They aren't doing crap. Server Maintenance most likely isn't a patch. They just have little concern about what's convenient for us.
Yeah, becuase I am sure there is nothing else they would rather be doing on a Saturday night at Midnight.

I see, so its ok if it inconveniences someone who might play in two or three hours cause they get off work at midnight Pacific time or something, but don't let it inconvenience your play time..come on brother, go read a book, watch a movie, unplug and go for a walk. I agree, the timing is horrible since they have known about these issues all day. The mental midget in charge of scheduling is a bit silly, but beyond that, let em do it, its down already.

Aside from the few who are never happy, I think most people would be pretty understanding if they had more info on the benefits they'll reap from the maintenance.
I assume there is some kind of emergency since this is taking place on a weekend. It would be nice to know what that is.2 -

I am assuming here that this will take hours to complete (as every other time they shut down for maintenance). If this is only a 10 min. server reboot, than im okay with it.

Did you even, you know, read the link you sent? They just posted that to let us know it's coming down for maintenance. It's emergency maintenance - they are going to try to fix the problems.
People - Stop acting like this is scheduled maintenance and that they are just out to get you...

If you could not log in, or even lost a bunch of items and gold, and bag / bank space that you paid for, would you:
A: want them to let the servers run while these issues continue to happen possibly causing other problems and making things worse
B:Take them down asap so that others do not have these issues.
I choose B so i do not lose anything or any more than I already have

drewsdamanSoul ShrivenQuit being a baby, they needed to have this update. I personally couldn't log in due to the log problems. I had to repair the game and pretty much re-download it.
So who shuts down a game on a Saturday night? Staff that wants their customers to be able to play the game.
If they were the staff you wanted people would be sitting at home not playing for hours instead of a little maintenance time.1 -

So STOP COMPLAINING... let them reboot the servers and get things working. A LOT of people can't even play with these problems.3 -

It's an emergency shutdown to avoid further complications from things like people logging in to find themselves with total access to another persons characters.
I'm no software engineer but that seems like a pretty serious database problem to me.1 -
