    The number of people effected is getting a bit off-track since we have no real way of knowing figures and our individual experiences and friends' experiences will vary.

    Basic risk formula:
    Risk = Likelihood * Magnitude

    We've established that nobody will be able to cite a source for an estimated number of people effected. What can't be disputed is that there are people effected, and the magnitude of character wipes is pretty severe.

    MMO players are nothing if not passionate and determined. Although vocal - I think MMO players' passion make them more tolerant than they come off of in forum posts, which are usually made when people are upset.

    There are, however, some pretty unforgiveable sins within operating an MMO and those are incorrect billings and wiping characters.

    I agree and as to what is bold...this is why I am being so vocal with them. This is inexcusable and people are already cancelling.

    GIVE THESE PLAYERS BACK THEIR GOLD AND ITEMS.

    I am one of the lucky few who had nearly no big problems with the game and I can't understand the people defending this product.
    If you buy another product that does not work (or only works 50% of the time you try to use it) as it should, you try to get it fixed and if it does not work after another grace period you get a refund and move on as it should be to teach companies not to sell half finished products.

    I am in the same boat. I have not had this happen to me and I'm probably one of the most vocal forum posters about it. It is irritating to know while playing I could all my items and gold and NEVER get it back again....

    They don't care and will not give you back your stuff according to several of my buddy's.

    Sorry to hear about your buddies. And in such a case there should be a complete refund if they decide to abandon the game (the only logical solution in my point of view).

    Sad truth may be they cannot give back the stuff b/c their databases are probably fubar at the moment. You can tell by the amount of time it takes for search operations to run on the guild store and by the chat lag that they are have MAJOR operations issues at the moment.

    I'm cluttering the message board with the truth, and not many people say this at MMO launches unless they're bad. I would know having played every major one in the last ten years. Never seen a launch go this bad before.

    LMFAO character reset glitch...that's awesome. Even better is they won't give you any of your items or gold back.

    If it happens to me I'll just cancel my sub and move on. Prolly won't even submit a ticket. Lag, dc's, and downtime I can deal with no problem, but having your progress and items just randomly wiped is a deal breaker for me.

    Well not everyone got the same version of the game so some payed more than others and some less so that isn't really that accurate. Also by now everyone has set up a subscription plan so it's waaay over 40$ mil. But yeah, I completly agree. I can't tell you how pissed i've been sometimes over things like bots, bugs, crashes, log-in issues, maintences, gold-sellers who spam down the chat and mail you 5 times a day and also not to speak of very very unecessary suspensions that has happened not only to me but so many more. I got suspended for 24 hours for bad language, not even joking, and this is a 16+ mature game. Plus, when suspended you get NO e-mail about it or anything and when you try to log in it just says you don't have the correct information. I didn't know what had happened before I e-mailed zos. I was lucky, I got a reply the next day, but i've heard countless of people say they have waited days and they have serious issues that makes them not be able to play and zos never responds. And then you've got the dungeon problems... Chests are only lootable by 1 player and that's where all the good loot is, the bosses mostly drop useless stuff. So then there's always that troll that loots all the chests and even if you try to kick him/her they can still be there and ruin it for you. So then you are forced to be a troll yourself and loot all the chests. World bosses are boring because you literally don't get anything at all, maybe 2 gold and a white item. Also you get 3xp from mobs in dungeons, wtf?

    Ok so that was a rant but I needed to get it out...

    You guys do realize they'd put 200+ million into development of this game? So I find it kinda funny you talking about how much they've gotten from it so far.

    They are fixing things, and it's rather obvious they have devs working on things. People complain about downtime to patch, then complain when they don't bring it down to patch. = no win.

    I realize that some people are having a hard time right now and it wears on nerves and patience, but please stop thinking you're the only person who needs help. Their phone lines are flooded, as are their support email boxes. If you like it or not, they're human and working on 200 things at once trying to deal with peoples problems. While one person is getting help another is bitching that they weren't the one helped. They can not do everything at once.

