Mag necro is a complete meme in PvP so I'd def say go for stam. The class has pretty much no damage outside of the ult so unless you want to play an ult dumping bot playstyle, don't play mag.
Mag Necro has a very long L2P curve which I and most players are still on
And I mean the real mag necros not the ones with a front bar consisting of 1 or 2 mag necro skills max and the rest coming from other skill lines
Stam necro looks like a typical stamina copy and paste style just with different skills so the L2P curve is a lot lower.
Basically if you want a challenge and want to create your own unique style then go for mag necro. If you want it easier and want to use the formula that most stam classes go for then go for stam necro

Yeah...no. The real damage skills the class has for pvp are blastbones and the flame skull, the first of which has terrible pathing, is super slow, and gets CC'd constantly, and the skull is just a typical spammable. The breach/fracture from graveyard doesn't stay on for any extended duration and no one is going to stand in there with the current meta. Aside from that, the mage and the siphon do virtually no damage, so how exactly is my comment incorrect?

Cause the things people say happens just doesn’t happen to me which leads me to believe people are exaggerating on here. A lot of group think going on in these forums. My BB works fine majority of the time. It occasionally goes *** and waits the entire duration to explode even if I’m right next to someone but that’s not often. Slow? I’ve yet to see anyone outrun it without using some form of expedition and even so it jumps to the target at the end of duration. People CC it? Haven’t seen that but maybe it has happened idk BGs get intense and I’m not really looking to see if it does.
The flaming skull is a good spammable not great but it’s decent And the graveyard works great in BGs in the many chokepoints. Especially when there’s a lot going on if you cast BB then drop the graveyard as BB gets there so people have no time to roll out it hits pretty hard with the breach/fracture. The siphon I don’t really use for damage as much as I use it for the mag restore. The class overall has good sustainability and is fairly tanky with the HoT which has gotten me out of many sticky situations already. Very good for 1 v Xing too. I don’t get wrecked in PvP I do the wrecking. So to say the class is a “meme” is ridiculous. If I’m not top of my team in kills I’m 2nd. Not tryna gloat but I just feel like everyone has to build a rotation(which seems to be the biggest complaint)that works for them rather than following one they may have seen on YouTube or alcast because it’s very dynamic. I’m not against a buff for the class but knowing ZoS it probably won’t happen so we will have to work with it. Damage isn’t top of the classes but that doesn’t mean it’s weak just because it’s weaker than some others.

It's quite tanky, yes, but the damage just isn't there. You might not be at a high enough MMR yet in BGs to tell, but it's abysmally low and lacks almost any bust or constant pressure. I played it fairly extensively in some high MMR games, and it's nigh impossible to hit even close to acceptable damage numbers (seemed like averaging 500k while other players hit 1m on different classes was pretty much the norm). The pathing is so bad on the blastbones too, that on certain maps it will take the long route around to a player and then run out of time instead of just running down or jumping off the slope next to you. It also never hits anyone that you're chasing and gets stuck constantly.
I could get plenty of kills in the low MMR games, going like 14-1, etc, but that really doesn't mean anything. You can only tell how good a class is once you start facing actual good opponents. The only two high MMR players that have somewhat stuck with magnecro on PC/NA are @wheem_ESO and Sunbark/Fiji and both of them are setup as support dps to play around the ult.
There's no way to see your MMR represented as a number in-game, but you can duo queue with someone that has a ton of BGs played on a particular character in order to see what the tougher games are like - and it's not pretty. In the low MMR games that I still sometimes get when solo queueing on my Magicka Necromancer, it's not all that uncommon to get 10+ killing blows and few, if any, deaths. But the times that I've duo queued with another player that has high MMR, the Magicka Necromancer was a dumpster fire, and easily the worst class in the entire game.

You might be right about my MMR being not high enough to experience any disparity. Is there a way to find out my MMR? On console?
