Arca94✭✭✭✭The fact that this seems to be mainly about PvP makes this suggestion even more unnecessary.
There are so many different builds and playstyles that work in PvP in duelling, solo open world, smallscale, BGs and large scale, finding what works for you is really important in my opinion.
For this game, I also believe skill heavily outweighs a players build, with the exception of builds like bashnecro or zoo sorc. For example, you could just slap Fury and Seventh Legion (what many people consider OP, even though I don't fully agree) on most stam setups and still not perform well because you struggle with sustain, light attack bash weaving, kiting or something else.
I really don't think ESO needs an inspect option in PvP, just experiment and find what works for you.Edited by Arca94 on June 27, 2019 11:17PM3 -

How many of those good MMORPGs have actual competitive raiding that is gauged by the success of teams? The only attempts I have seen at leaderboard in other games has been pretty weak in comparison.
If you want to know what I am wearing just ask. I will be happy to link it for you. But this game has enough toxicity as it is. We do not need to add more fuel for those whose skills as a player is not as good as their skill as blaming others for their own shortcomings.
Besides, there are probably a great many players geared fairly well that struggle to pull decent numbers. Player skill is what is by far what is most important in this game.6 -

beadabow✭✭✭If you were to ask me what gear I am wearing, I would link it to you (as I have done for others) with the caveat- "but I am always changing things to suit my situation." I use add-ons to make changes based on what I am doing and what I want to achieve. Some examples are:
1. I use sets for farming/scroll running
2. I use sets for soloing content
3. I use sets for group content
4. I want to try an experimental build...
So if you inspected my gear one minute, it might change in the next. I have even changed setups back and forth in trials for trash mob fighting and boss fighting. In pvp, I often switch gear for when the server is less populated, and switch again when more players start logging in- because instead of resource capping, I'll probably group up and go for other objectives. I know some people want to keep their builds to themselves, and they should be allowed to do this. Reverse engineering a kill report is sometimes an enjoyable puzzle to me- one I like to try to solve on my own.4 -

5x Seducer
2x Torug's pact
Resto/Dest staves
All traited as Training/Arcane. Most is gold, except a couple of purples on my Argonian. Most jewelry is blue on the respective toons.

✭It would be nice to be able to inspect motif styles since some people are mute and wouldn't respond if their life depended on it. But yeah, actual gear sets aren't important if you aren't running vet trials, and since most people in this game are roleplayers, there's really no need for a gear inspect. I wouldn't mind either way, but it'd be cool if people could inspect my motifs without always having to ask me and then wanting to be friends and tell me their life story after I reply.Xbox NA healer main

✭✭I'd rather there not be an inspection option for many similar reasons as other have said. ESO gear really doesn't work the same as other MMOs. You can get really good dps for instance using some build creativity and a good rotation.
My stamsorc build that's still being tweaked:
Imperial, werewolf (for passive from ult being slotted, not really using the transformation anymore, but holding out before curing )
Stormfist monster, both divines
5 piece twice-born star body, 4 divines 1 well fitted
5 piece ravager front bar, jewelry (1 robust, 2 recovery) and dual swords (yes I know )
vMA bow backbar.
Food depends on content, usually lava foot,
weapon crit potions
