I would indeed recommend perfect false god, even when it doesn't proc, the damage it adds is approximate to julianos (more or less, 170 spell damage vs minor slayer) but u also get 8% skill cost reduction and occasional magicka jumps, which makes it :amazing: i do very much like mechanical acuity+necropotence (which was my main setup for my pet sorc, hehe) but since perfected false gods is just better than necropotence imo (tee hee) and it has two crit bonuses, mothers sorrow have passed mechanical acuity for me (the less crit chance you have the better mechanical acuity is)
Doesn't really matter if it's Perfected or not. You want Perfected, of course, but don't sweat it if you don't.
Pair FGD with anything. Julianos. Sorrow. Whatever. Gear doesn't make that much of a difference.
What matters is strategy.
Since you're just going for a clear, don't be afraid of using sigils. But plan it out. What spot gives you the most trouble? Pop the defense sigil at that point.
For the final round of stage 4, when you encounter all the bosses, my recommendation for a first-time clear is this:
- Kill the fire boss. Until the fire boss is dead, ignore Tames (just make sure tank keeps him taunted).
- Push Tames until the Wamasu spawns. Then ignore tames and kill the Wamasu. Sometimes the Wamasu bugs out and doesn't spawn. Error in your favor. Whatever you do, do not push Tames to the Haj spawn.
- Wait for Minara to spawn (this happens on a timer, not on Tames health %). Focus down and kill Minara. Don't touch Tames.
- Kill Tames. When the Haj spawns, ignore it--just have the tank hold it and keep it out of your hair.

Blending MS and Mech Acuity makes no sense whatsoever, as you dont care about your base crit when MA procs. Spell strat is a single target set, so not my first choice for an arena. Moondancer, well to be frank, I am suprised this set never made more of a comeback once they made staffs act as two pieces. I think it might actually be more viable than people give it credit for, but again, I would take FG all day. Necro would be my second choice behind FG to pair with MS. With either build, you want to front bar MS, and double bar FG or Necro.
All that said, your gear probably isnt the main issue as any of the above are more than viable.

This is actually a strategy we started using towards the end of our run, but it got really late so we quit. we did actually get to the haj mota after killing minara but we made the mistake of trying to focus it instead of just burning tames. Sometimes it feels like he has less health than the haj lol. Will definitely follow this next time, thanks!Oreyn_Bearclaw wrote: »In actual content, it is REALLY hard to beat MS, FG and a VMA staff. I wouldn't pair MA with MS, i'd pair it with necropotence. But your point still stands. I'm thinking of just biting the bullet and going for normal false gods since getting the other pieces i need for perfected will take months at this rate [ I get about 1 FGD drop a week of clearing vSS about 3 times a week at least, and every time this month it's been head/shoulder lol]. I agree about moondancer. I kinda wish i twas just a hint stronger to make it a better choice option. Thanks for your input guys!
