With all the skill cost increase (for Magicka Necro for example) what exactly are we supposed to do for sustain?

necro lost cost (3k) on the tether abilities and still get resources back on them (~1327), together (~4327) that more then makes up for the cost of Skeletal Mage (which got buff of almost double the damage it has now, by the way) going to 4320 from 2430, 1890.

    There you go.

You have either two options. You either do the logical thing Sera mentioned and work in a heavy attack. OR... if you want to play this game like it a first person shooter and non-stop smash buttons, you compensate your build to have more resource regen. People need to stop acting like the sky is falling. Morrowind was a LOT more harsh and the game moved on just fine from that moment...expect for poor Deltia and his poor Templar. :D

As stated earlier, your sustain skill just got it's cost removed, sustain will probably be the same if not better.

Can't do dps if you don't have resources.

I'd imagine scrubs would also run out of resources and just light attack spam because they can't do anything else.

Few patches a go heavy weaving was a thing and the thing to do.

I mean, dps are meant to focus purely on damage. It's up to the support roles to provide them with what they need to do so. Maybe they just want everyone to move towards the beginner pet sorc heavy attack simulator.

Maybe DD's will have to slot an aoe heal for heal checks in end game trials now.

It's up to the player to focus on dmg and part of that is having enough sustain to do that dmg. Maybe people will have to lose a bit now to sustain thats fine.

Yes but ZOS decided that to hit optimal dps you need to have 100% uptime on all your dots. Pausing to heavy attack means you’ll lose dps because the dots fall off.

Heavy attacking continues to be worse than cost reduction glyphs, sustain food and sustain glyphs. The only sustain choice that’s worse are the sustain sets.

Uhm... no. If you’re building towards zero sustain by yourself that’s your choice. You can do that but don’t expect others to cater to your needs just because you want the highest DPS yet you’re not willing to - at a certain degree - self-sustain.

I know it sucks, but I've found infused recovery, in addition to regen food/drink to just be one of the easier ways to sustain. Once I did that it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

How much dps are you going to do when you're out of your resources?

You're just going to have to live with DPS losses, or haven't you been paying attention to the patch notes?

Thats why I personally build for balance instead of glass cannon. I build in a way for me to do decent damage consistantly and not run out of resources unless I get careless and do too many high bursts. We're going to have to test on the PTS and work together as a community to get back on track.
