Every time new patch notes come out they seem to only take into account pvp for 99% of the time which annoys the hell out of me as a pve player.

At the same time pvp players are getting more and more frustrated with the performance issues - and lets be real here, those are structural problems that will NOT improve in any significant fashion.

Maybe its time to realize what everyone has been telling you for years ZOS that

1. You will never be able to balance pve and pvp within the same framework
2. There is hardly any overlap between pve and pvp players (why since the dawn of time there have been separate servers)

So before you destroy your game how about making separate mega servers for pvp and pve which is probably the only way by now to solve a lot of these two issues ...

I agree. PvP and PvE are so separate in ESO it shouldn't be hard to separate them. There are pve zones and pvp zones. PvE is dying, which I'd wager is the majority of your player base, for silly broken pvp.

Solution to it would be making LOADOUT system we have seen in RIFT game for example, you could easily switch your role there.

The more simple fix would be to have skills act different against players than they act against NPCs. Separate servers is a very bad idea. Some skills found only in PvP are useful for PvE and many PvP'rs use weapons and armor they received doing PvE content.
A lot of players participate in both PvE and PvP on the same characters. Your idea would punish those players.

I don't think they are trying to balance anything, I think "they are killing it!"

Performance is the worse then ever and this is their concern. That really says a lot.

The lag makes the balance meaningless in the long run so that's one problem less for Zenimax. I feel now is finally first time when many long time players have had enough and quit playing completely in a short period of time, there's still more new players coming so the loyal players don't matter much at all and they can go quit and cry while Zenimax cares about skeever's arse. These new players tolerate the issues more and it takes time for them to realize the balance issues. Basically every leaving player is decreasing the overall lag and there's less "nonconstructive" threads on forum so again a win for Zenimax. At the moment this clearly aware strategy for Zenimax is working very well financially I bet, however it will work just as long as there's new fresh players coming.

that is a good alternative i have been advocating for years - wont solve the performance issue tough which seem to me are simply cause by a combination of too many players and too much content (motifs, furniture, visual fidelity / textures etc.)

    PvE is dying

I thought the hype about the influx of new players might be real, but questing in Gold Coast and Hew's Bane the past couple days, I noticed there are mats sitting untouched everywhere. Used to be for the past few years whenever a double mat event was going on, people were fighting over spawns. Now the zones are just ghost towns.

I guess the lag, bugs, and constant tinkering with skills and gear has finally taken it's toll on player interest.

I'm not sure Gold Coast and Hew's Bane are good places to make such qualitative/quantitative observations right now.

Looking at the thread listing since this event has been live, and as similarly happened during the last DB/TG event, there appears to be a sizable contingent of players who are... disinclined... to take part in this event, judging from all of the

Unless there is an ESO+ trial going on right now, the two DLC zones are an extremely bad source of data on player population.

Many players only have the base game and perhaps some of the chapters. Not all of them have ESO+ or have bought these two DLC's.

How many years of trying to unsuccessfully balance pvp and pve does it take to realize that trying to balance them together is not gonna work?

Have you seen the Baandari crown crates!? Not a single thing in there I wanted, it is all silly garbage and rehashed items. If they don't even care about the loot boxes anymore I am inclined to believe that the game is dying. DOOOOOOOOM & GLOOOOOOM!!!!

I tend to agree and would be perfectly fine if no further attempts were made to make any balance changes once any new class or skill line has been live for over a year to work initial bugs out. Building a character on a somewhat uneven but sturdy (and predictable) foundation is preferable to trying to build one on a foundation of constantly shifting sand.

Not sure if people moved away from Elden Root, but when I played heavily in the past it was ridiculous at how many people were doing things in ER. Reinstalled ESO yesterday and both yesterday and today it was dead. Maybe 4 or 5 other people there.
IMO they haven't done much to encourage me to come back/stick around. More so since I'm no longer subbed to ESO+ which means my bank sits at 281/180 (and that's after spending $150,000 gold or so to upgrade it).

Dont the servers have shards / different instances? So not going to be able to guess about players numbers by how many people you see.

Also, is the summer for half the globe, and so lots prob on holiday.

But doom & gloom are the meta these days....

Yet last summer the population in the major cities was just fine.

Unless they changed how the servers work, you'd see other people still since they have mega servers.

It's also not doom and gloom when performance consistently gets worse and people get tired of it and leave.

It's real. Last week at 2AM PDT on PC-NA, I was sharing delves with five and six other players in Rivenspire. A couple of months ago, those same delves had a population of only me. Shornhelm, the once-abandoned city, was swarming with players. You couldn't go five paces on a road without passing another player.

I'm guessing new players haven't gotten far enough in the game to reach Hew's Bane yet.

I agree. They nerf stuff almost only because of PvP. WW for example. Is it super OP in PvE soreboard runs, doing vet HM content ?

    Nope. It is "trash".

It is almost only used in PvP. And not even by an "average joe". Pre-mades in PvP. This is the only source of WW complains as far as I recall.

So next patch, I for example wont be able to use WW to play solo N PvE. It is as simple as that. WHY ?! What have I done wrong ? Why do I have to suffer ? Because BGs Pramades that play their games and as a result I am getting nerfed ???

    Not FAIR ! :(

Not to change the subject but what is this nonsense that there's no crossover between pvp and pve players? Everyone I've ever played the game with plays both. Maybe not in equal amounts but still, am I a part of some weird niche of the community? Is it a PC/ console thing maybe? Teenagers trying too hard to identify as something?

I don't get it and my experience in-game is often very different from the opinions I read here on the forums. It seems to me that the few people I've seen admit to never pvp'ing or pve'ing are the outliers.

You might want to think about the fact that making the pre-emptive threat thread to prevent actions by ZOS that they might not take it very seriously when your thread title's 2nd and 3rd words are what they are.

    Nah.

They just need to balance for PvP FIRST and then balance the PvE stuff against that.

It would make much more sense to balance PvP first. Before you mob slaying demons come at me, let me explain why.
PvPers obviously face other players, and other players are using the classes the ESO offers. Which means we NEED a good balance so one player isn't stronger than the other just based on the class they pick.
In PvE you're fighting AI with fake classes, so it's far easier for a PvEr to adapt to class changes than it is for a PvPer.
So when I say balancing for PvP first makes sense, I'm not being selfish about it. It's actually the most logical solution.
