I think "really really ruined my ESO experience" is a tad hyperbolic, not being able to easily kill and loot an open world boss may be somewhat annoying but to say what you said, really ...
If your entire matter of "will i stay or not" is being decided by bots farming open bosses, then you are either very picky or you are no fan of this game.
Like people have stated above: there are way worse things going on. Bots mining nodes while underground, the bank bug, people not bein able to log in, disconnects in Cyrodiil, people not being able to set up a subscription for their 30 free days...do i need to go on?
At least you can play. At least you can still get your boss kill if you tag him, even though it's getting farmed. Other people can't even log in.
So if you are one of those people who get on a hissyfit about something that isn't even that gamebreaking, then good riddance.
This isn't directed to the OP, this is directed to everyone complaining about this case in general.

It's far worse than I've seen in any other game in recent years. I wonder why?
There is a lot of "your opinion is wrong, because I say so" going on at these forums. How about we try to accept that some people play the game for achievements and loot, and some play the game for the adventure of it?
Neither way is wrong, they are just different.
What we need to do however, is to respect the differences.
If you run through this game looking to level as fast as possible to get to the endgame content, I get that bots and boss camping are not a major issue. You get past it, onwards.
But if you want immersion, experience the world and the adventure you are on, these things can be quite problematic. (As many people has explained on this topic before).
So, instead of saying: "OP, overly dramatic much?" Accept that his/her experience is not necessarily the same as yours.
Play nice, kids
If these players just want zero effort xp, make the training dummies and targets give xp for them and get them out of the dungeons so the rest of us can enjoy it.
Or, simply, turn the dungeons into instances as they should have been all along instead of the farce they are at the moment.

Lol, best idea ever with the dummiesYou want to grind your way to max level, go and hit the dummy for 2 weeks and clear the zones of your annoying presence
What I don't get is the boss loot, for the most part, is terrible compared to self made gear of the same level. Unless you're farming soul gems, most of the time, killing the boss is a useless exercise outide of clearing the dungeon.
Some of the people here are acting like the boss fights in public dungeons are scripted events with some kind of unique mechanic or something. They're not, if anything they're just "named" mob equivalent that has some guaranteed loot.
Unfortunately the whole "breaking my immersion" argument is circular. Not liking to be told "how" to play the game, is exactly what you're proposing ZOS impose on other players.
Now I'm not a fan of bots, I definitely agree that if we can get them banned I'm not against that.
I've yet to have any trouble getting achievement credit or anything else, within a couple of spawns of the boss. Typically I'll stick around for a few kills to find out what kind of blue the boss drops too.
If anything I think the "champion" public dungeon achievements could use looked at. Only the killing blow, and no credit for being in a group is kind of... well... stupid.
Emm, player standing for hour or more next to boss spawn and killing it is actually botting. It doesn't matter if it is done by external program/macros etc or just by player. That's how I see it and it doesn't matter how you do it. If people stand there for more (5+) consecutive respawns and noone responds to my request to let me get a chance to kill, I accept they all are bots and I report them.Alphashado wrote: »Amazing how many people don't know the difference between a bot and a player farming gear. If you want to complain about PEOPLE sitting at their keyboard farming bosses, then so be it. If you want to complain about PROGRAMMED animated toons with auto attack on while aimed at a boss spawn, then so be it. But please learn how to tell the difference before you report it.
There is a HUGE difference.
Regarding your last paragraph, I agree completely. I recently went back to Toothmaul Gully (Auridon public dungeon) to finish up some achievements (Bloodroot wasn't spawning previously, so I tried right when the servers came online). I was fighting one of the champs and noticed a couple lowbies nearby, so I dragged the NPC over to them and told them to attack it a few times so that they would also receive credit for the kill.
Well, they did, and they killed it. Thus, I didn't get credit. I had to wait a few minutes for a respawn, which wasn't a big deal, but fairly inconvenient. When I told a friend that Bloodroot was spawning properly, she also came to the dungeon and tried to finish up the same achievements... Only to have another person get the killing blow on a couple of the champs.
It was very early in the morning, and we were both tired, so we decided to log off for the night. She never got credit for the kills.
It needs fixing, although it is admittedly not a high priority issue by any means.

Yes, I know that. I even sometimes calculate the respawn time and pop up my ultimate at boss spawn point just to get completion credit and I can move on. Most of the time I even get credit for not getting a hit at boss at all but by using funnel health ability on nearby trash mobs and it links to some of those bots who kill boss. The problem is not getting credit for me I just don't like farmers/bots (call it whatever you want) and I don't like getting achievements and other completion status for actually not doing something. Game must be rewarding and rewards must be actually meaningful and not just because you got some lucky hit.Newbie tip (im a newbie lol): Use instant combat skill in situations like this and move on. It is possible in 95%.

Hard to keep a clear track of any chat since they make pictures with bits and bytes and fill the entire chat window.
So any suggestions as to what my husband can actually do in game? So many things here but unable to do any of them. Have been through many launches, this by far the worst.
