Do I get compensation for this?

So since I was too stupid not to log in before 19:30 today, me as an eso plus member wont get my dailys done among other things. I am not sure I got the daily login reword either. Will I get compensated for this once server is back up or will they just ignore the affected players and we just have to not give a ***, like the solution to everything in this game have been so far?
If the server was down for everyone, it would be more understanding, but when only some are affected thats my point.

Yeah been busy all day, no idea eso was down. Thought I'd log in to quickly get the daily reward. Guess I'm out of luck.

They really can't have additive daily login rewards for every day of the month and then take away the first login of the month. Well, they can, of course, but I refuse to take it anymore. The last thing I need at the end of a busy day is to feel like I failed something because someone else can't get their act straight.

On the other hand, they put the "big prizes" at the 2/3rds point through the month, instead of on the last day (like many monthly systems do).

So they've already planned for unexpected missed days.

edit: looked at the July Daily Rewards thread. It's 5k gold. Oooh. Aaah. That's not even worth the time it took to read this thread.

This and history of this game, and most major MMORPGs, seems to support it. ToS allows for outages. Things happen and it is unfortunate.

Though Zos should do something concerning the daily login rewards. Even though they are not that exciting some may still get upset because they missed out due to Zos' equipment.

My time is limited due to work hours - however I am subscribed to the game for the extra benefits it gives.

I do not think it is unreasonable to expect at the very least for an extra day added to my subscription time - the daily reward for logging in I will have to do without.

Even Blizzard do this when wow has outages and look at the reputation they have for being stingy!

Then don't bother reading the thread if it's only to drop by and tell people how "not serious" their issues are, yes ?

It's absolutely not normal that the EU server would be down so often and so long, and even those few 5K lost are 5K too many, among other things these server issues make us lose (amongst which, time and money - real money). I myself came back from a game break a week ago, resubbed ESO + then, decided earlier to buy elsweyr and... and now can't login to play it.

    Makes sense. Makes total sense.

Read the ToS that you (and everyone) agreed to.

You are not entitled to compensation for server down time for maintenance/updates.

I didn't log in the last 2 days so I lost those login rewards. 5k gold or so I think.

Oh well. Not a big deal and I don't care nor expect compensation

Must ZOS compensate players? No, of course not.

Should ZOS compensate players? That's a different question.

Really ? I've never had half this amount of issues with LoL, but maybe it just didn't bother me as much because I don't usually plan to spend long hours playing it. I'll keep that in mind next time I play it, out of curiosity.

@Katahdin The ToS is what it is but it doesn't excuse the game being the mess that it is when it comes to server instability. It's an attempt at being juridically on the "safe" side and prevent players from rightfully kicking up a fuss - which actually appears to be working if I'm to believe your reaction. And yet juridically a lot of the ToS actually doesn't hold up to scrutiny. It's more dissuasive than it is properly legal.

That being said, whether it holds up in court or not (and again, depending on the country, a lot of it DOESN'T), it doesn't make buying a product that is then unusable acceptable. And while we're not LEGALLY entitled to compensation, we sure as heck deserve something for the trouble.

This is an interesting question. As far as I know, or at least as far as they have ever admitted (and I remember), this is the first time they have had to take the whole server offline for "infrastructure outage". I imagine this sort of thing to be like "the data center we rent is on fire" or "some idiot dug up the fiber optic line leading to the data center".

New territory, AFAIK. Interesting to see what they do.

Exactly. I think it perhaps may be a case here in this thread of complaining without actually looking at the reality?
14th day and 21st day are the unique rewards this month, and I believe that is consistent most months. After that it is small amounts of Gold, Alliance Points and Tel Var Stones.
So players can miss up to 10 days and still obtain them.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Simply missing daily writs - meh, there'll be more tomorrow.
Missing daily login rewards - nothing much in there anyway but plenty of people miss out on some while waiting 2, 3, 4 days or more whenever a DLC comes out and their update downloads, so meh.

They could fix the daily rewards issue easily by not having them every day. maybe have rewards 21 - 24 days out of every month instead of every day.

You agreed to the terms. Simple.

A better question would be "Should ZO$ change said terms to account for dailies"

I'm not sure, of it was some major award, absolutely. If it's just some potion, nope.

Also, these circumstances are unforseen and not the fault of ZO$. One days reward won't hurt, and there are other ways to occupy your time.

I'm not going to ask for compensation though, it's a minor issue that really doesn't affect our lives.

ZOS is omniscient enough to know that they can't fix the game to support Midyear Mayhem until possibly next year, so why would they not know that yet another failed patch would disable the server once again?

I find it strange they can't throw anything at people. I bought BDO a few months ago but returned it. Ended up buying it again today. When I logged in I had multiple mails from them as compensation for when BDO servers were down from a DDOS attack.
