After 3 years I returned to the game, but its a bugfest and reading the forum here don't make me any happier. I remember ESO as a almost bugfree game some years ago, what happend? I also play WOW and that game is flawless and smooth, big difference there.

Wow is an empty cashgrab with little to no content, while you can play ESO forever and still find new content that is still relevant.
I mean, hey, if WoW BFA is a good enough game for you, why leave? Seems you dont have much demand for content anyway...26 -

If you just want to quest or do housing then game is fine.
If you want to go PvP or endgame raiding then it's really not game for you. PvP is unplayable most of the time and even in trials the ping is just really bad.8 -
Coggage✭✭✭✭I play PvE only as the PvP in ESO seems bland and uninspired to me, and from what I gather it is the PvP and the group-finder causing all the angst. I don't ever group with people, so I avoid that problem, and the PvE plays perfectly fine for me.2

Spoken like someone who has no clue what they're on about.
WoW has a ton of content with new content added regularly. In fact, the next major patch with 2 new zones worth of content is just around the corner.
WoW also has Oceanic servers, so definitely scores better for me than ESO does right now!

...and ESO's not? ESO is the worst offender I've seen in non-f2p games when it comes to being a cashgrab.
Yeah. It's shocking how bad of a cash grab this game can be, and it's gotten even worse with the addition of Skyshard unlocks for crowns.10 -

I found the bugs in ESO to be of less impact then many claim, and the forums more toxic at times then the game deserves. Also, the nifty stories alone make it worth playing the game for me...After 3 years I returned to the game, but its a bugfest and reading the forum here don't make me any happier...

To be fair, every game forum and more specifically MMO forum is going to be toxic, regardless of quality. The only MMO forum I've ever seen that wasn't toxic was FF14, and that is only due to fear and overzealous moderation...and that it was mostly a fanart/fanfic dumping ground.0 -

There are too many bugs and far too little action and communication from ZoS. The bugs that are likely to impact on your gameplay include ongoing server issues on PC/EU (they can't seem to apply a patch without screwing up something), the group system (that never worked properly anyway), and a lots of broken gameplay in Cyrodiil (broken builds, some cheating, and still performance issues).
That said, you won't encounter bugs all the time and for the most part, when the servers are up and you're playing a normal game, it's smoother and more content rich than ever before. Cyrodiil is the best it has been in ages in terms of game performance, if you can withstand 1/5 groups in either broken builds or running cheat engine (or similar).
So no, it wasn't a mistake coming back - welcome back! Just manage your expectations and hope that ZoS get their act together and don't take a wrong turn. OK, any more wrong turns...... ;-)2 -

✭✭✭There are some good elements to the game, of course, but it is (undeniably) very buggy, when compared to any of the other MMOs I have played.
WoW, for example (I played from Cata to WoD) sometimes had bugs on launch of new content, but once they were fixed, it was more-or-less completely bug-free, from then on and (as far as I remember), aside from the very occasional falling through the floor type of incident, I encountered no noticable bugs in older areas, at all.
Whereas, some of the quest bugs here, for example, are longstanding ones which they never fix and then (almost unbelievably) then re-introduce into the game, via new (similarly constructed) quests, in the new chapter.
This is unacceptable.
I have been hanging around here mainly for the scenery and for housing, but as the houses (they're not really houses) they have introduced in Elsweyr are so poor, I am seriously questioning why I am still here.9 -

yes game work very well if you play only on NA mega server, rest servers are or horrible or is drama within game by bed design to some things in this game which are even badder if there is lower players like lately I hear problem with empty guild traders everywhere on console servers xD gg nice work0 -

for solo content this doesnt matter at all...but at all I think someone returning wont think about only solo content :P
so in overall if someone want to play more with other people so dungs etc then it is going to be horrible experience especially in content where need more or just is more people
btw and I was logining for NA..have here 400+ cp and can say by myself I dont that much problem on NA thna EU while Im sitting in EU and just next to my country is Germany with EU megaserver...
this is jsut pathetic, I dont have that much lags on NA, never had problem with suddenly ping jumps to 999+ and fps drops to 1-2 withinin it on NA while on EU I have it almost daily and ofc I havnt ecen once long loading screens on NA while on NA its is daily and is still not low chance to get infinite loading screen especially on pvp on EUEdited by Edziu on June 16, 2019 12:34PM2 -

