So what's the deal with crafting surveys?

I saw something in patch notes saying that drop rate was reduced. Great!

I have not got a survey in over three weeks, on any of the four toons I have.

Every daily writ. Every character. Every day.

They just stopped dropping along with all gold mats. I haven't got a gold mats from a crafting daily in almost a month as well.

So what happened, they nerf them into nonexistence like my Stamplar?

Um.... gosh. I have two accounts (PC/NA), and in the last three weeks I have had a total of 125 surveys divided more or less equally on both accounts.

Now.... if you're talking Master Writs? Yes, that drop rate seems to be down some. Maybe 15-20% less than a few weeks back.

Gold mats - I get a fair number on each account - like 12 or so over 29 toons doing crafting writs. Nope can't provide "proof", so this is anecdotal. I don't screenshot stuff like that. I don't have any issue with mats of any sort, so *shrug*

No man, I wish. Blue surveys. 0. None. Nada. The only thing I have gotten is ONE purple alchemy master writ.

So you are specifically referencing Master Writs? Or when you say "blue surveys" you're talking about survey maps? Sorry, but your OP wasn't something I understood fully out of the box....

Same as Sylvyrmynx. Two accounts, 17 alts crafting, normal amount of materials surveys the past few weeks on PC/NA.

I'm getting a fair number of surveys. Probably 2-6 a day on 8 chars. Must get off my backside and spend a day clearing the backlog.

Still getting the occasional, gold mat too.

Master writs are quite rare on those chars that qualify. Still getting a few though. One or two every other day.

I do writs on 5 toons, and get an average of 4-5 surveys a day.

This was a bug on PC the first week of Elsweyr. I think it was only happening to players that didn't get the expansion, but I'm not 100% on that. It sucked but they did fix it. Still been seeing less of them since. Been getting more master writs than surveys recently. I would report it in-game if you haven't gotten any.

There was a bug introduced with Elsweyr. People with the expansion had a chance at getting double surveys in their daily crafting boxes, those without the expansion got zero surveys.

The fix is to correct that bug so that everyone has equal chance of survey drops at original levels again.

Hmm, now I know why I haven't gotten a single survey since Elsweyr dropped, and I used to get stacks. I have gotten a couple of master writs though, so I haven't noticed any difference there.

The drop rate got nerfed however when you do writs with maxed crafting skills you can get now some mats for last CP, it is not nearly enough though.

I've received dozens of the same surveys from the last few weeks and I didn't receive a single gold drop or writ. Since the update, I haven't received a single survey, gold drop or writ.

*Edit* I have been receiving a ton of green food recipes though

I did 6 old Enchant surveys today and out of all 6 I got 0 Kuta....*sigh*

I thought the update said they was fixing the double drops of surveys where you got two survey maps instead of one after Elsweyr update not that they reduced any drop rate

I liked getting two drops it was nice but it was a bug I guess that they needed to fix

I'm not getting as many gold mats as I used to but I think that's just my bad rng.... I keep getting tons of master writs (usually gold jewellery ones for 300+ vouchers that no one wants...).

That explains it then. I do not have the expansion, and I am getting none. Issues started right at release.
