I agree that the concept is consistent. The reality on the other hand..

The forum isn't populated entirely by people who hate the game, or have issues with this matter, or the other. I can guarantee you that if you read the threads, there is always someone countering another's opinion. So, people with something to say (positive or negative) and an opposing voice.

I can enjoy the game, and make time to post here. I can also have periods where I am annoyed with the current state of affairs, yet still play the game, and also come here to give my opinion on something.

Most of the complaints on here are valid complaints, Especially the ones concerning the performance of the game right now.

I agree about most people playing the game instead of using the forums. I read the forums while I'm at work and have a few minutes to kill while doing OS loads/updates, and similar hurry up and wait times. If not for this, I probably would not be a forums user.

When I'm at home I play the game and do not normally read the forums.

The problem isn’t the complaints. The problem is when people do not think out the ramifications of what they are complaining about being fixed how they want it to be. Another problem is that people both don’t read critically or just assume that there are always ulterior motives.

Once again though, these are human problems. Not ESO forum problems.

I’ve definitely seen the game through it’s ups and downs. The problems used to be reversed. Basic quests were bugged to where you could not advance storyline, but Cyrodiil was smooth in large battles.

Although perfomance and bugs are justified, many of them last from the release date.

I know it may seem like people complain a lot, and they (we) do, but that's only because the game is broken in so many ways. For instance, on EU I can't PvP during primetime in Cyrodiil. It's like physically impossible to tolerate the 12 fps and high latency. This is why you see a lot of posts about performance, and let's be honest, if nobody complained about it then nothing would happen. So I'm glad people complain, and I urge them to continue complaining until we get the results we're looking for.
Holding your tongue to try and be "respectful" is a terrible attitude to have, and it will get you nowhere in life.

Having said that, I still think people need to be polite when raising their issues. Saying things like "U SUCK OMG I HATE UR FACE ZOS" are not really helpful criticisms. Obviously tempers can rise as things have been broken for so long, but still, it's best to try and keep your ranting to a minimum.

I think there are too many threads with the SAME complaint. Instead of making 31229847462 individual threads daily about EU server performance, maybe make 1-2 and keep the threads relevant and top page. The real issues get lost in the sea of whining.

i think that we need less complaining and more people having discussions about the problems.

im not saying the issues aren't important enough to bring to attention, but ranting about it, or complaining just gives them an excuse to close the thread citing it as nonconstructive.

if we have discussions about the problems in a civil manner, while also discussing how things could be fixed, we'd garner a better result, or at the very least keep the threads alive.

Well, the forums are here for discussion about the game. People are only going to spend so much time talking about the good things. Conversations where people just sit around agreeing with each other aren't interesting.

The game has been out for 5 years. The tips and tricks have also been presented as nauseam. Not much new to talk about there. Things that people want to see improved and the things people don't want to see changed will always be a popular go-to for discussion, even if it has been discussed before.

I think there is a lack of communication on ZOS part. If they ever replied with something that wasn´t a moderating action we would see less topics about the same issues.

too many players come across as whiny children who want their own way, complaining of petty issues and totally ignorant on how hard it is to find bugs in 5 years of software. most complaints wouldn't even be made if there was no pvp

The longest break was one month when Star Wars Battlefront II came out. Nothing over a few days other than that.

What I found kept me engaged is doing everything the game has to offer. I’ve finished every quest, most of them multiple times. I PvP on several characters. I got Master Angler and chase other achievements. I do group dungeons and trials. I got crafting maxed on one character and am working on others. I have 16 characters and bounce around between them. I theorycraft and test builds. Sometimes I’ll just ride around sightseeing and listening to NPC conversations in both cities and out of the way areas. I grind for sets and VMsA weapons. I try to take good screenshots (Especially with Selfie-Elfie, the Bosmer Stam Sorc). There is so much to do in the game, and I feel bad for those who can only enjoy certain portions of it.

Legitimate complaints are fine. What I dislike are the endless "this takes too long, put in the crown store!" requests. I think people don't realize what will happen to the quality of content if they push for further monetization of gameplay.

I'm going to kind of go down the middle on this one. Too many duplicates yes. Every forum is usually full of gripes, some legit, some QQ, and some off the wall. Where I pay CLOSE attention to is which gripe threads get closed down or hidden. You can tell a lot from a company by what it silences, and why.

Complaints in themselves are not a bad thing. When properly justified, appropriate, and respectful, they are actually quite the opposite in my opinion. We do have a lot of complaints right now however, and I think possibly a larger amount of them than normal are people just looking for something to be outraged at, but it's hard to quantify such a thing. Best thing to do is limit your exposure to the bad threads while they're here I think. There are still threads out there NOT about nerds raging at ZOS for not doing exactly what the nerds want them to do when the nerds want them to do it too, if you can find them.

I think the amount of complaints on this forum (even duplicate complaints) is justified by how many game breaking bugs have been unaddressed for years.
