they wont need to rollback your character to restore items, and if you cancel, it wont matter unless you are gone for more than a month. you dont get charged on a % basis if you cancel halfway through a month.
The compensation for such a bug should be 250,000 gold and an enchanted legendary Void sword, plus a free veteran 6 level alt toon for everyone effected for 5+ days, and for those effected two times they get an extra 500,000 gold.

LOL.
I'm sorry, it's just...losing your bank is *** and all, but giving a mountain of gold and a V6 account just because people got affected?
People are already saying that the economy is broken because of the goldsellers and here comes this guy asking for 250-500k gold. Not to forget a heavily overpwoered toon with an enchanted legendary weapon.
People are so silly. They should be lucky if they get reimbursed in the first place.

You don't play often enough to care, and it hasn't happened to you. If it happens to me I'm insta-quitting and demanding a refund.

Has anyone gotten a response as to rollbacks or not, an official response not their opinion or a guess but a ZOS response of character progress being rolled back to fix banks or not? I'd like to play but not if the progress is just going to get rolled back.

I am hearing that people are starting to lose skill points and reasearch with the bank bug now so.... as a person with the bank bug I dont want to corrupt my account anymore then it is now. They have until Tuesday to fix this if not I wil reverse charges on the game costs, cancel the 3 subscriptions from my household. I will also be using facebook and twitter, videos on my twitch account to make sure others are aware of this data loss bug.
All I can say is, IF you get affected by the bank bug, DO NOT re-buy the bank upgrades. That will just make it MUCH more difficult for support to find your original upgrades.
It is clearly a database problem of some sort, and it is something on the back end. I can definitely understand taking a break from playing until it is fixed (because not being able to use the bank properly severely limits your progress), but quitting and QQ'ing all over the internet about it is kinda silly, since we know it WILL be fixed soon.

And I can just about guarantee they can restore everyone who was affected by this to their pre-bug status.

Well, like I said, it is a database issue. Something has gone wrong with the back-end database, and a table somewhere has gotten corrupted. I'm sure they have their DBA's going over it with a fine toothed comb right now to find out exactly where the problem is. There is also a reason why it hasn't affected everyone.
But database transactions are always logged, and it's silly to think that they won't be able to restore those that were affected. But yeah, look up how complex SQL databases can be sometime.

I understand how hard it can be... but if the problem is happening over and over my suggestion is NOT to play because fixing one of the problem times may be all they will do.

It would be helpful if they could isolate what is causing it...because this actually has only affected a small percentage of players. It hasn't happened to me, nor has it happened to anyone I know (and I've rolled 2 alts so far). I know there are a couple of zones that were bugged and were causing "rollbacks" for people questing in them. I have not done this yet, because my main character is on the Ebonheart faction. But maybe the mere act of questing in one of these "broken" zones has something to do with the issue - something to think about.
All of the people that this has happened to have something in common, maybe if we can figure out exactly what it is, then we can find a way to avoid whatever causes it until they fix the issue. But yeah, I expect to see something happen on this early this week.

when i sent them my ticket i told them in exact detail what happened before the glitch so if anything it should give them an idea of what was causing it.

That is no excuse...they have already made millions off the release of this game no doubt. Use they darned money to fix it to there is a game. People will never get their hard earned gold, items, or skills and accounts back...not surprised so many subscribers are already leaving two weeks in if this is what they paid for.

They ARE working to fix it, that's my point. They just posted a new sticky about it. http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/discussion/77461/missing-bank-items-bank-slots-skill-point
They said that the people affected will get their stuff restored, it will just take a little time to get through it all.
