Force Pulse (morph): This morph no longer ranks up in damage of the initial hits, but instead ranks up in the cleave damage it deals. Also increased the damage of the cleave attack by approximately 172%.

what is this cleave attack?

if a target that is nearby( within 8 meters of the main target), is burning, concussed or chilled, the status effects of fire, lightning and frost damage respectively, they get magic damage(magic damage, as in generic magic damage, not fire, frost, or lightning) done to them, up to 2 other targets, my tool tip on my magblade was like 9k for this damage. pretty nice change.

Cleave is a odd word to use for it since its more commonly associated with the actual ability. I think its far more common in the community and in other MMOs as well to call it splash damage.

the skill doesn't say cleave on the tooltip, the patch notes were just describing the kind of damage it is, which is cleave damage.

Cleave is a common MMO term for incidental AoE damage during single target damage rotation.

Honestly never heard it referred to as such before, only ever heard splash.

It was a common term in WoW for the longest time. I'm pretty sure it was stemming from the warrior's Cleave ability, where it did damage to your target and two next to it.

Third edition D&D had a fighter ability called cleave that dealt splash damage. That's the earliest example of this terminology that I am aware of, but it may have even earlier origins.