I am on PC/EU and it does not work well for me.
Every time I encounter an issue with combat, or lag, I immediately check my internet connection, as quite often it is that (I'm with BT...), so I obviously don't blame ZoS when it is that.
But, when it isn't due to that, or it is a bugged daily quest, which I then have to spend several minutes on, before I find out it has bugged again, then have to try to explain to the group/surrounding players (yet again!) and drop it and go and re-pick it up/try to get it reshared (all of which takes time and effort, for nothing), I absolutely do blame ZoS.
Especially when they don't ever fix these bugs and then re-introduce the exact same ones into new areas.3 -

I am in these forums about to quit because bugs i nthis game make it literally unplayable. I am stuck in block if I use it once, my animations for Bone Armor wont show, my Venom Skull animation is stuck on left arm, not full animation cycle. My heals animation show but dont apply. I am level 16, and getting to my end of dealing with the bugs in the last 24 hours, waste of my time.Pact Bloodwraith8 -

Since then I'm constantly reading these stupid 'bugfest' Post without any reasonable claim or proof.
Mostly im soloing, but I do pvp once or twice a week. Even in Cyro Most people have the lag Problem on their end (slow Hardware or cheap consumer Internet uplinks). Never had any lag or Bugs besides the missing guild after bigger patches.

I'm in the same boat myself, just returned 2 weeks ago, I thought if anything the game would be even better than when I quit over 2 years ago, I left because mainly of Cyrodiil and the performance issues there, loved the pvp and how it worked but in practise it was ruined by bad server issues, insane lag and at some peek times just simply unplayable.
On my return I was expecting to have to spend some time learning a ton of new things and have to grind new gear and abilities. Seems my thoughts were wrong, still wearing all the same gear I had 2 years ago, some hundings, Spriggans etc, nothing "special" only real difference it seems is there are 2 new zones of quest content, Summerset and Elsweyr otherwise there's nothing actually "new". None of the issues and bugs I clearly remember from 2 years ago have been addressed, there still there and there even more issues now too.
I purchased Elsweyr and decided to roll a necromancer, already have Stamsorc, Stamblade and Stamplar at max, Cyrodiil is still the same, if not worse than before, there's also tons of instantly noticeable issues in open world, I have come across a lot of bugged quests, even some parts of main story I am unable to complete, But for me the biggest thing I have noticed is how easy the game is, Has everything been made easier ? because it definitely feels like it has, I remember I could solo some Vet dungeons in the past, but they weren't that easy, I can now blast through them in full training gear with no issues at all, it does'nt feel right, its all too easy, I can see I am going to get bored very fast and end up quitting again in the near future.
Its a shame, Game itself is really amazing and very well done, but its maintenance, bug fixing and overall management is appalling to say say the least.

KoultouraS✭✭✭✭✭The only online aspect of this game that stands for its name, is that it requires an internet connection to be played.
Other than that nothing that requires a group of people to enjoy it seems to work. Be it PvP, dungeon or trials, the lag and/or bugs will devour your last hope of playing this game without actually having to swear every 5 mins. The lattest development has rendered Elder Scrolls online, into Elder solo online where only solo and overland content is ok , and that only by the prerequisite that it is not prime time during weekends.Edited by KoultouraS on June 16, 2019 1:27PM1 -

Pretty much this. If you like to adventure, craft, or decorate, and treat your mmos as a solo pve game with a social community, you’ll be very happy with eso.
