a nauseating 5-10, sometimes for upwards of 15+ seconds.
Loading assets seems to be the biggest performance chokepoint on console at the moment. I thought a little while back about buying an SSD to see if that would improve things, but then I realized how crazy of a purchase that would be, given that NO OTHER GAME I PLAY HAS THE LOADING PROBLEMS THAT ESO HAS. Being an MMO isn’t an excuse, as FFXIV runs extremely well on console from all reports. ZOS’s code would appear to be the culprit, not the consoles themselves, so here’s hoping that the next year will see some significant improvements as per the performance fix timeline. I’ll believe it when I see it, of course...

I do play ESO with an SSD on my XB X and it runs pretty well. During peak times in Elsweyr, I see frame rate drops when porting to a wayshrine where lots of others are porting into while hunting dragons. But, it clears up pretty quickly and I can fight dragons just fine with lots of other players. Of course, there are still some stutters, but quite playable.
Now you shouldn't have to buy an SSD in order to play the game, and hopefully the upcoming performance issues will make a difference. However, if you're at all curious and find a good deal on an SSD, I would encourage you to think about it. It was a game changer for me in terms of ESO. It also allows me to take the game with me and play it away from home at a friend's or relative's house if they happen to have an XB. I will say, however, that unless you have an X, it might not make that much of a difference, as I noticed more lag and had a couple of DCs while playing on my sister's original XB.

Versispellis wrote: »Things that dog me constantly:
- "Unusually long loading screens," and loading screens that freeze (especially traveling to or from Elsweyr)
- Slideshow level framerate dips that don't seem necessarily related to any particular thing
- Muddy textures and LOD model buildings up close
- Skills not firing, bars not swapping
- Getting stuck in the windup part of a heavy attack animation
- Inability to sprint
- Inability to travel to a group member. "You are busy."
- Invisible bosses and mobs and NPCs, which sometimes never actually load in. Had an entire daily dungeon run session like this. Somehow got through it on rote memory alone.
- Phantom AOEs, invisible enemy attacks, damage from inexplicable sources. The absolute worst event happened while fighting a dragon on the Elsweyr map. Everything seemed fine, until the dragon died. Then, I kid you not, every single player that was there suddenly died, too.
- Enemies that just stand there and let me kill them
- Mobs teleporting on death. "The target is out of range" while trying to loot. Sometimes, dead mobs and containers are just not interactive at all.
- Audio delay of 10-30 seconds, followed by a horribly cacophonous loading of all the sounds at once. Related: NPCs in story quests yelling over each other.
- Mounting delay. The camera pans up, my toon stands there. It can take up to 30 seconds for a mount to render in. I find myself running on top of it a lot when it finally loads in.
- I am routinely in the middle of an animation while looting a node, only to be chucked out of it and see "someone is using that" appear in the corner, because someone ran up seconds after me.
- Menus hanging indefinitely. I've had to close the game several times because I got trapped at a guild kiosk.
- Swapped outfit slots reverting. Weapon models not switching on bar swap.
These are just the things that immediately jumped to mind. I'm probably forgetting a bunch. This describes every single gameplay session since I came back to the game about a month ago. I'm getting fed up and am considering another extended break.
