For those who lost their banks: Will there be rollbacks?

Jessica Folsom said Rollbacks won't happen and in fact CAN'T happen... that's a little scary that they don't keep backups of your account.

    Yes, this scared me too.

We do keep back-ups of characters, but it is not possible for us to do an individual character rollback. For the issue of missing bank items, bank slots, skill points, and gold, we reference records of everything your characters have ever bough, sold, deleted, traded, etc.

This is actually pretty standard. It's how Blizzard does things too. Everything your character has ever done is tracked in database transactions. There is no way to "rollback" a single character. Instead, they send you all the items you are missing by referring to the past database transactions.

What they mean is there are no "save points" to instantly restore a character to an earlier point with a single click. Although there probably would be a way to restore the entire server to an earlier point, I doubt that would be appreciated by the players.

The compensation for such a bug should be 250,000 gold and an enchanted legendary Void sword, plus a free veteran 6 level alt toon for everyone effected for 5+ days, and for those effected two times they get an extra 500,000 gold.

    LOL.
I'm sorry, it's just...losing your bank is *** and all, but giving a mountain of gold and a V6 account just because people got affected?
People are already saying that the economy is broken because of the goldsellers and here comes this guy asking for 250-500k gold. Not to forget a heavily overpwoered toon with an enchanted legendary weapon.

People are so silly. They should be lucky if they get reimbursed in the first place.

I agree this is way over the top. However, if they can't restore your items for you. (Can you imagine what an undertaking that is for the possibly 100's of thousands of items that were lost?) I say if they can't refund the actual items then they should get either 10k gold to replace their items or just fully upgrade their bank, something like that. 250k is over the moon and across the stars.
What is written above are my honest opinions. If you agree then; "Great!" If you disagree; "Great!" I really couldn't care less either way.

That's what Arenanet did, they restored my entire account to a backup that occured before it got hacked.

They cant even do that. This guy had his level 34 character deleted and all they could give him was a naked level 34 with no quests completed http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/67813/character-was-deleted/p1
