^ Maybe we can get the whole front page to be performance posts without even trying to do so. I mean its heading in that direction anyway.

    That would be called spam.

    Spam gets you banned.

No, actually its not. Spam would be if i made a bunch of posts myself to get the front page full of performance posts.

But people who dont know each other making similar posts because they cant find any information, comment, response, or ETA, on a major game breaking issue? No. Not spam. Maybe its just a thousand people who actually care asking similar questions. Thats why I said "without trying to do so" and "Its heading in that direction anyway".

I know these things can be hard to understand.

I think that ZOS closed posts with complaints about performance to silence the problem. Like "here they have problems and let them sit in one general post." Just not to make it clear that the problem is massive.

Update on the performance? hrmm I didn't see that in the June crownstore showcase very suspicious check back in late July im sure itl make an appearance for 5k crowns

Anything else will simply be labeled as a new feature with a vague reply from Zos it might sound something like this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyIMKiWpdU4

You know how you can restore your pc to a previous date? I wish I could restore ESO to a date before Elsweyr. Don't get me wrong. It's a cool chapter and I like a lot of the new stuff added but I'd rather be able to play the game like I used to. It's absolutely unbearable at times. I would gladly give up Elsweyr for the game to be able to function as it had before it.

I don't understand why some people have really crap performance and some claim they have not.

I have really bad performance in PvP (prime time). Even PvE is lagging.

Is it my ISP? No, i don't think it is. I have the fastest internet Ziggo has to offer (since not long ago 500/40 Mbit/s download/upload and before that 250/25.)
Ziggo is trustworthy, i always have connection and other games do not have lag. I am pretty sure it's not my internet.

Is it my PC? No i doubt that either. I have a GTX 1650 6 gb from Nvidia and an i7-6700K processor (it's a bit old, 4 years) and 24 gb of ram

I can run Witcher 3 on highest settings and also all other games i play. Fps is always good,, but even if i put ESO on low, it just lags and feels sluggish. That, and then you have weapon swapping not working, heavy attacks bugging out and in PvP just nothing works as it did in 2014. On release the game might not have been perfect, but at least my skills fired in 500vs500vs500 battles. Now it just is crap in 1 vs 1 vs 1.

At least this is my experience. Some say the don't have any issues. But as i read forums a lot do experience the same stuff. Even on consoles.

Ya I would think that is more likely than anything else. I know they are seeing these posts and ignoring them. Every person on here knows this. You have to, unless you think they're blind. So them not responding means they dont care about communication (even though gina said there was no excuse for their poor communication)

But there are threads getting closed daily about this. I had the page open on one from yesterday, one directed at @ZOS_GinaBruno asking her to comment on the situation and give us some information.. Since she is one of the community managers. When i looked today the page was gone, of course idk why or if something else happened..

Well prepare to be dissapointed. This was a poll with 722 votes to stop putting out content for an update or so and focus on game performance. 722 yes vs 109 no. And not one comment from zos on it. Scratch that, there probably was one or two telling people to behave. If something like that doesnt get their attention, and if the number of performance posts dont get their attention, then nothing will. They will be silent til they feel the need to say something about it which will be along the lines of "performance is very difficult... we are working on it...".. And even that wont come for god knows how long..

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/479357/poll-performance-fix-or-new-content-vote-and-help-show-zos/p1

    The poll ^

I've been worried about declining game performance for a long time. I play on xbox and its been bad here for a long time.. Since before morrowind, but its gone down hill fast since then and now at an all time low in elsweyr.. Throughout the whole game.

But one thing that has never changed is the silence of zenimax online studios on this issue. I have watched hundreds of threads over the years go ignored, while smaller issues get a comment from jess, gina, or another zos team member.. Look at the dev tracker right now.. All performance threads ignored, and housing ones getting attention. This is an ongoing trend i have seen over the years. They do not want to talk about it until they're ready, and then we dont get much info or a fix. They ignore us in such a blatant way..

And with as bad as performance has been, you could search the forums and maybe find a couple posts from zos over the years about the ongoing decline of pvp performance. Its taboo. The last time it was mentioned was by rich earlier this year at the elsweyr reveal (i think, im not even sure if it was pvp performance or just performance).. but before that? Once per year maybe. So dont expect anything different this time around..

I imagine it will improve, overall, in the game. I dont think they will talk about it til they have a way to improve it a bit. I think pvp performance will not change. And I think this is the cross roads for them. They either find a real fix for all of it or band aid certain things while other things, like pvp, remain in the gutter. And if they just band aid it things will continue to get worse, overall.

Idk, it is odd. I see it on the forums more than i do in game. Everyone ive ever played with has the same issues. When i do group with friends some will always rage quit because its pointless to pvp when you cant cast abilites and the game looks like a picture book..

The only people ive ever talked to, on xbox, who told me they didnt lag in pvp were a couple people with fios internet and gigabyte speeds.

