ESO Logs for consoles, too?

Title says it all. Is ESO Logs just for PC or can I upload my console data to the website and then check my performance (on a dummy / boss)?

    Nope. Nor for Xbox.

First step is to find add-on authors with the Sony and Microsoft developer kits who are willing to do the development for free.

Then you'll have to find a way to negotiate access to ESO data through Sony and Microsoft. I am far from expert, but my understanding is this requires ZoS to enter into new/expanded relationships with Sony and Microsoft. Maybe that requires money. Maybe that requires compatibility standards. Maybe both.

Then ZoS will have to port the data through Sony and Microsoft's servers and provide on-going support for the add-on authors specific to Sony and Microsoft network protocols.

That, in an inexpert nutshell, is why there are no ESO add-ons for console.

It took 3 years or so for add-on authors to gain console access to TES V, and that title has a far larger sales record than ESO.

We have addons for single player beth games. Its odd that ZOS hasn't reached out to have something like that implemented. In my job we call that "reach back"

Huge dissapointment tbh, for two reasons:
    1. Would love to get a damage meter.
    2. The releasing pc only features.

I would really like to see a damage log added by ZOS. Seeing consoles now have text chat, buff timers and damage indicators, I can see ZOS adding this in the future, and it really needs to happen. I am not a coder but I cannot see it being hard to implement and would help console players out a lot.

I don’t understand why it’s not possible. Why can’t we just link our console accounts and extract the data from our ESO account pages or something like that? I mean it’s impossible to abuse this in any way when it’s officially done.

I thought you were going to say "reach around"

ESO Logs is not an addon. Data does not upload from ESO. There is a completely separate .exe program you need to download and run that pulls logs from your computer and uploads them to website. I think this is the big sticking point. I doubt Sony or Microsoft want random executable code on their consoles that pull random files off console and sends them to random websites. The whole thing is a bit convoluted and iffy, security-wise, on PC.

This is way riskier than an addon. An addon can really only do what ESO lets it do and what it can do is generally walled in and limited to affecting ESO. An independent executable can do just about anything to your computer. We are kind of just trusting that the people who wrote "ESOLogsUploader.exe" are not doing anything nefarious. I think it makes sense to trust them. If I understand correctly, they are well known in the gaming industry and have written logging software for other games. Nonetheless, what the ESO Logs application can do is out of ZOS' hands in a way that addons are not.

Oh I see and understand now. I just though it would work within the game.