    4 Times.. I been hit by this bank resetting bug now.. four times ! Good job I learned form the 1st two mistakes & only lost 30k gold so far.. cheers for that, still waiting for a reply from customer support, every time I change from my main toon to a alt toon I can bet 1 in 20 I will get new mara rings, pets treasure maps etc etc I want this game to do well, but its really hard at the moment its not about the money £90 is a drop in the ocean for a 6 month sub which I paid, I just like the game to work & not keep losing items / gold

    Here's my standard - nobody should be billed a month until there are no more character wipes, no more bank wipes, and every single launch quest works as intended. Until we reach that point - we're not playing, just testing. And I don't pay to test.
    I couldn't agree more on that. I've been in 4 beta tests. And 4 beta tests ago what we were doing was this: Providing feedback, reporting bugs and stressing the servers. What we are doing now, two weeks after launch: Providing feeback and reporting bugs. Pretty much the same. And there's almost as many bugs now at launch as it was 4 beta tests ago (which would be about 4 months ago for those that didn't know), only thing i've really noticed is that there aren't many crashes (at least for me, maybe i've been lucky), maintences (only seen one but I think there's been more) and that you don't get stuck after dialogue with a NPC. Also I haven't seen that many people say they have problems with falling out of the world or being stuck, just some. But other than that it's honestly pretty much the same. 4 beta tests ago I was playing the game for free. Why? Because I was testing it ofcourse. Well now at launch i'm doing almost the same thing and i'm paying for it!

    No, that's not what he meant at all. What he meant was that anyone defending zenimax when someone says that the game is buggy is a person that either is a fanboy or is a person that hasn't yet come across any of these bugs and there for doesn't know how buggy the game is and defends zos in pure stupitidy. They can be a fan boy or they can just be a normal person. Stop dragging things so much out of context and making them into things they are not. I don't even understand how you were able to make what the op said into something completly different and trying to make it sound rude when it wasn't at all. Please don't be a drama queen

    20%! Where did this stat come from?

    I have two guilds of 500 plus......in one of them 95+ of the 500 are effected which is about 1/5..which is 20%...hence the stat. 20%.

    However in another guild of mine there's only nearly 50 cases in about 450+ members or so. So it varies.

    There is no way this bug is effecting 1/5th of the player base. You'd have more than a few hundred comments on a thread if it did.

    Most people are quietly quitting imo like my friends have done so far.

    However I agree with you and I blew that figure up a bit. It is probably more like 10%-12%.

    There you go again. That would suggest 50%+ of the player base (in your opinion) are leaving the game.

    Most people who have been effected by this glitch which I said was 10%-12% more than likely...there you go twisting my words around again.

    So I'm saying about 1/10th of the player base are probably quitting(50%) or preparing to quit due to this and the horrible support for it.
    Sounds more like 50% of those effected are leaving the game to me. Believable.

    This is just my opinion but I think leaving a game just because it is buggy at launch is a bit of an overreaction. Ofcourse with the exception of those people that got it really bad, like the dude who lost everything in his bank. But if you leave the game just because it's buggy now that's kinda stupid if it didn't affect you really really badly in a way that you completly lost interest in the game.

    I can accept the fact that MMO launches are rocky that we are gonna have bugs we are gonna have server issues etc. I get it this is not my first rodeo, my issue is why didn't they hire more people i am not even really mad i got a suspension ( no one has told me why yet ) it's that i the consumer have bent over backwards to try and get my account re-instated and its taken them a really long time to do anything about it.

    If i didn't like the game what is there for me to be annoyed about .....just move on and play something else.......

    This is bad customer service it shouldn't take this long to resolves issues , issues are gonna be there tons of tickets are gonna be there....hire enough people to handle the tickets so it doesn't take forever.

    Many F2P games don't have a ton of GM's that can fix your problem its a cost cutting mechanism.....well we all signed up for subscriptions , presumably one of the benefits was better customer support. Launches are crucial to the long-term success of an MMO making tons of your fans mad because of issues like these are not gonna help the game be successful.

    I know one buddy of mine has 100K subs and is making a vid right now about how terrible the customer support is and is actively encouraging people not to play this game. He know's someone with 750K+ subs going to do the same thing if it happens to him.

    For their own good the items and gold of others players needs to be returned ASAP.

    Also would like to add my buddy told me he lost all his items in his bank except for four and about 50,000 gold in bank at the time. He opened up a ticket....no response for three days...finally was "escalated" at which point two days later they told him his items and gold couldn't be restored so he quit/cancelled his sub.




    Zenimax....GIVE MY FRIENDS BACK THEIR ITEMS AND GOLD PLEASE!

    They gave you $100...could they play the game now please?

    TBH I love the elder scrolls and am passionate about this game doing well and truly hope all these glitches are fixed. I don't want people I know to start bashing this game, because they lost all their stuff and cannot get it back.