I have an xbox one x, the game on an external ssd, a very expensive modem that my xbox is wired to, and very good internet. Like 400 download 40 upload or something. And i used to play on abysmal speeds back in thieves guild, with no lag. Like 10 download and 1 upload. No other game I played, or have played, on xbox or pc, has had close to the performance issues eso does for me. At least not while ive played them. And ive played tons of games, of all types. Survival games, shooters, mmos. Idk, none of it makes sense but I know that too many people have the same issues, with different ISPs from all over the world, for it to be on our end.

Don’t know why people keep posting their internet speeds, this game only uses around 200mb per hour.

I played on satellite back in the day and it never caused these FPS issues or enemies not appearing. It wouldn’t delay my attacks or actions, it would just delay damage done and damaged received.

Right now none of my attacks are delayed and damage done/received are fine, it’s just constant low FPS.

They did something to the game engine files or the server....

You should ask zos that. One of the most common things they used to do was to tell people the performance was because of their isp. But i bring it up to prove the point that even with abysmal internet my game ran fine.

Yeah I hear console is worse then pc performance wise :/

While myself has not really seen any issues overall, (abit of lag in sieges in cryodill during peak hours) and a while back we had a day where the performance was horrific I hear people on all platforms have had huge issues.

They’ve made several addresses they are aware and trying to amend the situation. But I’d imagine it’s not small task.

Megaservers have never been stable in MMORPGs.

Large world pvp has never been stable in MMORPGs. And before someone brings up GW2, the game has a lot less players then eso by quite a margin and they intentionally made the game graphically low to uphold WPVP,

These two combined lead to a huge issue, there’s a reason a lot of mainstream games gutted their world pvp and replaced it with a variety of instanced pvp.

Their easiest fix is likely to remove imperial city and cryodill, and replace it with instanced pvp.

As long as they provide 2v2 3v3 and 5v5 arenas, large scale pvp battles like 20v20 and develope CP modes for them and BGs it will prolly appease most players.

I dont pvp often but even pve is pretty bad 3 second skill delays or skills wont fire bars wont swap targeting aura on enemies vanishes making single target not work

I find it hilarious that people claim "Every MMO lags"

    No, no it does not.

I took a break from ESO and played a few other MMO's on ps4. Namely Tera, Neverwinter, and FFXIV.

And while ultimately I came back to ESO, never had any lag in any of those games. Especially FFXIV, which I played the most. No lag in massive city populations, no lag in any group trial, and no lag in PvP.(at times FFXIV has 75 players on screen with everyone's full spell effects going off and no hint of lag) PvP is awful in that game though...not recommended.

Like I said, I ultimately came back to ESO because the combat (when it works) is absolutely addicting and I love the lore, while the other games I listed didn't really hold my attention. The only thing those games have over ESO is performance is pristine, and when things bug out, they actually fix them. Sometimes in the same day.

So, no....it's patently false to claim every game has these issues. It's a hollow attempt at a lame justification, and just flat out untrue.

When all the whites knights take off their armor for their new new black armor you know it is truly a sign of the end of days. This is what happens when performance issues bleed over into PVE people start to pay attention and the Devs can’t hide anymore.

Dogs and Cats living together, this is a sign of the coming Apocalypse! It would already be here but I think War and Death are caught in a load screen and Pestilence and Famine skills won’t fire and their stuck in combat so they can’t mount up...........Kappa

I just signed on here to see if I had missed a change to the GCD or something with this latest update because my skills feel very desynchronized. I am also having to hold buttons down longer in order for my skills to actually cast. Like, I keep swapping my bar too fast and not actually casting any skills. It just feels like everything is taking longer and it's all out of wack. Is this kinda what you guys are talking about? I thought it might have been a (bad) purposeful change that I would just have to get used to but now I'm realizing it really may just be bad lag and poor game performance...? I'm on a base PS4.

I am having the EXACT same issues. I'm consistently noticing that I have to slow my rotation down significantly just to ensure my skills go off.

I don't understand why some people have really crap performance and some claim they have not.

Part of the problem is that people are simply not giving constructive feedback that accurately describes what they are experiencing. There is hyperbolic over use of terms like "broken" and "unplayable" when neither of those is actually the case, for example. Furthermore, such language doesn't describe the problem in a way that helps the developers understand what the specific issue actually is. Put another way, people aren't being objective in describing what is going on, leading to subjective interpretations of the situation that are going to differ widely. This, on top of the very real possibility that some users are simply not experiencing issues. I don't envy the developers having to sort through this. We could do them all a favor by being more constructive and doing less generalized whining, yes?

Here’s an idea...how about the devs log in and try playing the game themselves? 10 minutes in Elsweyr is all they would need.

There have been many bug reports, bug threads, performance threads with videos and or detailed descriptions of the issues with this game. Those threads go unanswered or shut down. The devs know full well what the issues are in their game but they’ve chosen to disregard in order to put more costumes and hair styles in the crown store.
